Our stay at the Hilton Playa del Carmen was absolutely amazing! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the beach and close to everything you’d want to explore. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can truly feel that they love what they do.
The food throughout the resort was delicious, with a great variety to choose from every day. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything was fresh and full of flavor.
A very special shoutout to Alejandro from the Operations team—his service was truly exceptional. He went above and beyond to make sure our experience in the swim-out suite was perfect. His attention to detail, kindness, and professionalism were next level. Honestly, Alejandro made a great stay even better. He deserves a raise!
We can't wait to come back. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and welcoming getaway.

Visited as part of a friend's birthday celebration, April 2025.
Pros:
-Coffee, Lunch, Dinner options are pretty good for an all inclusive. Our favorite was the Aroma cafe and the Acai Bowl/Wrap hut by the pool.
-Rooms are spacious- cute touch putting a silver member ribbon on my door.
-Most of the staff are really friendly.
-Entertainment staff are all great and the silent disco and foam party were so much fun.
-Location is very close to off-site entertainment and restaurants on the Avenue
Cons:
-1 hr from airport.
-Waited a whole 4 hours to check into our room, absolutely insane wait times- you also are forced to check in your luggage, they practically hold it hostage and then you're forced to be with one Bellman who's checking in two or three other rooms at same time; you all walk together in the sweltering heat, it's really really bizarre and a total invasion of your privacy.
-Breakfast was not good, at all- which was strange compared to other all-inclusives I've stood at- how do you mess up basics like eggs, bacon and potatoes? lol
-Drinks were not good but that's often the case with all inclusives, so I didn't have a major, major issue about it.
-Main Pool is tiny compared to the amount of rooms/guests and you will never, ever find a seat after 630am unless you pay for a cabana. You also won't be able to really participate in activities unless you have a seat at the main pool or cabana, so not very inclusive.
-On the Friday I was there I had to wake up at 5:30 in the morning, to head downstairs at 6:00 to get a seat (you have guests who couldn't find loungers and had to leave their stuff thrown in corners while they went into the pool, I have never seen anything like this in my life at a beach/all inclusive resort- I also had people asking me if I didn't mind watching their stuff for them).
And then I had to make sure that I didn't move because the female attendant by the pool felt the need to continue to harp on and question me about holding two loungers by the "swimup" bar pool, while all of the lighter skin folks who disappeared for hours, were NEVER questioned!
I also ordered a drink three different times from waitresses by the pool and each time they failed to bring me the drink, so dont expect good service.
-Everything is an upcharge, and I mean everything- food, wines, spa treatment pitching constantly, cabanas, etc, it was insane.
-Room is filled with stains, holes/sloppy patching, mold and mildew-our luggage and clothes came home smelling of pure seaweed. We also heard our neighbors next door and above, so not great sound insulation. Also found small bugs here and there and there were often raccoons that would greet us the minute we opened our door lol Cute but scary.
-Nightly entertainment is lacking and basically it was pretty boring.
-Lastly if you're looking for the nice beach experience, this is absolutely not the resort for you as it's open to the public, ton of vendors, and a very small amount of actual sand/space, however I must admit they do their due diligence to remove the seaweed but it then blocks any potential seating.
Now this was my eighth trip to Mexico so I've stood at many different Resorts and this is hands down the worst experience. Definitely do not recommend and I would not consider this a five-star or a luxury hotel by any means.

We loved our trip! Great restaurants, great pool, great entertainment and the staff was AMAZING. We got cabanas for two of the days, and Alejandro was our server both times. He was such a joy! He was very diligent, very respectful, kept the drinks going. Excellent service. He was fluent in both English and Spanish and was able to joke with us in both! We don’t normally leave reviews, but thought he deserved a shout out.

We had an amazing time for our 5 nights here. From the moment we arrived from the airport, everyone was pleasant, handled us and our things with care. Carlos at the check in was very kind and helpful. We stayed in a Jr suite with an ocean view which was spacious, clean and so comfortable. Still with quick access to everything. Leticia was always kind and respectful cleaning our space. Alberto and Andrea took amazing care of us whenever we had a cabana/sat by the pool. Jose and Maria were always so kind to check on us at breakfast and ensure everything was going so well. Every single staff member was always so kind and sweet, taking time to greet us or remember our faces. There were themed nights, parties, something always going on in the lobby during the evening for entertainment. Absolutely loved our staff and our stay. 10/10 recommendation.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at this resort. They keep the rooms and facilities very well maintained and the staff were all so nice. We stayed for about one week so we tried almost all the restaurants and bars. We really enjoyed Kalamata for dinners, the tacos at Rincon for lunch, and getting Acai bowls at Barefoot for breakfast. Jose was one of the entertainment staff who led the spin classes and aqua bike workouts and he was fantastic. And Noe and Isaac who worked at Barefoot were also amazing staff that made us feel so welcomed. Having a quiet pool in one area as well as the more active pools on the other side were really nice touches as we could chill and read at one and join for volleyball games or foam parties at the other. The only thing we would have hoped for is more lounge chairs by the pool instead of cabanas but we would definitely come here again.
