Just a short walk from the main road to Manavgat with shopping, restaurants and pubs within a few minutes walk.
After arriving here quite late we found both a late night corner shop just around the corner and an amazing restaurant Kucukoglu still open.
The view from our room of the pool was awesome and whilst small our room was just the right size with everything we needed there.
We also inherited a cat from the last guests who really made our stay perfect.
We have a dog at home and rather than missing him (he wasn't bothered that we were gone as my son and brother in law were spoiling him rotten) we had a beautiful cat who purred more than any other one I know.
The staff were friendly and our room was cleaned daily.
It was a fair trek to the Side Ruins but definitely worth it, oh and there's the odd pub or two on the way back for the the thirsty.
We did visit later in the season so it was quiet but the hotel is situated so close to the main road that even then there were plenty of places to eat and drink close by.
High season it might be a bit noisier but we thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would definitely recommend this hotel as the perfect base to explore the area.

The facts.
The hotel is located about 20 minutes walk to the sea front, a 40 minute walk (or 10 min bus ride) to the old town. Local buses are frequent and cheap, a 5 min walk to the main Boulevard. A variety of shops and supermarkets within a 5 min walk.
The hotel operates all inclusive, half board, bed & breakfast and self catering.
Rooms appear to be a mix of studio, 1 and 2 bed apartments
The inclusive drinks (alcoholic, soft drinks, coffee, tea and water) all served from a single small bar /kiosk.
All inclusive drinks available at the bar until 9pm, then table service until 10pm at which point all incl ends.
Drinks available to purchase at another main bar, happy hour 2 for 1 on cocktails most nights.
Inclusive food is available at the dedicated buffet style restaurant.
A la cart available to those on SC / B&B.
WiFi isn't free and costs €10 per week.
Aircon in every room, free.
4 main Pools at the hotel, 2 kids pools.
The dedicated beach is a 15 min free bus ride away, on the other side of the old town. Pick up and returns at various times during the day.
The opinion
The hotel is definitely of the budget variety. Guests are mainly British, German and Russian. The hotel is in a rough area, the surrounding streets are quite run down / scruffy. Plenty of bargain shops nearby. The biggest let down for us is the all inclusive drinks only available until 10pm. Table service between 9 and 10pm is a nightmare, the few staff that are on are often overwhelmed with orders, many of which aren't delivered. Long queues due to lack of glasses also a problem. Not very organised at all. We complained on numerous occasions.
The food in the all incl is varied and plentiful. However, those looking for a more Turkish experience will be disappointed, as the dishes are an attempt at European cuisine.
Hot dishes often lukewarm, overcooked, poorly prepared or greasy, some dishes just plain bizarre. The salad bar has a plenty of choice, as do the desserts.
The rooms are very basic. Our room, a studio, was very small - through door, small bathroom on left, then very small kitchette (not fit for purpose in my opinion) then bed with very small dressing table opposite. Built in wardrobe adjacent to the bed, definitely not big enough for two full suitcases worth of clothes. Furniture tired with some damage.
The pools are often very busy. Although there are signs up telling people not to put towels out, they still do. The tallness of the hotel buildings means that at any one time, most of the beds are in the shade and the areas where the sun is available all day are very popular - it's a challenge to get decent sunbeds.
Alternatively, the beach is only a 15 min bus ride away, pick up from hotel is free. All inclusive options at beach are limited, only tea, coffee and juices.... no beer, no water.
Beer and food available to purchase from the adjacent beach bar. Food good quality, we had lunch a few times.
Some sunbeds are unusable due to damage, so checking under the mattress before use is advised.
Evening entertainment is limited to 1 or 2 activities lasting no more than an hour. Karaoke, quizzes and dancers quite common and very very naff.
Recommendations
Shop around for excursions and prepare to haggle.
The old town with surrounding ruins is a must.
Visit the bazaar in Manavgat for bargains galore. A hagglers paradise.
The verdict
Would we come to Side again? Yes, but to a better hotel nearer the beach and nearer the beautiful old town. Side has plenty to offer.
Would we come to Suncity Hotel again? Definitely not. Our first impressions weren't great when the transfer coach arrived, very scruffy surroundings is an immediate put off.
The all inclusive drinks are laughable, beer weak, spirits very limited. One small bar for everything, long queues, disorganised, shirty staff... no thanks.
The food is isn't great, overall.
A few of the other guests were loud, disrespectful drunken idiots. Most very pleasant though.
We enjoyed our holiday mainly due to dining out most days.

No lifts if your room is on the top floor it could be a problem. Poor water supply on the top floor. Bad location. Very unfriendly staff. Wi-fi is £16 per device for 10 days . I would never come back
