We had the absolute pleasure of being served by Eduardo Balam during our stay at the Barcelo Tropical buffet, and we cannot say enough wonderful things about him. From the very first meal, Eduardo made our family feel so welcomed and cared for that we immediately requested to sit in his section for every dinner.
He went above and beyond to take care of every single one of our requests, always with a warm smile and incredible attention to detail. What stood out the most was the special care he gave to our two children, aged 8 and 4. Eduardo treated them with such kindness and patience, making sure they had everything they needed and even anticipating their requests before they asked.
Because of Eduardo, every meal felt like a special experience. His exceptional service, professionalism, and genuine warmth made our vacation truly unforgettable. We are so grateful to him and highly recommend requesting Eduardo’s section if you have the opportunity. He is truly one of a kind!

It’s a huge hotel so don’t expect personal service, you’re pretty much just a room number. Staff often seem uninformed and not particularly interested in helping. Food is average and the rooms are fine but nothing special.
On the bright side, there’s plenty to do, especially for kids. Lots of pools, slides, basketball courts and other activities. The beach is a real highlight with beautiful white sand and a great place to relax.
Overall it’s an okay spot for a family holiday, but nothing really stands out.

I’m very confused on the amazing reviews. The restaurants were always booked. The day I arrived, most of the restaurants we wanted to dine at were booked for our entire stay. The buffet food was under seasoned and extremely basic. The rooms are dated. No smart tvs. Dated furniture. Dirty curtains. Again just confused on the rave reviews. Wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.
