We had an incredible stay at The Fives Oceanfront Riviera Maya! The resort is beautiful, and it’s clear that the staff truly cares about making every guest feel welcome and valued.
A huge thank you to Gustavo from the wellness program—he was so kind, positive, and patient, and the activities he led were an absolute blast.
Angel and Rodrigo were the best bartenders we’ve ever met on vacation—quick, efficient, and so fun to talk to. We genuinely looked forward to seeing them every day, and their service was outstanding.
Miguel, Fernando, and Javier at Romarley Rooftop were a joy to visit—they were always kind, attentive, and friendly, going above and beyond to provide exceptional service.
At Romarley Beach House, Leonardo, Fernando, Christian, Esteban, Eudwardo, and Ian were equally amazing—so attentive to our needs and making us feel truly cared for.
At El Mare, Cristobal and Giovanni provided excellent service, and Francisco was very flexible and accommodating to our needs.
Alfredo at the spa was wonderful, giving us a demo massage for our neck and back—we’ll definitely be booking with him again next time!
All of the reception staff, including Cynthia, Lilia, Alex, and Luigi, were outstanding and made check-in and our stay seamless.
It’s very clear that The Fives has an amazing team who genuinely care about their guests. We’re sure we’re missing some names because there were so many staff members who left a lasting impression on us. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable—we can’t wait to come back!

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here! It’s a nice mid-sized hotel right on the beach. We got a suite and the room was very spacious. We liked that it had a big refrigerator to store left overs and drinks. Our bed was very comfortable! Our kids slept on the pull out sofa in the other room. The mattress was particularly uncomfortable, which isn’t so surprising since all sofa beds are sort of like that. Also, they are kids and I remember plenty of sleepovers on the floor growing up, so they aren’t picky, but wanted to call it out because even they thought it wasn’t comfy. I added a blanket as a layer between them and the springs and it was fine.
We enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel! I wish I could remember the name of the woman that checked us in, but I really liked her (she had glasses and maybe some tattoos?). Anyway, she was great and a friendly face that would check in on us and asked us about our trip. Shout out to her!
The only reason that I took a star off is due to the beds on the beach. My family and I went to the beach around 9:30/10:00. It wasn’t crowded at all and there was a whole row of about 6 chairs that were empty. Most had towels on them, but no one was around, so I figured they must have been from the day before and we sat down. My family went in the water and I sat and read my book for about 20 minutes. I then got up to check on my family and take some photos. When I got back to the chair where I had been sitting, and where all of our stuff was, I was confronted by another guest who said that I was sitting in his chair. He said he had put towels down at 7:00am on 4 chairs and I needed to move my stuff because they were his. I had been there at this point for at least a half hour and hadn’t seen him at all. I was confused, but then another guest told me he had a similar interact with a different guest the day before. Apparently people put down a towel at 7:00am and then it’s theirs for the whole day whether they are using it or not. This is frustrating/confusing for guests that don’t do this because there is no where to sit on the beach then if you show up any time after 8:00am as they all have towels on them. It would be great if staff could figure out a way to better monitor this so these chairs don’t go unused for hours at a time when someone else could use them. While this was an interaction with another guest (no issues with the staff), it just bummed me out. We ended up getting my family out of the water and we headed back to our room since there were no other chairs without towels (plenty of them without people on them). Anyway, just wanted to give this feedback!

Leonardo, Fernando, Christian, Esteban, Eudwardo, and Ian at the Romarley Beach House also made our visits so enjoyable, always checking in and accommodating our needs. Joseph especially made our cabana lunch seamless so we didn’t miss a moment of relaxation, which we really appreciated.

Honestly, we had no plans to return to this resort we usually enjoy exploring new destinations, but because of the incredible team and their thoughtful touches, we would absolutely come back. For my girlfriend’s birthday, the staff delivered a cake to our room with a card, and at dinner at El Mare, they brought out a sparkler with dessert. Those moments made the celebration extra special and truly memorable.

I recently stayed at the Fives for the second time, the first time was AMAZING so I came back and was very disappointed. We were there for 3 days and the whole 3 days the adults only rooftop was CLOSED, I wish this was something that was told to us before hand because it was one of my favorite parts of the resort. And when I brung it to their attention I had to fight to get some sort of compensation for not being told about this before hand. If I would have known I wouldn’t have stayed here. Also when we got in our room there was hair and a stain on the bed and when I called the lady upstairs to change it she said that it was my makeup on the sheets ( I wasn’t wearing makeup and we had JUST checked in ). The only reason it gets 2 stars is the food at RoMarley is AMAZING. Service is slow but that’s not their fault. We also had the all inclusive package and the drinks were very watered down. All in all this was not a good experience for us.

We stayed at this resort for a week, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by Diego, who truly made our stay seamless. He ensured that every single request we had was taken care of, and honestly, I can’t say enough good things about him. His level of service, attention to detail, and genuine care went far beyond expectations.
Yoe is an incredible soul who consistently went above and beyond in everything she did, always with a smile and great energy. Giovanni was also extremely helpful at La Mare restaurant, where the food deserves a solid 10/10—absolutely exceptional.
Overall, the level of service at this resort is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. The food is outstanding, the staff is remarkable, and the beach is one of the nicest I’ve seen. I highly recommend this resort and would not hesitate to return.
