We are currently staying at the MITSIS Summer Palace, having booked a suite — the highest room category available „Sea View Suite with private pool“. The suite itself is beautiful and corresponds exactly to the photos and description. Unfortunately, almost every other aspect of the stay has been disappointing.
It is important to note that this hotel is part of a much larger resort complex that can accommodate 4,000–5,000 guests when at full capacity. Although MITSIS Summer is marketed as the more exclusive, higher-end section of the resort, it is evident that catering to a true luxury experience is not their primary focus.
Dining options consist of a buffet restaurant and three à la carte restaurants. The buffet is acceptable but rather standard — certainly not the level of culinary experience one would expect when booking a suite. A strict policy limits guests to one à la carte reservation per restaurant per week, which we were able to bypass somewhat due to the low occupancy early in the season. However, under normal conditions, this policy would be highly restrictive and disappointing.
Service quality is extremely inconsistent. Some staff members are friendly and professional, while others struggle even with basic tasks like correctly taking and executing orders, despite the small, straightforward menus. Furthermore, it is common for multiple dishes to be unavailable. The food quality varies greatly between restaurants, and the drinks offered are quite average, far from what one would expect at a hotel advertising a higher standard.
Minibar and room service are only partially reliable. We have had to contact reception daily to request services that should be provided automatically. Although staff members are polite and acknowledge our complaints, there is no real sense of urgency. Responses are typically limited to phrases like “we are really sorry” or “we will check,” but without actual follow-up, effective action, or visible improvement.
The most severe problem is the repeated failure of the water supply. Every single day so far, there have been periods when showering or even using the toilet was not possible. I will be posting a video showing that no water comes from the shower, despite the tap being fully open — an issue that fundamentally compromises the comfort and quality of any hotel stay.
In conclusion, while the suite itself meets expectations, the overall experience falls significantly short of what was promised. Based on our experience, the price-performance ratio is not acceptable, and we cannot currently recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a genuinely high-end stay.

Review of our stay at the Mitsis Summer Palace
We stayed for 9 days at the Mitsis Summer Palace, and overall, our experience was very pleasant. We had booked a room with a sea view and a private pool, as requested, and it fully met our expectations. The unobstructed view was simply magnificent. The room service was impeccable, with thorough cleaning, a constant supply of beach towels, and a well-stocked mini-bar. We have no complaints about these aspects, which greatly contributed to our comfort.
Regarding the restaurants, we appreciated the variety of options, but it is undeniable that an improvement in the quality of the dishes could elevate the overall experience. At the Med Restaurant, in particular, we noticed that the main courses sometimes arrived too quickly, while we were still enjoying our starters. This lack of timing slightly marred the experience, although the service remained courteous and professional.
As for the buffet, we found it a bit lacking in variety. However, it’s worth mentioning the exceptional quality of the gyros, which were one of the highlights of our stay. One drawback, though: we occasionally noticed that some glasses were still dirty, which is something that should be addressed in an establishment of this level.
The hotel has enormous potential, especially with the ongoing renovations, which promise to make it an even more remarkable place. However, it would be a shame to offer such an idyllic setting without ensuring that the service matches the standard. Certain details require special attention, as shown by an incident on our last day at the beach. I went to the bar 10 minutes before closing to get one last beer, but the server informed me that he could not serve it due to a lack of clean glasses. This is simply unacceptable, especially when it is clearly stated that the bar closes at 6:00 PM. This kind of minor inconvenience should not occur in a hotel of this category.
The hotel still has a few adjustments to make to live up to its exceptional setting. We believe that with a bit more attention to detail, it could truly reach another level.
Despite these few remarks, our experience remains very positive, especially with an 8-month-old baby. The staff was smiling and attentive, and we made some lovely acquaintances, particularly with Junior, whose kindness and warmth brightened our days. We would also like to thank the team at the Dusk Restaurant, especially the bartender, for her warm welcome every evening, as well as Lamine, who made numerous trips to help us with our journeys between our room and the reception.
In conclusion, we thank the Mitsis Summer Palace for these wonderful 9 days. We are convinced that with a few additional efforts, this hotel can reach excellence.

What an experience!!!!!
Fantastic hotel, the pools, the rooms the views 10/10 class. Amazing!
But what really made the experience for us was the dedication and attentiveness of the team. The buffet was so well run, chefs were out front constantly walking around and checking the buffet to make it presentable or restock it with fresh items. Waiters were doing the same. It was such an overwhelming level of care and attention which really made the experience for us. The chefs were friendly and guest focused, I asked them loads of questions and they were happy to help. The waiters and managers were on the ball ensuring the standards were up to scratch. Daily debriefs were done and everyone carried around note books to make notes. I’ve never seen this level to care before.
Maria by the pool was amazing! She was so friendly and welcoming, her recommendations were on point and her tequila sunrises even better! She was so attentive and had learnt our drinks order quickly and would come over regularly to ask! She made our stay!
