Rooms were clean and spacious. I loved the space at the foot of the bed for luggage. The water pressure in the shower was good , but I found the bath products smelled like sunblock. We had a birthday in our group, and they upgraded our view for free and allowed us priority for early check-in. Service was great overall. Breakfast had a good selection though pricey. Microwave in the eatery is useful if you bring your own food or have leftovers from the park; I'd rather it in the hotel room but I was surprised they had a microwave for use at all so I'll take what I can get. The buildings are 2 big U-shaped so depending on your room, it can become a long walk. I recommend being in Tower 1 since it's closer to the eatery and the park busses. Perks include early park access and free busses to Universal so I agree it's a good value.

Amazingly convenient to City Walk, Universal Studios, and Islands of Adventure. The bus ride only takes a few minutes as the hotel is right across the interstate from them! In "slower" times, the Dockside & Surfside resorts share a bus, so sometimes the waits can get a little longer. In busier times, each hotel has a dedicated bus.
I've stayed in both a Queen Room and a Two-Bedroom Suite at Dockside and both rooms have been very nice, clean, and everything has been well maintained. We love the views of the surrounding area from the upper floors!
Parking was a breeze and the towers have convenient access - no need to go through the lobby every time.
Front desk staff is wonderful and take time with each Guest, never making you feel rushed or hurried. They are great at conveying the information you need and answering questions. I have not yet tried mobile check-in, but I plan to do so next time, as that line was much shorter than the "standard" check-in line.
The food court has a ton of options. Yes, you will pay theme-park-hotel prices for it, but the convenience is worth it.
I've stayed at both Dockside and Surfside, and Dockside wins out in my opinion. The size and layout of the hotel seems better to me - if you're looking for a slightly smaller hotel without as much commotion (in the restaurant/lobby/parking), perhaps Surfside would be for you. The rooms and halls were quiet. I rarely heard any noise from outside of the room!

The rooms were very clean, the shuttle service was frequent for visiting the different theme parks and was very accommodating. The staff were friendly, the food from the market was decent with a variety of options to choose from and the Starbucks was very accessible. I was also impressed with the pool although I didn't go swimming. The entire hotel was very very cold throughout the areas, the hotel lobby felt lacking in any real theme or decorations for either the resort's theme "endless summer" or even their Christmas decorations. The lobby sofas were stained on certain areas. More walking exits to the external sidewalk would be nice for accessing the few neighboring restaurants on foot. Overall, satisfied.

Standard rooms are very spartan, but clean. Beds are not the most comfortable, but okay for a few nights. Bathroom area was tight. Mini fridge but no microwave. Facilities onsite were very nice. Kids enjoyed the large pool area. The food options in their market were very good and priced well. Will probably return here again when in town, but will spring for a suite, like my friends did, for the much better room options.

Always a perfect stay when we stay here. Love all the amenities, especially the café. It's always quick and easy, and the employees are always so friendly! Huge shout out to the wonderful woman who checked us in and helped us celebrate the 6 birthdays and one anniversary we were there for with a meal voucher for each of us. Not only was that much appreciated, but she was so patient and kind and sweet and just really started our trip off in the best way. She was working friday around 3, with shorter brown hair. You really made our day! We will always stay at Dockside!
