This hotel is absolutely beautiful – so peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to unwind. We had a swim-up pool. It was a little on the small side, but as soon as you slip into the “river” it connects to, it’s amazing – spacious, about 1.5m deep, and long enough to really swim. On top of that, there’s a rooftop pool with stunning views and another by the breakfast restaurant, so you’re spoiled for choice.
The spa is a real highlight. You get full access from 8am–8pm, and it’s such a calm, rejuvenating space. But what really made our stay stand out was the staff. Everyone we met was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly – no bad vibes at all. I especially want to give a big shout-out to Victor, Nancy, Gabriel, and Juan Carlos. They went above and beyond for us, and their humor and kindness honestly made the whole experience feel extra special.
Food was a mixed experience. Room service is okay (I’d say 3.5 stars – fills you up but not wow), but the restaurants are excellent. They offer French and Japanese cuisine plus à la carte, all high-end and beautifully presented.
The only downside is the location – you do need to travel about 5–10 minutes out if you want shops or a supermarket. Not a huge issue, but worth knowing.
Overall though, Royal River Spa Hotel is an incredible place – stunning pools, an amazing spa, and a staff team that truly makes you feel at home. Highly recommend if you’re looking for somewhere serene and beautiful to relax.

We have returned to Royal River 5 or 6 times in the last couple of years and can say the whole experience is amazing.
We have always stayed in a River Villa, which has a large bed, bathroom/dressing room, living area and outdoor terrace. There is a small pool which leads out into the ‘river’ where you can swim between villas.
The spa is so tranquil and relaxing and the massages/facials are excellent.
The food/restaurants cater for everyone and there is everything you can imagine at breakfast. We particularly enjoy the musicians who play at some breakfast/dinner times (violin, harp, piano).
The entire hotel is clean and spotless and the landscaping around the hotel is lovely.
The staff really make the experience, they are all so friendly and always like a joke. They recognise us when we return which makes it extra special and all employees are the same each time which says a lot.
A special shout out to all the restaurant staff who we like to chat to and are always fantastic.
We are very sad we won’t be coming back for a little while as we’re expecting our first child (hotel is adults only). However we will come to the sister hotel next door and return to Royal River when we can.

We had an incredible stay for our honeymoon! The staff were absolutely excellent – so friendly, welcoming, and attentive to every detail, making us feel truly special from the moment we arrived.
The dinners on site were wonderful, with delicious food and beautiful presentation each night. The location is fantastic — peaceful, scenic, and perfect for relaxing together.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!

Thank you all for a truly wonderful break. So much has been said about the beauty, comfort and peace at Royal River and we agree wholeheartedly.
We particularly want to thank the teams looking after everyone. They are without exception attentive and caring, we’d particularly like to thank Alejandro, Sid and Jenny, and there were many others (who’s names we can’t remember - sorry!) who were friendly and very efficient and took a personal interest in our comfort.
Breakfast is absolutely delicious and has a very varied choice.
So, a big thank you to everyone, we’d also like to give a particular mention to Lydia, she’s doing a very fine job of overseeing a beautiful hotel and creating a uniquely luxurious and special atmosphere, we can see how busy she is, but she’s very engaged with her guests and committed to excellence. She has the personal touch and that makes a difference to the quality of care across the board.

Our stay at Royal River in Tenerife was truly unforgettable. The décor and ambience are amazing, creating such a luxurious and relaxing atmosphere. The food was consistently very good, and the staff were attentive, professional, and always ready to help, nothing was ever too much trouble.
A special mention to Diana and Karlenys for our couples massage, which was a highlight of our trip. Jenny at dinner also deserves recognition she was such a pleasure to talk to.
On our second day, we even received a thoughtful call from Lydia to check we were doing well, and that all our dinner reservations were booked for us every night of our stay.
The WhatsApp feature was also excellent, available 24/7 and always accommodating.
We loved the different dining options. We ate at the Top Brasserie, Pineapple, and the sister hotel La Jardine, they each offered a varied menu.
Our villa was spotless, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed. It was the perfect place to relax, recharge, and truly rejuvenate.
Villa 39 had views of the mountainsand golf course such a great view to wake up to. The infinity pool was warm enough to swim and relax in day and night.
The violinist at breakfast was a lovely touch, and the pianist and singer at La Jardine added to the wonderful atmosphere.
