We LOVED everything about this resort. I can not even fully express how amazing this resort is. Not only is it beautiful but it has hands down the BEST staff ever! They are so very thoughtful and consideret. They go out of their way to make sure you have the best stay and truly it was because of the staff that our experiences there were elevated. I had a minor ankle injury (100% my fault) and from immediately assisting me in wrapping it, to constantly checking on me, to providing wheelchair escort all over, I have never felt so taken care of. We traveled with our two daughters (4 & 8) and they loved the kids club! The dining options are lovely and the resort is gorgeous! As I mentioned EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER was phenomenal, the ones that made an extra special impression on us with their thoughtfulness, service, and professionalism were: Gilberto in the buffet (we truly feel like we made a friend with him and will come back to see him!), Alberto in the services area (he was so kind to understand my injury and take care of our unfortunate excursions cancelations due to my injury) and Rocio and Fatima in the Explorer's Club (Kids club), our daughters LOVED them. I didn't vatch everyones name but EVERYONE was perfection! Also the lady who greeted us for La Petit Chef was so incredibly kind and amazing. We couldnt have asked for a better experience and are so very greatful for helping us have such beautiful memories of this Cancun trip!

Coming to the last day of our 7 night holiday, this has been one of the best holidays we have had, but it has come with a few disappointments from the resort.
With the positives, the rooms, service, pools, food, drinks, cleanliness of the resort is fantastic, 10/10.
The beautiful beach is cleaned every morning.
With a massive selection of restaurants there is always something to satisfy your hunger, you are always greeted on the door to your table by the restaurant manager. (be prepared for at least 60-90 minute wait for a table)
The selection of drinks is superb and always made with great precision and care, and you don’t even have to ask for another, there is always one waiting when you’ve come to the end of your drink.
The less positives was the preferred club benefits, it seemed more of a “that will do” compared to other dreams resort’s we’ve stayed at, the lounge is pretty much a glorified office with a sofa and bar.
And the preferred beach really just feels like a few beds that pretty much anyone can help themselves to.
Also.
The evening entertainment was very repetitive, after 9pm there’s only a live singer in the lobby and karaoke, which again feels like a “that’ll do” compared to other dreams resorts on the riviera maya.
But we would like to extend are gratitude to all the staff at the hotel for giving 110% every minute of the day!
Thank you!

The food wasn’t just not great, it was gross. We ate at the buffet and several of the restaurants and none of it was good. The fruit bar at breakfast was what kept me alive. The cocktails were weak (as expected for an all inclusive) but were also chock full of artificial sweeteners. Even the “fresh squeezed” juice at breakfast had artificial sweeteners in them. The pools were nice, landscaping was well done. Thank god for the coffee shop, I basically lived on lattes. Our room was nice and clean with comfortable beds and the resort staff were all very kind.

Our stay at Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa (All-Inclusive) was nothing short of magical.
From the moment we arrived, we felt surrounded by beauty, warmth, and true hospitality. The resort is breathtaking, the grounds and pools are immaculate, and every detail is thoughtfully designed. Our suite with a private jacuzzi and infinity pool on the terrace was pure luxury — a peaceful escape that felt like a dream.
What truly sets this resort apart, however, is the incredible team. Every single person we encountered greeted us with genuine kindness, professionalism, and care. We did not feel like guests — we felt like family.
A heartfelt thank you to Izzy from the entertainment team, whose energy, joy, and passion brought laughter and unforgettable moments to our days.
Special appreciation to Bryan, whose warm welcome and outstanding service set the tone for our entire stay.
Our gratitude also goes to Sergio, who took such wonderful care of our luggage — always with a smile, lightning fast, and full of helpful excursion recommendations that made our experience even richer.
Our room was always in perfect condition thanks to Elena, whose dedication and attention to detail made every return to our suite feel like coming home.
A special mention to Jessica, who went above and beyond when helping us with our Teppanyaki reservation — not only professional, but truly a kind and beautiful soul.
And most of all, words cannot express our gratitude to Edwin, Manager on Duty.
When he learned that my husband had booked this trip as a birthday gift for me, he created a moment that I will cherish forever. Returning to our room to find beautiful birthday decorations, champagne, and cake waiting was deeply emotional and incredibly thoughtful. I have never felt so valued and respected by a hotel before. What you did was not just service — it was kindness from the heart.
Every meal at the resort was exceptional. The quality, variety, and presentation were outstanding, and the way our children were lovingly accommodated made us feel truly welcome as a family.
The evening shows were spectacular — entertaining, elegant, and full of joy.
The beach was flawless — no seaweed, plenty of loungers, and always fresh towels waiting for us.
We left with full hearts and tearful smiles, already longing to return.
If you are looking for a place that combines beauty, comfort, and soul… this is it.
Dreams Riviera Cancún Resort & Spa is not just a destination — it is an experience.
We will return. Without a doubt.

As a frequent traveler, I have enough perspective on what to expect. I've never done an all inclusive but was here for a wedding (which was lovely).
We upgraded to the preferred club, but I personally don't know that it was worthwhile. They don't distinguish preferred club guests - the only 'gating' factor is your keycard for the preferred lounge. Any other privileges were never validated.
As others have said, the gift shop is crazy overpriced but nothing I wouldn't expect at a resort. $7 for a gatorade. $30 for sunscreen. It's unfortunate but again, I expected it and just accepted it.
Would I stay here again? No, because this is not my thing. I would prefer a quiet, not all-inclusive resort with nicer options and just pay as you go. But I also don't overconsume. If you are someone that enjoys that, you'll probably appreciate this place more.
Pros:
- Overall service was solid. Staff were nice and friendly and clearly work incredibly hard. Coffee shop staff were very efficient.
-Room itself was fine, we found it clean. However, the setup is not ideal (see 'cons' below)
-- Preferred club food/drink area was small but fine, but on the beach they did nothing to confirm if you were 'preferred' at the bar or the beach chairs. So didn't feel remotely 'special'. And unless you pay and reserve a cabana, there probably won't be enough chairs for you at the beach or anywhere near a pool. People come out early and just leave their towels on chairs.
- Beach was fine, they clean up the sea grass at least on this stretch. But if you go for a walk it will be everywhere.
-Wifi was good
Cons:
- There are TONS of kids. I had no idea that this would be the case. As someone with now older children, I am fine with kids, but not when they are unsupervised and parents are oblivious to their kids' behavior. I had kids bumping into my lounge chair constantly, tossing sand around about 4 inches behind me, in what I thought was supposed to be a relaxing beach area. It wasn't.
- The room is all tile flooring, so it can be slippery and LOUD. The room above us either had a toddler or people who like to rearrange their hotel room furniture incessantly, because until 1am every night, and by 6:45am every morning, we got to listen to constant screeching and stomping. I complained twice to the front desk, they allegedly sent security, but nothing changed. We never got to sleep well on this trip. The last night I had to sleep with my Airpods in with white noise to drown out the room above.
-There is limited privacy in the bathroom. It's all open to the room with just a glass door that doesn't fully close for the shower and toilet. It is mostly (but not all) opaque glass.
- Room service was not good. Only ordered once (pizza, some fries, some fruit) but the food was just plain cold when it arrived and took over an hour. We did order at dinner time, so I gugess to be expected on the timing.
