Our second visit to the Tacande and we were not disappointed. Location is excellent - opposite beach and near to shops, bars and restaurants. Impeccable service in all areas of the hotel - reception, bars, restaurants, maid services - all friendly and efficient. They could not do enough to make sure you enjoyed your stay. Good tennis court - we played every day. Enjoyed our visit to the new Michelin-starred restaurant Haydee, which is attached to the hotel.
Our room in Casa Fuente was huge with a lovely terrace and great views all round of the sea, the pool area and the mountains behind. The only criticism I have is that the room layout means the bath is quite prominently in the room (which is a bit odd) and that there is no proper door on the toilet. However long you have been married to somebody, some things are still better left private!

The room was clean, we had the one with a small private pool. The bathroom wasn’t seperated from the room, which, in my opinion, is a little inconvinient. The is a lot od space in the lobby, nice bar and evening events with live misic.
All pools including the private one are heated. There is also a nice indoor spa, which is booked, so you don’t have to worry about overcrowding.
Food for breakfast is good quality, the same everyday, but the choice is big, so you should not be bored with it, there are also cooks making some fresh warm dishes, e.g. omelette. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant, was nice.
The hotel has the underground parking, there was never a problem with free spaces.
There is no access to the beach and there are no sunbeds belonging to the hotel which would be an advantage.
The hotel staff were very kind, welcoming and proffesional. The only problem was cleaning staff, who twice came into our room without knocking on the door, very uncomfortable.
Generally I recommend Gran Tacande :)

1st time visit booked through EASY JET HOLIDAYS which were excellent in every way. The hotel is in an ideal location very close to Plaza Del Duque shopping centre. Our room was spacious, clean & well presented. All the staff were very obliging & helpful in every way.
Never a problem finding sun-beds & they seemed well spaced out whichever of the pools you used, the one pool was heated at 28 degrees, so nice & warm.
Our only negative was the temperature of the restaurant, most people complained it was too cold, this in turn made the food cold by the time you sat down to eat it, had the hotel had provided hot plates the food would have been far more enjoyable.
We felt there could have been more information in our room regarding the hotel amenities, the website is not user friendly, if you need to know anything you have to ask at the reception desk. It would have been far more helpful to tell guests what the hotel has to offer i.e spa prices, restaurant locations etc by displaying information in in the room.
Would we return? Yes, hopefully there will be some improvements in the future but the hotel still deserves 5 stars due to the fact the staff were so helpful. & I am sure these discrepancies will be dealt with in the future.

The hotel was nice and the staff were lovely but paying for Gold lLevel for us was definitely not worth the extra money.
The San Sebastian Plaza which is advertised as 'where tranquility takes centre stage' was certainly far from tranquil! And snacks and drinks were very limited.
We paid the extra expecting peace and quiet, not the spa pool being full of noisy kids and toys on a daily basis. Having kids bombing in the pool and screaming at each other isn't my idea of 'tranquil'.
We knew this wasn't an adult only hotel but from the marketing of the San Sebastian Plaza, we expected families with children to be encouraged to use the main and children's pool, not the 'tranquil' infinity pool.
Be aware, this is not a hotel for adult couples to stay if you want a quiet relaxing break.
Also disappointed that the hotel have not responded to my feedback about this.

A true 5* hotel. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but did enjoy 2 evening meals in the buffet restaurant which was excellent and very good value for money. Staff very efficient and friendly, great position on the right side of Costa Adeje. Great pool, quiet and plenty of room. We had a deluxe sea view room on the 6th floor which had lovely sunset views. Will definitely be returning.
