Great concept, poor execution – Disappointing anniversary stay
We stayed for 2 nights as a couple in a Deluxe Room with a hot tub.
The Pros: The grounds are beautifully green with greenhouses throughout the hotel. The restaurant is stunning, featuring panoramic glass walls overlooking those same greenhouses. The food was excellent at both breakfast and dinner. In the room, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows and, most importantly, very clean linens. The spa services were also a highlight, though keep in mind these come at an extra cost. The reception staff was friendly as well.
The Cons: While the concept is great, the quality just isn't there. It felt more like a good 3-star hotel with extra amenities.
The room was very dated and "tired." The sofa was stained, and half the lights didn't work. For this price point, you expect mood lighting and better ambiance.
The hot tub was dirty; after using it, there was visible grime at the bottom, suggesting it isn't properly maintained. The floors were also dirty (we had to wear slippers the whole time).
The room looked nothing like the modern, stylish photos. Instead of the soft ottoman shown online, there was a heavy wooden bench that we kept stubbing our toes on at night. Despite the description, there was no coffee machine or iron in the room.
Most of the staff (outside of reception) weren't very welcoming. On our last night, we asked for an iron to get ready for our anniversary dinner. We waited an hour, followed up, and it finally arrived two hours later. This should be standard in the room or available in a laundry room on the floor.
We chose this hotel specifically to celebrate our 15th anniversary hassle-free, but our expectations weren't met. It’s certainly not worth €250 a night. We didn't complain at the time because we didn't want to ruin our short trip with "showdowns," but looking back at the booking photos, they are clearly misleading.

We are having another fantastic stay at Barceló Corralejo Bay, we have been coming to stay here for many years. The hotel is spotless, stylish, and perfectly located a short walk to the beach and the centre of town.
The staff are the stars of the hotel . Leah is wonderful and cannot do enough to help us settle in and “de-stress”, which makes everything feel personalized and special. The food is delicious and varied with a wide selection of cuisines from around the world, and the pool area was the perfect place to relax.
Paco and the staff of the pool bar are excellent, providing great service when requiring a meal or just a drink.
Because the staff are so caring it is no wonder we meet so many people who have stayed before.

Another excellent stay at this gem of a hotel. The staff could not be more helpfull in every aspect of our stay. The hotel is in an excellent position with the beach just a few steps away. The town is a short walk away where you can enjoy shopping, pause for a snack or a drink and in the evening enjoy a drink whilst listening or dancing to the bands.
Leah (Guest Experience Manager) has been very helpfull during our stay with particular requests we had. This warm hospitality was mirrored by all the staff at this great hotel.
Some areas for improvement the hotel may wish to think about would be a) an area away from the evening entertainment that you could enjoy a drink in the company of friends and not have to shout to make yourself heard, b) there is a petanque area at this hotel which is out of use as the access to it is unsafe. I am sure there would be plenty of guests who would gladly make use of the area if it was refurbished alongwith the access to it.
Lastly, I have to say that the food here is excellent. There is always a very good variety available to choose from.

Barceló Corralejo Bay is an absolute gem. The hotel is incredibly peaceful, making it the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Everywhere you go, the spaces are spotlessly clean, and you can tell the team takes real pride in maintaining the hotel to a high standard.
The staff were wonderful — friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The food was outstanding, with a great selection and consistently impressive quality. Every meal felt like a treat.
If you’re looking for a calm, clean, and beautifully run hotel with amazing food and staff, Barceló Corralejo Bay is the ideal choice. I loved every moment of my stay!

The hotel is lovely. The staff are attentive, courteous and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food is very good but breakfast choices for hot vegetarian food is a little limited eg no mushrooms, veggie sausages etc but, after a brief mention at reception, I had a call to say the items would be provided as soon as possible and they lived up to their word. Excellent personal service and very thoughtful. It's a great location. Just a few minutes from local bars, restaurants, supermarkets and live music at 9pm at the Rock Cafe. It's a great spot. The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the beds are super comfy. We went half board and breakfast and dinner cover 3 hours so you can suit yourselves as to when you want to eat. Recommended.
