Before coming to the hotel we were quite concerned with some of the reviews we had read, although we were positively surprised.
Stayed in a villa-type room within the hotel, it had its own pool, outside space, 2 beds and 2 bath. It was nice and clean. Outside space was lovely and caught the sun most of the day. We found a few faults, but, nothing worth complaining about. One day out freezer leaked, so we let reception staff know, quickly the team responded and fixed it quickly with no hesitation.
Seen lots of reviews criticising the food. I think the food was lovely. Freshly cooked meat and fish - cooked in front of you. Pork, beef, chicken, sea bass. A massive salad bar which was fresh. Lots of fresh fruit. Loads of deserts with different flavours of ice cream. Most food hot or warm. If not hot enough there is a microwave, but, a lot of it was hot and freshly cooked meals like curries, stir fry’s or pasta dishes came out relatively frequently / replaced. Pizza very tasty and hot. Breakfast there was fresh omelettes that were delicious. Bacon was yummy, sausages were vile. Overall food was good though, with some lovely things that stood out more than others.
99% of staff where lovely, friendly and professional . Only one member of staff, who was an older gentleman, was rude. Apart from that I could not fault the attentiveness and great service provided.
Location spot on, right on the beach and next to town. Lovely views from villa.
The housekeepers must work very hard. Our villa was cleaned daily to a high standard. The hotel in general is clean.
The entertainment is not the best. But, at least there is something. Inside bar does not open until 5pm, there is a pool bar open in the day though.
We were here for Christmas and they put on a nice meal with some home comforts like turkey, gravy and roasties served. Lots of salad and other meals. Provided Prosecco on entrance to dining which was a nice touch.
The pool area was nice, though pools were freezing. Not so much of an issue when hotel is on the beach as the sea was warmer than the pools!
Overall we had a nice and enjoyable stay.

Very outdated, in desperate need of updating.
Fridge missing door on icebox which has not been defrosted in years with door shelves missing.
Flooring very worn with laminate worn through.
Kitchen poorly equipped.
TV sets very old and one with poorly fixed stand (leaning forwards). Poor signal on tv.
Bathroom again very dated with broken glass sink and useless shower fixing that was no longer fit for purpose.
Noise from pool bar and loud huming noise during the day.
On the positive side the staff where helpful and pleasant. Large balcony (But poorly furnished). Great WiFi and bed good (Firm mattress which I like).
Rooms are really good size.
Both safe and WiFi is free.
For some strange reason there was a phone beside the toilet.

We stayed here over Christmas. It’s a very large property right on the sea front. The pools are nice however they are not heated. The rooms are large and well proportioned although they’re a little bit the staff are very nice. The best thing about it is the location it’s at the quieter end of the beach in the bay.

What a brilliant hotel, reception warm welcome. All staff friendly. Rooms are lovely, air con worked. Great to have a fridge and English channels too on telly 👏
All food sittings had plenty of choice and was hot.
The pool is great with nice steps to walk into the water 💧
Fabulous location and right on the beach too
Overall a great hotel and would definitely return

Overall a pleasant stay at the Las Salinas.
Nice pool area and next to the beach and room serviced every day. A really good selection at breakfast. A few restaurants beneath the hotel which were convenient and a small supermarket (although expensive compared to the Hyper Dino in the middle of town which was about a 10 minute walk away). We stayed in a premium room with sea view and it was a great size with a huge balcony with sun loungers and also a huge bed, 2 TV's, lounge and kitchen (but without any washing up liquid, tea towel etc). There were small things across the hotel which would benefit from being attended to, for example a poor a dirty silicone finish to the shower screen in our room, tired sunbeds and just generally lacking that touch for a 4 stat hotel (albeit I understand 4 star hotels in the UK are of a higher standard).
One big problem is this hotel is advertised as having air conditioning - This does NOT work and was a major letdown especially with it being a 4 star hotel and given we experienced temperatures of nearly 40 degrees was particularly uncomfortable at night when trying to sleep. I was told a few conflicting stories about why it wasn't working by staff but being in the building trade I could tell the system was old and the issue of it not working would not be resolved - Must do better! Do not stay here if you want air conditioning, especially in the warmer months.
Would I stay at this hotel again if I was to return to Caleta? Probably not, the main reason being the non existent air conditioning.
