Nice hotel. Excellent service from bar staff. Buffet restaurant is typical of all hotels with busy peak periods and tepid food but there is plenty of choice and some freshly cooked items being prepared at all times.
Lunch at the poolside bar is reasonably priced.
You can upgrade to the "UP!" experience if you want to spend your day sun bathing, eating and drinking on the exclusive roof terrace but we weren't bothered.

Returned from the Arona Gran last evening after a five night break. I have never had a sun holiday before where 200+ people have been so respectful to one another in the pool area. Absolutely peace and quiet and just what I needed. The staff were all friendly, courteous and helpful at all times. Everything about this accomodation exceeded my expectation with a big shout out to the quality and choice of food deserving of a special mention. I will definitely consider returning here in the new year. Thank you 🙏 JP.

Just came home from staying at the gran arona hotel. The hotel is beautiful and rooms are very spacious and beds are very comfortable. Our rooms were cleaned daily which was appreciated. The housekeeping ladies were so nice and friendly. We had a mishap at the start of our holiday, we were overbooked and had to stay in another hotel but both staff were very accommodating and kind. The staff (especially dining) aren’t very friendly. We did feel as though we couldn’t ask any questions because of dismissive responses but I’m also not sure they could understand our accents (we are Irish). We did have an incident with one lady at dinner who yelled at my partner in Spanish for using his napkin to wipe his spilled food off the table. I do wish I reported this to the front desk as I was extremely embarrassed and upset to be yelled at in front of people at dinner. She then was clearly telling other servers at dinner who were giving us dirty looks along with her. We were also very disappointed that in order to get to the roof pool you must pay €85. With the amount of money we are already paying I think that is a disgrace. And if that is advertised on the website it’s not advertised clearly. Over all we had a great time and the best part was just sitting on the comfy pool loungers and then going for a swim to cool off.

Arona Gran Hotel – Tenerife Review
Great location, clean hotel, and excellent staff — always fast, kind, and helpful. Rooms are spacious and luxurious, with both shower and bath. The lobby is beautiful with a real jungle vibe from well-kept plants.
However, there are areas for improvement: sun beds are taken by 7am and the policy isn’t enforced; food and coffee are average; air conditioning weak; balcony furniture dated; safe charged extra; TV locked to an app not available in Ireland; WiFi poor; no private parking; bar payments only via room number; no vending machines for late snacks. Entertainment is loud, repetitive, and not very inclusive.
On the positive side, drink prices are fair, water fridges on every floor are a big plus, and the live piano each evening is wonderful. The shopping gallery and Dino Market nearby are also very convenient.
Overall: 3.5/5. A lovely hotel with potential, but several details need improvement to truly match its 4-star rating.
