I am there now and to be honest cannot understand the negative reviews.
Some people must have serious issues with their expectation levels.
So to put things straight I can honestly say that:
1. Reception staff were great, booking in was fast, pleasant and efficient.
2. Room is spotless and facilitues excellent.
3.The food is plentiful, varied and prepared well.
4. Loads of sunbeds, rest areas etc etc
5. Pools look great.
6. The hotel is seconds from Linekers (which is opposite the main entrance) and also Veronica strip and minutes from the sea which can be seen yards aesy from the hotel but a minute ir two by footpaths from the entrance.
7. My room is on the main road with my balcony at road level yards from busy pubs and clubs but I slept like a log last night, the double glazing keeps the noise out.
Hope this helps.

Great hotel, good facilities and excellent location, right in the heart of Playa. Easy walk to the beach and nearby restaurants and shops. Nice spa which was included in our room (as we selected it when booking). The rooms are nice, however the mattress is a little hard which hasn’t been great for our backs.. but not too problematic. It’s clean and staff are friendly.

The hotel is large and looks nice, but the territory is extremely small — a short walk around the pools and that’s it.
All pools are cold. Even the so-called heated pools do not feel heated at all. The jacuzzi is ice-cold until 4 p.m. Precisely by 4:00 PM. It was at least warming up somewhat in the sun.
The food is acceptable, but the desserts are terrible — tasteless, unpleasant, and with no real choice. Coffee is only from vending machines and is undrinkable.
The towel system is extremely inconvenient. There is no mini-bar and no complimentary water in the room, which is unacceptable for an All Inclusive hotel. You constantly have to buy water, sometimes from vending machines on other floors. If you forget your card in the restaurant, you will not be served water or any other drink. The system is absurd.
The hotel claims to be family-friendly, yet around 80% of the guests are elderly (60+). The kids’ club was in terrible condition — cluttered, unsafe, with a large industrial stapler left on a children’s table. The children’s program is very weak, and the ceiling in the kids’ room is literally falling down. This is unacceptable.
Finally, the staff. I have never experienced such an atmosphere in a hotel before. The staff are unfriendly, rarely smile, and often look openly annoyed and dissatisfied, constantly making faces as if guests are a problem rather than customers.

Appalling staff behavior and zero safety standards
Avoid this hotel if you value safety or professional service. During an emergency on Jan 19th, where a friend escaped a domestic abuse situation, the nightshift receptionist was aggressive and heartless. Despite my offer to pay for a room to keep her safe, he refused, told me to "shut up," and accused us of being drunk.
Worst of all, he made discriminatory remarks, saying, "all of you people don't know how to behave." He even shouted at his own security guard for trying to be compassionate. We spent over £2,000 for a stay here only to be treated with total disrespect. A truly disgusting experience.

My family and I attended this hotel for a week’s getaway in the sun. We also attended this hotel 3 years ago in Dec 2022 which was a better quality hotel back then. This year, the quality has tremendously dropped off and we will not be returning again in future. The reasons for this are self explanatory and detail added below for clarity in a timeline:
- Upon receipt of the hotel it took a very long time to be checked in which is a red flag straight away
- Every night the noise from the opposite hotel would go up until 11pm, however the night clubs would go up until 2am which prevented sleep.
- Hygiene levels in the room are of low standard in which damp can be seen in the bathroom. EVEN WORSE, I entered the toilet one evening and could not mistake what I witnessed which was an enormous cockroach next to the toilet as shown in the attached images. Please note as soon as I arrived into the bathroom, the cockroach went into the bidet which I believe there is an infestation. At night my family and I could hear a cockroach noise coming from the AC unit which was concerning.
- WIFI quality was absolutely horrible and you could not do anything with it any messages or Google searches would kick you off the WIFI. I complained about this matter in which reception sent an individual to have a look. He did not have a clue what was going on and the only check that was done was if he could connect to the WIFI. No additional tests, I even showed the individual the speed of the WIFI through an individual app and he did not understand this nor take this information further. The only apology we got was a Champagne delivered to the room which was thoughtful however not a fix. Last time I checked, a bottle of fizz does not fix WIFI. If it does, please inform me.
- The waiting time for food was very long at times which was unprofessional, in specific for the grilled meat (personally waited 11 minutes for steak).
- The evening entertainment is of low standard also the day activity’s are non existent comparing to 3 years ago.
Overall the points above conclude the stay at Alexandra Gala. My family and I will not be attending in future. My advice for any new customers would be to choose carefully and spend the extra money for a better quality hotel.
