Lovely Hotel with Great Potential – But a Few Things to Work On
Review from Room 543
I’ve got mixed feelings about this hotel. There are definitely some amazing highlights – the facilities are top-notch, the rooms are beautifully clean and modern, and the overall design is really impressive. I especially loved the Ginger Bar – the service there was outstanding, and the food and drinks were honestly some of the best we had during our stay.
The pool area is excellent too – great for relaxing and very well maintained.
The staff deserve a special mention. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Ivan and his team were fantastic, and a big thank you to Daniela – no matter what time you saw her in the morning, she greeted everyone with a smile. Little touches like that really make a difference.
That said, there are a few areas where the hotel fell short for me. While it’s clearly positioned as a premium hotel (and priced accordingly), I felt it missed the mark in catering for families with young children. The buffet was the biggest letdown – not much variety for kids, and oddly, some items that weren’t available there could be ordered at the Ginger Bar, which didn’t really make sense.
The desserts were amazing (10/10!), but the general food offering, especially at the buffet, just didn’t hit the mark – I’d have to rate it 1/10. That’s a big contrast for a hotel trying to appeal to high-end guests.
Would I come back? Maybe – I’m not sure yet. There’s a lot to like here, and with a few improvements, especially around the food and family-friendly options, it could easily be one of the best resorts out there.
My Ratings:
• Overall: 8/10
• Ginger Bar: 10/10
• Facilities: 9/10
• Desserts: 10/10
• Food (buffet): 1/10

WOW!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
Dear Melia Paradisus Team,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the unforgettable experience when I stayed at the hotel for my birthday in early February. Apologies for the delay in leaving this review, as I have unfortunately been unwell, but I wanted to make sure to express my gratitude for the wonderful time I had.
From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations, and it truly was the perfect way to celebrate my birthday. The staff went above and beyond to ensure all our requests were catered for.
The activities throughout the day; especially the glass necklace making and moon watching was amazing! I thoroughly enjoyed both these activities.
I would also like to extend a special thank you to Miguel for his outstanding assistance when we joined the Circle. He was not only incredibly friendly and welcoming but also knowledgeable and went above and beyond. His attention to detail and dedication has been outstanding and I can't wait to enjoy further hotels via the Circle.
The hotel itself is absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to return! Thank you again for making our holiday so memorable, and I look forward to visiting again soon.

I was there for Easter with my wife and enjoyed a lovely time. The hotel is beautiful, from the grounds to the pools and decor throughout.
Knowing very little about the hotel before going, we were positively surprised by the choice of restaurants within the hotel premises, all inclusive. We anticipated a buffet and that was about it, but there were multiple other great options from Mascalzone, Kanna, Lemon Fish, Peseta(?) and the Ginger bar, as well as the pool bar. We had rented a car for our trip but quickly found out we didn't necessarily need it as the hotel offered plenty of everything. It was however nice as well to explore a bit in surrounding areas (20-25 min drive west, or 40 mins to Las Palmas) and go to a couple of beaches as well, just for a change of scenery.
The service was superb throughout, all staff were super polite and helpful, greeting us every time we passed one another.
Only two things were a little bit negative about the trip:
1. The location: Although you don't need anything else than the hotel, there's not much within walking distance. A supermarket and a couple of mediocre restaurants outside the hotel premises and that's about it.
2. The marketing team's persistence of presenting the Circle membership. We didn't really fancy setting aside 45 min of our time to explore their other hotels but they persisted and booked us in for an appointment (it wasn't just a "come by when you can" it felt a bit like we were forced to take a meeting with their marketing team at a specific time). We hadn't bothered the first few days, but on day 5 we couldn't really dodge it any longer. Although they were obviously super nice, it was a bit odd to have to have meetings with the hotel while we're on a holiday.
Also, having said that the membership they did present had value and is something we would consider signing up for in the future - just not right now. We could however have been given a flyer or something outlining the membership value, and if we wanted to hear more about it, we could book in a meeting with them.
Summary: We would highly recommend this hotel and would absolutely recommend to anyone. It's wheelchair friendly, it's child-friendly and also perfect for a romantic getaway. We would love to come back to the same or another one of their Paradisus hotels when we have kids in the future. Just from observing, we noticed that the staff really were wonderful organising activities with their kids' clubs.
A true 5 Star Experience!

We recently visited the hotel as a family for some winter sun and it was our first time with Melia and also in Gran Canaria. We didn’t spend much time outwith the resort so can’t talk to much to the area but we didn’t really have any need to. The food was fresh, our room was big (we had a junior suite). The reason for our trip was mainly to give the kids some sunshine and they really enjoyed it. Being ages 3&4 there were lots for them to do at the kids club such as painting, sport, games and swimming etc as well as water slide. The kids loved playing with Lukas and became really fond of him and he is a real credit to the hotel. All in all we had a good experience with friendly staff and all (most importantly the kids) enjoyed the trip.

Just returned from a week here with my daughter and grandson, and would like to commend the staff, who, without exception worked extremely hard to ensure guests had a memorable stay.
We encountered positive interactions with Orlando, Roberto, Cristian, and Angie, but really everyone gave 100%.
The staff are this hotels best asset. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
Special thanks to Carmelo at the Beach Shack, for his hospitality and service, and Rachid at the dessert station in the Gastro restaurant, who became a firm favourite of my grandson Lenny, because of the perfect chocolate ice cream treats he made for him!
Thank you all for being so kind.
Debra, Grace and Lenny.
