Lovely hotel shame we were only here for one night due to being on a touring holiday. Staff were really helpful and friendly and the food for the buffet breakfast was superb. Rooms and the hotel its self are spotlessly clean and the whole ambiance of the place was great, definitely planning a return for a longer stay in the future.

The amenities are super nice! The view with the tennis court? And the pool is so picturesque. There was a power outage yesterday and the hotel used I believe its own power supply so we could enjoy a warm shower and provided a large complimentary room for my family. Truly appreciate it and hope to maybe come sometime in the summer to enjoy the pool vibes! 🤗

We stayed at Hotel Ilunion in Mijas in mid-April for 9 days as a family of four. The hotel itself is visually beautiful—reception and common areas are absolutely stunning and give a great first impression. The amenities are excellent, and the overall atmosphere is lovely.
However, the rooms feel quite dated in comparison. While our room was spacious and the mattress very comfortable, the bathrooms looked old and gave off a feeling of being unclean, even when they were clean. It feels like the rooms haven’t received the same care as the rest of the hotel.
Our experience at check-in was a bit awkward. The receptionist on duty made me feel uncomfortable, as he wouldn’t look me in the eyes and didn’t seem warm or welcoming. Strangely, he appeared much friendlier when speaking to my husband, which left a sour taste. We had to request a room change to better accommodate our family, and fortunately, the new room was much better.
From then on, the staff made a huge difference. Oli at the reception was fantastic—kind, warm, and professional. Livia L. was also wonderful, always smiling and genuinely helpful. The rest of the team was equally great throughout our stay. The restaurant staff were especially outstanding, always attentive and friendly. A special thank you to Carmen, who was incredibly sweet and caring every day. I also want to thank Miriam, the cook, for going out of her way to prepare egg- and pork-free chicken dishes for me—twice! That really meant a lot.
As for the food itself, it was a bit of a hit-and-miss experience. Some days it was excellent, others not so much—it felt like a bit of a roulette. Still, the service from the waiters made every meal pleasant regardless.

In summary, this hotel has great potential and truly outstanding staff, but the rooms need some love. With a little renovation, it could easily be a top-tier destination. Would I stay again? Possibly—but I’d request an updated room and hope for better consistency in the food.

The hotel is not very luxurious. I had dinner at the buffet recently and it was not good. There was no chicken, mostly just pasta salad. Because of this, I won’t be eating breakfast or going back to the buffet during my stay.
The hotel is also poorly maintained, and when I arrived with several bags, they told me there was no luggage assistance. Fortunately, I managed without having to go twice.
The rooms and the surroundings are nice, but overall, I’m already looking forward to checking out in 4 nights.

This hotel has a great view of the city. It is a very pleasant place nestled in the hills of Malaga. It is only a few minutes drive from downtown Malaga and so has a nice rural feel while still close to the city. A few short kilometers further and you have an amazing view of the city and surroundings.
