I recently stayed at Barceló Active Resort and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere around the pool was one of the highlights of my trip, thanks to the mini-events held throughout the day.
A special shoutout goes to Tim, who led most of the activities. He was incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and full of energy. His positive attitude made every event enjoyable, whether it was a quick game, a fitness activity, or just a fun moment to get everyone smiling. You could tell he genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great time.
Overall, the resort is beautiful, but the lively poolside events and Tim’s fantastic hosting truly made the stay memorable. Highly recommend

We have just returned from a lovely time at this great hotel where we went to celebrate a family birthday. We booked a junior suite and it was huge! It was on a corner location so had a big balcony too. The food was very good in both buffet restaurants and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. The hotel delivered sparkling wine to our room for my husbands birthday which was really nice. There is a good sized gym and lots of activities. Thanks for a great holiday

Came for 4 nights at the hotel and we had a super time. Our room got changed to a sea view room and the view was lovely, the hotel room was super comfortable and nice and had air con.
You can exit the hotel directly onto the beach, which has a good path to walk on and a cycle path which can take you to 2 close by towns
The food was nice, there was all kinds to choose from, including fruit, hot food, and also sweet stuff. We had breakfast and dinner included and both were buffet. The dining area was nice too with a view of the pools.
One thing about the food that wasn’t so good is that not all the foods were labelled, so it wasn’t indicated whether they contained gluten for example. so my bf who is celiac often couldn’t find that many options to choose from at mealtimes, which weren’t specifically at the gluten free section (which in itself didn’t have that much to choose from)
There are a few pools in the hotel, 1 which was heated. There are lots of sunbeds around but it was a little manic, as you had to wait at 9am to reserve a sunbed or it was likely you wouldn’t be able to find a spare one all day. Just going as a couple, we couldn’t find 2 sunbeds together all day if we didn’t reserve them at 9am. The hotel does say you can’t reserve sunbeds but still happened.
The animation team did activities like pool yoga, dancing in the water and exercises with floats, they also did water polo.
You can hire bikes at the hotel, the Olympic pool was really good, you just need a swimming cap though but they are sold for 5 euros in reception if you need one. The hotel gym is good too and has lots of equipment. There are shops close by and a supermarket directly outside the hotel as well which was convenient.
To get there, we got 2 buses from the airport which was easy and we got off right in front of the hotel, it only costed 1.40 euros on each bus, and took about 40 mins to get there.

We have just returned from a one-week holiday at the Barceló Active Resort in Lanzarote, and I wanted to share our wonderful experience. To begin with, the resort was always very clean. We often saw the cleaners around the property, and there was always a nice fresh smell. Of course, with so many children and people around it can’t be absolutely spotless at all times, but overall the cleanliness was impressive.
The abundance, variety and quality of the food were incredible. I highly recommend going all-inclusive so you can enjoy many fresh and tasty dishes at every meal. The all-inclusive package also included snacks at the Marella Pool Bar. This is perhaps the only negative point of our stay: I didn’t appreciate seeing the snacks already prepared and available, but the bar staff didn’t give them to me because there were still 20 minutes until 11am. I understand that cooking something before opening time isn’t possible, but I had simply asked for the ready-made sandwiches that were already sitting there. If you advertise all-inclusive and promise food 24/7, I expect it to be available at all times. Instead, there is a gap between the restaurant closing after breakfast and the pool bar opening.
We travelled in December and were lucky to have great weather, with very few clouds or rain. The all-inclusive pool, however, is not heated, although we did notice many Royal Level guests coming to our area. Their pool may be heated, but it is much smaller—so in that case, I would suggest heating the all-inclusive pool as well.
As mentioned, the food was very good with plenty of variety, so I honestly don’t understand the complaints from some guests. As for drinking water, I find it a bit absurd that you have to pay for bottles of water while being all-inclusive. I would expect at least one bottle of water per day to be included. Instead, we were told that only the first bottle was complimentary, and any additional ones had to be paid for. I can have unlimited beer and wine, but not water? It seems contradictory.
Overall, we relaxed a lot and really enjoyed our holiday. Our cleaner, Delia, did an excellent job keeping our room spotless.

Wow! What a stay we had, we stayed for 7 nights and the place took our breath away. The service was outstanding and so friendly, the food was amazing, the room was simply beautiful (we would recommend booking the pool view room that way it gives you the best views of the whole complex).
Massive Massive shout out to the entertainment staff as they were amazing, energetic and full of fun! Especially Tim he was amazing and made our trip even more amazing so thank you Tim.
I would recommend this place to anyone that is staying in this area of lanzarote.
