Lovely refurbished restaurant
Rooms are spacious and with good facilities (no kettle tho!)
Lovely sea view from our room but the balcony post spoils it a bit when you’re sat down.
Can walk to the marina in about 3 mins but that’s fairly quiet and most shops have now closed down sadly.
Service could definitely be more friendly
Animation team do a fab job

Stayed at hotel Costa Calero with my husband and our 8 month old baby on an all inclusive basis . The hotel is absolutely spotless throughout and the food was fabulous with great hygiene and huge selection every day. Our son was made to feel very welcome by all staff who were polite and warm, especially Belcy who we looked forward to seeing every morning at breakfast. Marina is a short walk away which was lovely and very convenient supermarket 2 min from the hotel. Staff were very accommodating to our needs. Would highly recommend

I’ve been going to Costa Calero since October 2023, once in May 2024, and already twice this year. This hotel has truly become a special destination for me and my partner, somewhere we’re happy to return to every year.
I’m in my mid-30s and my partner is in his mid-40s. We find that this hotel offers everything we need. The facilities are great, with four swimming pools and the best spa I’ve ever been to. The staff are always friendly, professional, and well-trained. Each time we visit, we notice that the food in the restaurants just keeps getting better. There are also plenty of activities for all age groups and it’s wonderfully quiet at night, which we love. All the guests we’ve encountered have been respectful and considerate.
One of the things I personally appreciate is that there are two (maybe three!) resident cats, and they all look very healthy and well cared for. I really value places that look after animals.
In my four stays so far, I’ve seen many familiar faces, other returning guests who, like us, keep coming back. The location is fantastic, with lots of lovely restaurants down by the marina. It’s also easy to hire a car and explore the entire island in a day.
We usually stay for 5–8 nights and always dedicate one day to hiking to Puerto del Carmen (about a 90-minute walk) and another to hike to the nearby village of Playa Quemada (about 50 minutes). Both routes offer stunning landscapes and a refreshing sea breeze, absolutely breathtaking.
Everything about Costa Calero is just perfect. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, high-quality stay and I honestly can’t wait to go back again!

I have visited Puerto Calero many times but never thought of it as a place to stay. However Expedia had a great value offer and we had a few days spare on our recent trip. We opted for half board because it was only a few Euros extra over B & B and, even though the restaurants by the harbour are tempting, we’re pleased we did. The buffet style is not to everyone’s liking but you can’t deny the variety, quantity (and yes quality). We had a sea view and were given a huge two bedroom suite. The views over the garden and sea are spectacular. So large are the gardens that it does inevitably mean a few minutes walk from one end of the hotel to the other - not a problem for us. That said it didn’t have a large hotel feel and guests have plenty of room including around the pools with a choice of some heated pools too. Sunbeds were plentiful and located in every nook and cranny! So not on top of each other if that is your preference. Overall then a great value choice.
