Had a great holiday, food was good, always something to eat. could had a few extra dishes to choose from but for the price it was great.
Staff were very friendly. Hotel was very clean, would certainly return,
lots of sun beds and a plus was they are chained up till 10am.

We had a lovely stay at Costa Bastian.
I would personally ignore the bad reviews, this hotel has everything for a perfect winter getaway. Of course you don’t expect a luxury holiday when you pay such a reasonable price!
Yes the hotel is a bit dated, but everything was great - the staff was helpful, nice and lovely. I loved the gym, the booking system was great and the fact we had a private gym we loved!
Food also lovely, always a choice, we are healthy eaters and there was always something to pick from.
The location is also amazing!
Thank you for making our stay lovely and enjoyable 🥰

We have stayed at BlueSea Costa Bastian for 8 days , and we have 1 day left, we are a large family of 7 and have 3 rooms. This review will be split into 3; the good, the bad and the ugly (metaphorically).
So first, the good. When I booked the hotel I was well aware of the reviews and also the standards to expect from an all inclusive 4 🌟 hotel in Spain. Having spent the last 7 days here, the rooms are adequate and clean, the staff are generally friendly and hard working, although they can only work with what they are given. An example of this is the food, the chefs do a fantastic job, but they are obviously not given the finest cuts of meat or high quality food (nor would I expect this), but it does appear the management are cutting back just a bit too much and the food overall is poor, and talking to other families this was a repeat theme on how poor the food was, however given the efforts of the staff I will give 3 🌟. The pool area is good for the kids and this made our stay very memorable, 4.5 🌟, the pool bar staff are great and deserve credit. The entertainment team do work hard and are all friendly, but lack resources and could do with more leadership, one of the team, a male, did seem more senior and was noticeably more experienced than the others, 3 🌟.
The bad - I don't want to single out one group or department, so I am happy to say that nothing deserves a bad review overall, while some areas could do with improving (2 or 3 skilled maintenance personnel could work wonders with this place in the long term) , but any shortcomings are very much with management as the staff all work hard and leadership starts from the very top, so my pointy fingers is only at the very top. Whether at home in the UK or in Spain I firmly believe that the hardest working should be those on the highest salaries, not the otherway round, so a well done to all the workers on the ground who do a grand job, management- room for improvement!
The proverbial ugly - well, this is a sore point for me and was in no way a reflection of my overall stay, but I am a stickler for money and will only pay for something that is due or deserves payment (I work dam hard for my money). I booked my rooms directly with the hotel with the knowledge that it came with a few additional benefits, which are minor, but still important. The late check out (*if availability allows) is free , and was confirmed on check in that it was free as I booked direct but I should check the day before. So when I checked today, the lady who was initially very professional, advised that it was OK but a €35 charge would apply. I spent the next 5 minutes trying to explain that I booked direct and there should be no charge and made another point about the booking process which she managed to explain but held onto the fact she was right about one point like a super glue, talk about a point scoring exercise 😒, I'm not sure what the lady though she was going to achieve but in the end (5 minutes is a long time to be at reception fighting a point) she admitted I was right and clicked a button and said "done!", but by this stage I wasn't done, and it doesn't matter if it was 1 cent or €1000 euro, it wasn't due and repeatedly not listening to my reasoning and being dismissive is unacceptable! It appeared that my due diligence made up for the lack of communication skills of this one individual. I don't come on holiday to take any nonsense or to be fleeced out of money, gather the facts and ask the right questions, I won't complain unless I'm baited, but I made myself heard and that can be put to bed as a one off, but working front of house on reception is not for the faint hearted and is not for everyone, just don't pick fights.
Overall all a very pleasant holiday with minor improvements required, but almost spoilt by one minor issue which could have been so so so so easily avoided by more effective communication. I'll give 3.5/5.
Please accept this review in the spirit it was intended, to encourage improvement.

Location is not as bad as you think, short 15min walk and ur at the sea
Check in was easy
Rooms were ok outdated but ok.
Had a issue with a plug coming from the wall waited over 10hrs for it to be fixed which with a 2yr old is shocking.
Entertainment for the time we were there was good. End of January.
Biggest fault I have with this place was the Food
It's Terrible. And one man actually said to me one evening only good thing in this restaurant is the beer. And he was right..
If u like Pork ur laughing , lunch and dinner I stayed 7 nites had it on the menu for 4 nights out of the 7.
Food is Awful. Cannot stress this enough. Said it to one of the staff. The shrugged there shoulders like they hear it all the time.
Even the pizza was muck
mandy dalley
This is my first time abroad. So I didn't expect miracles.
I came with a friend and my wife.
As I'm in a wheelchair the disability side of it is great and I have no problems, with everything regarding that.
The staff are great and friendly.
So now to the bad things.
Smoking: there are a lot of smokers in this hotel and as everybody in my party doesn't smoke, we have had to breathe in other people's smoke, you can't get out of it, there is Smoking everywhere.
Maybe just have a part of the hotel where the smokers can smoke to their hearts content and be happy and not everywhere in the hotel including the balconies, we can even smell it from those as well.
The Rooms, The rooms themselves are fine and clean except the air conditioning doesn't work properly and it gets really hot in our room.
We tend then to go outside and then deal with the smokers.
I would give the service 5 stars as the staff work hard and are always friendly, but the reason I have given less is because of
The food, which is very repetitive and the choice is not very good if you are a vegetarian.
My partner came here with a friend in February and said there was a lot more choice for instance scrambled egg with spring onion, this sounded nice, but unfortunately they haven't done it this time.
The pool is fine and you do get used to the cold, so no problem there.
The location is great and we have been for some walks.
The hotel is tired but I did enjoy my stay and probably will come back in the future.
Thanks to ALL staff who work hard in this hotel.
