We booked The Bitácora as a last-minute break and, to be honest, only after booking did my wife read some of the reviews, which left us a little concerned.
Those worries disappeared the moment we arrived.
The hotel was spotless from the minute we walked in. Reception staff were lovely, welcoming and very helpful, and our room was immaculately clean. First impressions were excellent.
We stayed for 9 nights on a half-board basis. We visit Tenerife around twice a year and usually eat out several times during our stay — but this year we didn’t eat out once. We enjoyed the food at The Bitácora so much that we dined in every night. The food was fresh, with plenty of choice, and in our opinion there really was something for everyone. After reading some negative comments about the food beforehand, I was genuinely surprised — if you couldn’t find something to eat, there’s something wrong.
Our room was very clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless. The shower was excellent.
The pool area was great. We had no trouble getting sunbeds, although I imagine this could be different during peak summer months. We particularly liked the adults-only area with the large pool and spa-style pool — a really nice touch. The pools are heated; they feel a little cool when you first get in, but you soon acclimatise.
We paid to go to UP! twice and it was fantastic — highly recommended. The infinity pool is brilliant, and the drinks and snacks were all high quality.
Entertainment was a bit hit and miss — some very good acts and a few more “interesting” ones — but overall we still had a good time.
Finally, the staff deserve special mention. They work incredibly hard and do a fabulous job. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, the restaurant and Fun Bar teams were polite, enthusiastic and welcoming. Yes, there were occasional waits at busy times, but that’s to be expected.
In summary, we enjoyed The Bitácora so much that we’ve already booked again for October — this time with the UP package included. We booked directly with the hotel and believe we got a better deal.
Thank you to everyone at The Bitácora for making our much-needed holiday so special.
Roll on October!

We had an amazing stay, everything exceeded our expectations. The room was cleaned daily and always spotless, the food was delicious and very diverse, with different themed dinners every day. The location is perfect, very central, and several beautiful beaches are just a 5–10 minute walk away.
During the day, the pool area was full of fun activities and entertainment, which created a great atmosphere for both adults and children.
We would definitely come back and highly recommend this hotel!

This was my second visit to this hotel and it was even better the second time around! The rooms are immaculate and food choices are amazing.
We enjoyed the many activities during the day with the fun and welcoming staff in the pool. The staff in this hotel are the nicest I have encounter when on holiday - they are helpful and welcoming to all of the guests especially Santiago in the restaurant!
The activities at night are also great for adults and kids. An excellent place to stay.

Great hotel, great entertainments.
Good selection of food. Very nice that Not overcrowded by the pools, was easy to find a sunbed on every day. Also during all breakfast, lunch and dinner not too overcrowded too which is nice. Breakfast could be extended by 11am as wanted to sleep longer :)
Entertainment team is great too with cool competitions.
My son enjoyed slides, basketball area and game rooms. Very good location too.

Great hotel, good food and animation. Rachel and Will are the best, we even celebrated the hotel's mascot b-day with Mickey, Minnie, Stitch, Mionion and the demon hunters 🥳
The hotel enjoys a prime location in the heart of Playa de las Américas, just a short walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly each day, though they’re on the smaller side for a family of four and lack a proper closet for storing clothes. The bathroom is fine but would benefit from an update. The all‑inclusive option is definitely worth it — they use A‑brand spirits for cocktails, which is quite rare for all‑in formulas. And finally, the pool slides are a fantastic bonus when travelling with kids.
