We spent 8 nights at this hotel and while the quality of the food and the efforts of the staff were highlights, the core amenities were seriously lacking.
The Positives:
Dining: The food was excellent. They offered fresh fish daily and the variety of dishes meant everyone could find something they enjoyed.
Service: Wait staff were quick, efficient, and very polite.
Reception: The front desk team was highly helpful and kind. They even proactively called our tour operators to confirm details for us, which was genuinely appreciated.
Amenities: The included beach club access and the reliable shuttle bus service were a great benefit.
Critical Issues: Parking and Health Risks
1. The Parking
This is the biggest drawback and a potential dealbreaker for anyone driving. We were informed that parking was "available." The reality is:
The hotel has over 400 rooms, yet the free lot has only 25 spaces (shared with staff)—making them virtually impossible to secure.
We were also told about a private garage available for €20 per day, but we found this was consistently full and unavailable throughout our stay.
The only alternative was a 20-minute, steep uphill walk in 37 C heat, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this size.
If you bring a car, do not rely on this hotel's parking provision.
2. Serious Air Quality Concern (Health Warning)
The air conditioning unit in the room was extremely weak and ineffective against the 37 C heat.
Worse, my son, who suffers from asthma, developed a severe, persistent cough after just a few days of running the A/C. When the outside temperature finally allowed us to switch the unit off, his cough immediately subsided. This is a clear indicator that the A/C ducts or filters are heavily contaminated with dust or mold and pose a risk to guests, especially those with respiratory conditions.

Check in and out was quick and simply.
Rooms were out dated and extremely small for myself and 2 others. Bedding was only changed once on our week stay. The bathroom had lots of lime scale and the shower went extremely hot then freezing cold the next minute. We also found lots of cockroaches in the bathroom and the sink tap smelt awful.
We were only given 4 cards to change the beach towels. However I found this to be weird as there was 3 of us so only 1 of us got to change there towel twice while the other 2 only got to change there’s once.
The cocktails were not great in the all inclusive package and wasn’t a big selection for cocktails. However the beer was good.
Breakfast seemed to be the same food every day but a decent variety as well as the snack bar was repetitive. I didn’t each lunch so couldn’t comment on that but dinner always had the staples like chips, bread ect but meats and mains there was a different variety every day. However I did seem to had an upset belly all holiday tho the food tasted good for an all inclusive.
Location is only ideal if you plan to stay in the hotel most of the holiday or go to the beach a few times. Wasn’t much to do around the hotel. The beach was 20 minutes away down hill not “flip flop” distance like described. Only a few restaurants on the beach, a few shops, outdoor fitness and a small water park.
I found Puerto Rico was where everything was we wanted from our holiday.
Staff where generally nice the views where beautiful.

The hotel was very clean and the staff is very friendly, the hotel is located on a cliffside and offers great views, the added photo was taken from the balcony of our room. Being on a cliff it appears daunting to walk to the beach, the hotel has solved this perfectly with their own bus service that frequently drives back and forth between the hotel/beach and beautiful town of Mogán.
Photo of Mogán included.
Overall a great experience, the hotel offers everything you want on a vacation. Would come back here for sure.
+ For dutch visitors, if Claudia is working she will explain everything you need to know in dutch, a very kind woman.

We stayed for a week at the Mogan Princess & Beach Club hotel in Gran Canaria for a holiday. We came to celebrate my husband's birthday, which took place during our stay. Unfortunately, we didn’t even receive a simple “happy birthday” from the hotel.
There is a huge difference in how the staff treats Spanish tourists compared to tourists from other countries. They practically kiss the Spanish guests’ feet, while others are treated with rudeness and disrespect—from the reception staff to the restaurant employees.
The room service was terrible! Our bed linens were only changed on the fifth day after we complained at reception—and this is supposed to be a 4-star hotel! Throughout the whole stay, the bed linen was changed completely just once. The second time, they only replaced one pillowcase and the top sheet, which had holes in it.
The pool wasn’t cleaned even once during our stay, and the small tables near the sun loungers were never wiped down.
As for the restaurant, the only positive thing is the view from the window. The staff clearly have no idea about cleanliness or hygiene. Once, a wine glass was broken, and the waitress wiped the floor with napkins and then wiped the table with the same ones! The staff reserve the best tables for their friends, acquaintances, or simply for Spanish guests.
Reception staff are unprofessional—some don’t even speak English, and some just ignore you when you approach with a question. During our entire stay, only two staff members were at least somewhat polite and helpful: the young woman who checked us in and a young man in a suit (unfortunately, we didn’t catch their names).
But the worst of all was Claudia—every time I came to the reception desk, she simply ignored me.
The only positives of the hotel are the beautiful views and the tasty, although repetitive, food. Everything else needs serious improvement. It’s hard to believe they have a 4-star rating!
The animation program was terrible. One evening, a young female entertainer came up to my husband, snatched the cap off his head (which had his sunglasses on it), and started dancing in front of him. She nearly broke his expensive sunglasses!
