We took our two young children away for their first holiday and this was the perfect choice! We decided to go all inclusive which was a great idea because the amount and variety of food on offer was amazing. Each night the restaurant had a different cuisine theme as well as regular favourites and staples such as pizza and pasta. The pools were perfect and so clean; the different areas and activities by the pool were great too. Whilst we didn't use the kids club, all the children looked happy and our children were invited to join in the public events. It has been the perfect holiday.
All the staff have been so friendly and welcoming and the room was cleaned spotlessly every day! Thank you!

We are there at the moment. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the room ( rooms) we are in are the best we have ever had. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The choice of dishes in the restaurant are super and always something for everyone. On the down side the food is not hot, look warm at most times so once you have got back to your table is stone cold unfortunately.
We came on half bored because we don't like to be tied to the hotel for food and drink all the time. Unfortunately there is nothing around here other than a couple of sports bars showing football all the time. It is a good 45 minutes walk outside of playa blanca so taxis are needed in the evening.
The hotel DOESN'T TAKE CASH IN THE BAR which is very annoying as on the website it sayes the hotel will do. We decided to bring cash with us rather than pay bank charges every time we use them. Would we return? Yes to playa blanca but not to this hotel.

I recently stayed here with my family, and while there were some positives, the overall experience was a major disappointment. I cannot recommend this hotel as a 5-star experience; in my opinion, it operates closer to a 3-star standard.
The Positives:
The views from the hotel are truly beautiful.
The swimming pool area is nice.
The staff at the bars were lovely and provided great service.
The Negatives:
Safety Hazard: This was the biggest issue. The front door to our bedroom was stuck and required significant force to open. My wife and son were physically unable to open it. I reported this to the front desk three times, but it was never fixed. This is a massive safety concern, especially in the event of a fire or emergency.
Cleanliness: Upon arrival, we found a used champagne glass left on the bathtub. While not a huge deal on its own, it set a poor tone for the housekeeping standards.
Dining Chaos: The restaurant was a nightmare. There seemed to be zero organization, with staff running around like "headless chickens" and many frustrated guests waiting for service.
Not Kid-Friendly: There were very limited food options for children, which made meal times difficult.
When asked at checkout if I would return, my answer was a hard no. Great views don't make up for poor maintenance and chaotic management.

Definitely not 5 matar hotel (4.5 as promoted)
The room itself was fabulous clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is also excellent, with easy access to the town and surrounding areas.
Unfortunately, the food really let the place down. The food hall felt more like a rabble than a relaxing dining experience. If you’re not a fan of buffet-style eating or you’re looking for a bit of class, this definitely isn’t the hotel for you.
It’s great for kids, with some basic entertainment on offer, but nothing particularly special. The animation team by the poolside were the highlight friendly and full of energy. Overall, a decent stay for families, but not ideal if you’re after quality dining or a more refined experience.

We stayed at Gran Castillo Tagoro Family & Fun, Playa Blanca, and sadly it didn’t live up to its 5-star rating. While our family room was spacious and the location convenient, too many details let it down.
Bath towels were tiny, the shower leaked all over the floor (unsafe for little ones), and the fridge was empty, small things that make a big difference in a supposedly 5 star hotel.
The buffet food was average, with limited variety and very little that felt local. As a gluten-free family, we had to pre-order each meal hours in advance, choosing our dinner during lunch, which took the enjoyment out of dining. No menus were provided, and when food arrived, it wasn’t of the quality expected for the price.
Facilities also looked tired compared with the photos, and service often felt stretched. When we raised concerns with Jet2 and the hotel, we received only a generic chatbox reply. The hotel later sent a letter, but when we went to reception to speak with the manager, we were asked to wait, after 15 minutes, no one came, so we gave up and went back to enjoy our holiday. It didn’t feel professional or guest-focused.
Overall, it was fine, but definitely not a 5-star experience. With better food, more attention to detail, and genuine customer care, this hotel could be so much more, but for now, it just misses the mark.
