It is a very relaxing and friendly resort. Visited in April at the very beginning of the season. The staff are very friendly and pleased to help and make the stay very pleasant. The room we had was very comfortable and clean. There is plenty of a good choice of foods. It is a lovely relaxed Greek resort. We had great entertainment last night with a Jersey Boys tribute act from South Africa. Very pleased cannot fault it. We love cats.

This place is great. It looked a bit on the rough side on the approach but inside it's lovely. Very clean accommodation enterence foyer pools toilets canteen food good but repetitive need some other foods now please. Some drinks are not included in inclusive. Staff are fantastic. Go above and beyond to make your stay perfect. Having a great time here. Not complaining about anything as everyone's business has to make money. All is good. Would recommend and come back

We stayed here for 3 nights on a RSD tour. Check in could have been better, only 2 people on the desk with another handing out keys. When around 180 are waiting, most of which are elderly and struggling, I do feel it could have been handled more efficiently. But the staff were very friendly and polite.
The room was adequate for the short time there. The shower room is very small and everything gets soaked when using the rainfall shower. Air conditioning was an issue, we could not get it to work and neither could 2 people who work there! It set at 25° and we could not adjust it. Also had an issue with the TV but this was quickly fixed. The bed was very comfortable.
Food was a big disappointment. To be fair, a reasonable selection at both breakfast and dinner but at the very best, luke warm. Don't expect an English style breakfast fry up, it is Greece and bacon and sausages are rubbish! And all barely warm at best. Good selection of cold meat and cheese. The toaster is ridiculously slow but that's nothing new in most hotels I've stayed in. Lovely Greek yogurt though.
Having lived on a Greek island for many years, I am used to cats roaming freely around the restaurants, making themselves at home on the chairs and fighting very noisily. This is not discouraged. I do however draw the line at pigeons flying around inside and pooping on the sofas! There was a small yapping dog behind the bar which did not add to a relaxing atmosphere but this was removed after I commented to reception.
The beach is just across the road. I definitely would not enjoy using it, so scruffy, dirty and full of rubbish. I would hope that in the peak season this would be cleaned up considerably. I appreciate it may not belong to the hotel but I feel they would have a say in how it looks.
We stayed in March before the season started so I would imagine the whole area will get a spruce up.
The staff make this hotel, they are all wonderful.

A Disastrous Experience at Virginia Family Resort – Avoid RDS Travel at All Costs
Our stay at the Virginia Family Resort was, regrettably, one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had—and the responsibility lies both with the resort’s poor management and the appalling conduct of the RDS Travel company, which we strongly advise others to avoid.
Upon arrival, we were forced to queue for over an hour just to check in. The reception was clearly understaffed, chaotic, and disorganised. Despite this delay, there was no proper communication or apology from either the hotel staff or our tour guide from RDS, who showed complete indifference to the inconvenience.
The room we were allocated was located at the far end of the resort, in what appeared to be the lowest-grade section of the complex. It quickly became clear that RDS Travel had deliberately booked the cheapest rooms available, regardless of comfort or basic amenities, while misleading us during the booking process.
Our room had no hot water for showers and barely any water pressure at all. It was impossible to bathe, which is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one claiming to be a family resort. When we reported this to the reception, they dismissed our concerns and falsely claimed the issue affected all rooms. This was later proven untrue when we spoke with other guests who confirmed they had no such problems. It felt like we were being lied to and treated as second-class guests.
The food was another major disappointment—repetitive, of very basic quality, and often served cold. There were limited choices and very little appeal for a family-oriented resort. Again, the staff made no effort to improve the situation or offer alternatives.
Worst of all, our tour guide from RDS was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He showed no interest in resolving our concerns and seemed more invested in cutting costs than providing a quality experience. His behaviour and lack of responsibility were deeply frustrating.
In summary, I do not recommend Virginia Family Resort, especially when booked through RDS Travel. The entire experience felt like a trap—uncomfortable, dishonest, and far below any acceptable standard for hospitality or customer service. Travellers deserve honesty and respect, and we received neither. Avoid both the resort and the agency if you value your time, money, and peace of mind.

Stayed here as part of an RSD tour. The staff are lovely, the room is spacious (although the bed was bit hard for my liking.) Nice and clean throughout, and the food is decent. Recommended.
