Absolutely stunning location and beautiful looking hotel.
Rooms: generally clean and look nice and modern , though missing a few wee touches like hooks or rails to hang towels up in the bathroom area, a shelf in the shower for toiletries. Safe needs to be paid for separately, which I think is just rude.
Our room wasn’t always cleaned properly and towels weren’t always changed even when putting them on the floor.
Bin was emptied, but full bin bag left on desk.
Dirty cleaning cloth left in bathroom.
Floors weren’t cleaned either, a couple times we removed dust bunnies ourselves.
Explained all this to reception and was told “the cleaners probably didn’t have enough time” I asked them to make sure our room was cleaned properly and to provide fresh towels, but it still wasn’t done properly.
Food: good food hygiene, edible for the most part, given its buffet style food, it’s good, but some nights we had to opt for salad based meals as the meat just doesn’t look all that appealing at times. Desserts are always spot on!
Staff: a bit hit and miss tbh, some are your generic hotel staff friendly, some not so much, did not really experience the “Greek friendliness”
Entertainment: was fairly disappointing to the point we opted to go into ixia for some entertainment or just went to our room a few nights. We found one of the entertainment crew to be creepy, so avoided him at all cost.
There is absolutely nothing there for teenagers, nor do the entertainment staff even attempt to get them together.
Overall, I would say a neutral experience, leaning a little more to positive than negative, I would highly recommend for the location and possibly for older childless couples, but wouldn’t really recommend for single parents of teenagers.

Avra beach hotel what an amazing experience!! Everything was just perfect for our family of 4. The food choices, drinks, facilities, pool, beach and the kids/family entertainment was absolutely super. The main bit for us which made our 2 young girls holiday was the entertainment reps/staff, they were so caring, friendly and super helpful. To name a few my 4 year old Millie loved Tibi, Erina but he main one was Boogie, he absolutely made her holiday and made it extra special.
We couldn't fault anything and would love to come back in a heartbeat (Time to start saving)
We all have the holiday blues and didn't want to leave.
Thanks you so much for everything and hopefully see you all again soon.

First time we have stayed in this hotel. Fab location as only a short distance from the airport. Hotel has completely been refurbished. Rooms weren't quite finished as didn't have a safety deposit box, toilet roll holder or towel rail. However they were putting them in on the day we left.
The hotel had the best food we have ever had & the choice was ample. The only downside to our holiday was the manager as we entered the dining room. He always appeared stressed & seemed to take it out on the rest of the staff who were lovely. Kastos chill out & please appreciate your hard working staff.

Avra Beach Resort Hotel and Bungalows is situated on the beautiful bright blue coast of Rhodes. There is immediate access to a stoney beach with plenty of parasols and sun beds for guests. Over all the hotel is clean, well presented and has constant supply of food and drinks from 06.30 to midnight... The hotel is well adapted for most families of all ages and most needs if you like noisy family entertainment and don't have any allergies. However if you are a coeliac and dairy free like me, please AVOID! They claim they are knowledgeable and adaptable to all allergies but sadly food comes contaminated using utensils as used on glutened food and on many occasions food labelled GF had normal glutened pitta bread diced on top of dishes. We had to avoid the desserts display as the allergen information and desserts did not match up and the mousses labelled GF had sponge or a profiterole hiding under the mousse topping. We questioned the so called GF foods/desserts and was always reassured no nuts but yes to gluten... Information labels were soon changed by restaurant management to state Gluten... Sadly their actions and knowledge proved to be too little to late.

We stayed here for 10 nights from April 17th 2026. Upon arrival, which was late in the evening, staff were friendly and helpful. Checking in was quick and we were directed to our room.
The room (sea view family room) itself was spacious, really clean and modern. Main bed was a great size with two single beds if needed. The room had a great size bathroom area with walk in shower and toilet. Large sink and mirror.
A small cupboard area was next to the door which was useful. The room came with a nice terrace and a couple of chairs and a great sea view.
Only thing about the room was the floor. Nothing wrong other than it was very slippy so watch out for that.
Food in the hotel was very good for buffet style. Lots of choices each day and a themed night each day such as BBQ nights etc.
You got to pick from a selection of breads, cold salads and meats and then the main hot food. Selection was good and would even account for picky eaters.
Drink selection was also really wide and plentiful. Staff here were lovely and very attentive.
The outside bar was a highlight as it was well stocked and run with no real long waits for the large selectionof cocktails on offer. Staff here were really good and helpful. The small food selection here was served from 10am till 12am which is a really good touch for late arrivals.
While we personally didn't make use of the entertainment, it seemed wide ranging and was aimed at all ages. Only thing I would say was a downer on this was the noise level. Even if you didn't want to get involved, you heared it, even late into the night however, it seemed to go down well with the families that made use of it.
Another really great feature of this hotel was the in-house tour organiser! From 9am she would be in the main reception where you could buy a direct bus to Rhodes (€7 adult, €4 child), trips to Lindos and cruises! It was all direct from the hotel which was really great and saved time. Would 100% recommend making use of this when staying.
With this hotel being right on the beach, swimming in the Mediterranean was right on the door step which was nice. Plenty of sun beds on offer however, be warned don't try and reserve one. Our daily entertainment was watching people put towels down and then go for breakfast. Once they had walked off, a gentleman would walk over, fold the towels up and put them on the side! No prisoners were taken but it was only fair!
In all this hotel was really great and you can see why it has won all the awards it has! Very much worth a stay especially if you have kids.
Thank you Avra Beach!
