Hotel stars should be re-evaluated each year - I can absolutely see how this WAS a 4-star hotel but to claim that presently is reaching. The hotel is dated and sadly not being taken care of - it looks tattered and worn from the outside and while there are moments of great inside, it needs some reinvesting in. The beach club is a whole other disaster I mention below.
When we checked in, there was live music happening that was so loud it made it impossible to hear the lovely gentleman at the front desk. He did tell us they upgraded our room which was nice. The room itself, didn’t feel like an upgrade. It was a “suite” which was 2 rooms but cold, sparsely furnished and very dated. As we got into our stay, it wasn’t just dated, things were broken (the ATM) and it just seemed like one thing after another. First, the shuttle to the “beach club” which we were told about upon check in and given a schedule for was broken and instead of informing the guests, there was a group of us sitting outside the lobby waiting and waiting until I finally went in to inquire and the young woman at the desk told me the large bus was broken and there was a smaller one making rounds and would be there soon. Not once did she mention (or anyone) that the pickup was not right out front but around the corner where there was ANOTHER uninformed group waiting that got on the small van forcing us to wait another 20 minutes. 45 minutes later, we were shuttled to a parking lot where we walked down a path to not a beach club but a small pool with a snack bar and cafe. We were told at check in to get towels from the pool at the hotel or the beach club, when we asked they refused and said we had to get them at the hotel. No one on our shuttle had towels from the hotel so it wasn’t just us AND the gentleman told me, quite rudely, that he’d “tell the hotel again but he doesn’t know how many times he can keep telling them” and that was that. 45 minute wait for an overprice warm beer, no towel and a “manager” that couldn’t care less. We ubered to a local beach bar and never looked back. The photos on the website of this hotel and the beach club cannot be from the last decade, it’s complete deception. When I tried reaching out to Tivoli at the corporate level, I got someone in Madrid who told me someone would reach out and that never happened. When we went to the Tivoli in Lisbon, we were blown away by the atmosphere, the food/drinks and service, we were thrilled to visit another location in Lagos - what a disappointment. The worst part is no one even asked us how our stay was when we check out. I don’t know who is managing this location but they could use some coaching from the Lisbon team.

Just checked out today. Fabulous hotel. Stayed for 2 weeks on honeymoon. Location of our room in hotel was perfect. We were over looking a little pond with turtles which was unreal. Room was very comfortable. Cleaners were fab. Breakfast was great. Loved the pool area, drinks were a tad expensive but to be expected for convenience. Staff were very friendly. Location is unreal, close to marina and old town. Staff recommended tours we could book. Rented a car for few days and car park was very easy to find spaces etc. We had an absolutely amazing holiday and I think we will be back next year. The hotel was great and Lagos itself us unbelievable. Can't thank you all enough for one of the best holidays we have ever had. Thanks to all.

Location is superb, it’s a sizable resort hotel, but also within walking distance of the old town.
Rooms and view are superb, especially love the small gardens they have in the hotel
Also, the breakfast included gave a good variety, the fresh cheese was the best I’ve had.
When you check in, they give you a timetable for a shuttle bus to a beach club , which kind of implies it is included in your stay. But when you get there, you find out it costs €15 to use the pool there. This could have been better communicated beforehand.
Most of the hotel is very modern and clean, however they seem to have missed modernising the changing rooms under the pool, and also the toilet under the main reception. These were very dated and had dark lighting which would turn off by itself leaving you in the dark..

Misleading, Overpriced, and Poor Value
I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to others. This hotel is seriously overpriced for what it offers, and I’m genuinely surprised by all the glowing reviews. The photos used to advertise it, especially on Expedia, are misleading at best. The beach club shown prominently is actually a 10-minute drive away and not part of the hotel itself. Access to it also costs extra, which wasn’t made clear during booking.
The condition of the hotel was beyond underwhelming. The hallway outside our room stank, had a mouldy, stained carpet, and flies (see pictures). The whole place needs a proper deep clean, specifically the pool area/ outside. It’s in desperate need of some updates, especially if they’re going to continue being as stingey as they were.
They charged extra for absolutely everything — including in-room coffee (€1.50 per pod) and even just to open a bottle of wine previously purchased to drink in our own room (€5). Water in the lobby was limited to a tiny glass, and when I asked if I could fill my water bottle (during a 38 degree day), a staff member said “no - that’s how wesell more water, obviously.” That really summed up the overall attitude, cutting corners while charging premium prices.
The only upsides of this hotel was a decent breakfast spread (you get charged if you bring any food out of the breakfast room lol) and the location is convenient. But the hotel doesn’t live up to its own advertising or basic hospitality standards. They need to reinvest all the money they’re charging into cleaning, maintenance, and more honesty in their marketing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

EXCELLENT customer service. I have been solo traveling and I tend to get nervous showing up to new hotels/resorts and the staff have been super friendly and helpful. Love the breakfast in the morning and the hotel is super clean!! It is also in a great area! Lots to do around the location:) Thank you so much. Much love from Canada!
