On arrival found our balcony looked onto what can only be described as a war zone , smashed building covered in graffiti wild cats and a dump site , the tiny balcony was bad enough without this view asked to move and was told 650 euro !! Then the aircon unit that has a re used Tupperware box that guests need to empty twice a day or it floods ! The staff were rude eye rolling , saying no better a question was asked ! The pool well it’s not a pool it is a plunge paddling pool with 8 sunbeds for the whole of the hotel to use all in the shade and taken by 8am every day ! So we didn’t use the balcony / pool or concierge service as all very poor ! This hotel is a 3 star been generous please do not waste thousands like we did !
The location is close to town but you need to walk up very steep cobbled streets to get back and there is no other option than to use the beach as the pool is a no go ! 20 euro a day for sunbeds at the beach when we paid for a 4 star adults only hotel very disappointed !!

We returned yesterday after a week's stay. What a wonderful hotel. Paradise found. We have stayed in quality hotels but this is our favourite and I am a very picky and critical person. The views are amazing overlooking the Atlantic which lulled us to sleep every night. With a beautiful sandy beach that stretches for miles and whitewashed buildings nestling on the rocks and town behind. The room was large and bright and had every amenity that we could want, it was immaculately clean and was serviced every day, clean towels and sheets. Great waterfall shower. The restaurant was very comfortable, modern with quality furnishings. Breakfast was a buffet of excellent quality and the a la carte dinner was delicious, 3 courses with two choices for each course. Exceptional waiter service who paid great attention to detail, placing the correct knives for fish and steak courses. Attentive, friendly lovely service, made us feel very special. Beautiful hotel, quiet and relaxing. We can't wait to go back.A very short walk into town but a bit hilly in places.Albufeira old town is lovely, we found some pretty rambling little streets with quiet bars away from the main square.

The Rocamar is in a phenomenal location. We were a short walk away from many sights as well as the beach! The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable (do wish they had true doubles as opposed to singles), but the bathrooms were a little small. Our toilet was in an awkward position next to the sink which would have been difficult to use if you are not a straight sized individual. Otherwise, we had a lovely 4 night stay!

This hotel was in the best possible location great view over the beach... Staff were friendly. Hotel was kept very clean however 2 big things put us off. On arrival we had to leave a 200 euro deposit which we were not informed of until our arrival. Secondly we paid in advance for a breakfast each morning and it seems the only way this hotel can be booked is to take it with breakfast included. Unfortunately the only bad meal we had on our weeks stay was this breakfast. The bacon looked strange and was greasy the saugages were dry and a weird texture the fried eggs were swimming in oil, over cooked and like rubber. The ingredients in the continental selection were low quality. Very disappointing if this holiday can be booked without the breakfast it would make a better holiday....... Breakfast cost is advertised 18.99 a person but we couldn't eat it and ate out at other places, losing out as we paid for breakfast here in advance

Been here a few times but really dissapointed. A few dissapointing issues. Had to pay €200 as deposit, safe extra. Some staff were quite miserable especially at breakfast, breakfast food choice was good but food cold even when just put out. Pool area difficulty getting sunbed as its a small area for the number of rooms. Not able to get ice from bar and no glasses provided in rooms. The good point is the location with good views and location to old town restaurants and bars.
