This place is good yet not so good at the same time! First of all they have awesome activities for kids and a great pool! A restaurant, bars, lovely tennis courts and ect. It's location is in-between of the old town and the new town which is quite helpful!! Now, the rooms had: mold, a cockroach, ants on the sink, and a dead moth!!! And certain seats at the pool cost €10 no FOR A DAY!!!The service was good but the living space was not so much! 3/5. Thank you for still having us though!!!

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent stay at paraiso de Albufeira aparthotel , located at Hotel paraiso , R. Do municipio 8200-161 from [3/7/25] to [8/7/25]. Unfortunately, my experience was far below acceptable standards due to both severe cleanliness issues and a bed bug infestation. We had to cut it short and leave immediately we couldn’t even spend the night!
Upon entering my room, I immediately noticed that it was not properly cleaned. The floors were dirty, the bathroom had visible grime and hair, and the linens appeared to be unwashed. Even more concerning, I discovered bed bugs in the bedding. As a result, I experienced extreme discomfort, which not only ruined my stay but raised serious health and hygiene concerns. We had people screaming down the corridor, multiple things broken and just generally felt rather unsafe.
This experience was both distressing and unacceptable. I expected a safe, clean, and comfortable environment, and the condition of the room fell far short of even the most basic expectations. I took photos and would be happy to share them if needed for further investigation.
well as confirmation that this issue will be addressed immediately to prevent future guests from going through the same ordeal. I also suggest a thorough cleaning and pest control treatment be carried out in the affected room(s) and an overall review of the hotel’s cleanliness. Please check the reviews before staying here!

Avoid at All Costs – Ruined Our Holiday.
We had to cut our trip short by four days and book emergency flights home due to bed bugs and an allergic reaction to the bites. This hotel is filthy, rundown, and absolutely not what it advertises.
Everything from the rooms to the pool was in a shocking state. Cracked tiles around the pool had moss growing from them, and the room was filled with broken furniture and grimy surfaces. The buffet was a complete joke — the food was barely edible and extremely limited, with hygiene that left much to be desired.
Evening entertainment was like something you'd expect from a knockoff butlins kids show— cheap, disorganized, and embarrassing. It felt more like a bad stag do than a family holiday, with rowdy groups partying and openly doing drugs in the hallways until 3am every night.
The only saving grace of the place was the reception staff — genuinely kind, helpful, and clearly trying their best despite the situation. They were apologetic and understanding when we voiced our concerns, but there’s only so much they can do when the entire hotel is in such poor condition.
This is not a family-friendly resort and I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. We’ve never had to leave a holiday early before, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

I'm a travel agent and travel a lot with my job.
Other reviews are correct it's more of a basic 3*, rather than a 4*. I believe the rating is from the old rating, where the ratings were based on what they offer a customer, which have now changed since TripAdvisor.
Back in the day, you can see that this was a really good hotel. But very little has been done to it since, with its up keep and moderation.
✈️If you like your holidays based on staying at your hotel on an all inclusive. I don't think this is the hotel for you. The facilities are nothing compared to modern day 4* all inclusive hotels,
✈️If you are someone who just uses the hotel as a base. This is great, as the kitchen is basic but enough for what you need and a large supermarket and fast food options just a short walk away. Beach and old town Albufeira is about a 10minute walk down hill.
TIP) For about six Euros all day use, there is the tourist train. Pick up a short walk away and it's good for getting around. Takes you to the beach area and another 4 points. Great if you are trying to save time if on a short trip.

I booked this hotel for a family holiday, as it was advertised as such. It is not a family friendly hotel now, even if it was in the past.
Rooms were fine, service was fine, and it is a very good location - my problems are for things that I am not afforded a star rating to mark on
I wish I had done some more research before booking a holiday to this area and with this hotel.
This hotel is advertised on many websites as a "Family Friendly" hotel and while that may have been the case a few years ago it certainly isn't the case now.
The staff in the hotel were mostly very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. There is a kids club but our 9 year old looked at the listed activities and had no interest.
The real issue however is that it has absolutely been taken over by stags, hens, and "young people" holidays, despite the hotels own website listing the fact they are not allowed.
Now, I don't want to sound like a stick in the mud, far from it. People are entitled to their holidays, and if I was on a stag, or if I was reliving my younger years, I think this would be an ideal destination. It is not what I signed up for though, so I was very disappointed.
During the day the hotel was relatively quiet, so the pool was easily accessible. but there are strict rules about no outside food at the pool bar, whose prices are quite high compared to the rest of Albufeira (e.g. €5 for a beer about 400ml when a proper beer was usually €3 elsewhere - €9 for a slushie).
The hotel is more a group of apartments, which we were told was one reason why they could not do much about night time noise and parties.
Located a short walk from Old Town and from The Strip, which is probably why it is so popular for groups. It was still a benefit for us too as we went to Old Town quite a bit during the day.
The few local people we spoke to seem to be of the opinion that the town has been taken over by parties. It is hard to disagree, and while there is still a lot of things for families to do, I think a look at a different part of the Algarve would have been better for us, and for other families.
