I recently stayed at this MGM Hotel in Albufeira, Portugal, and unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Not once did they attempt a polite conversation—instead, we were met with death stares any time we asked a question from the moment we arrived.
At one point on the day we had arrived, we simply asked where the all inclusive bar was, and the staff member shrugged and said, “I don’t know”… despite clearly working there. The attitude throughout our stay was unhelpful and dismissive.
The food provided under the “all-inclusive” deal was another huge letdown. Everything we were served was stone cold—not once did we receive a hot meal, which made the dining experience very unpleasant.
To make matters worse, we were told we needed to sign a document stating a €100 refundable deposit per apartment. But then we were suddenly told we had to pay €100 per person, which wasn’t explained in the paperwork. After asking around, we discovered other guests wasn’t asked for this—so it felt like we were being unfairly targeted.
All in all, this hotel completely failed to meet basic standards of hospitality, communication, and transparency. I would strongly advise choosing a different place to stay in Albufeira.

Stayed here for my first visit to Portugal and the service was 10/10! Receptionist rob, Jean and Carla were extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating! I needed help with surprise birthday arrangements and they were more than accommodating! The food options are immaculate but if you want to eat from the speciality restaurants try and reserve it on the first day because they’re booked weeks ahead and we didn’t get to try one. The rooms are slightly older than pictured but overall a very great experience and I’ll recommend 10/10

Emailed about a lost item numerous times and never received any information or contact from the hotel. Very disappointed with the systems in place to get in contact directly with the hotel.
The all-inclusive was below average with the buffet being just satisfactory and the additional restaurants being sup-par as the portion were quite small and was limited drinks and menu.
Wouldnt go to this hotel again.
The reception staff were lovely but the staff in the restaurants seemed quite unhappy and pushed for personal reviews via QR code even after below average service.
The room was neat and clean but the bathroom and shower was outdated and partially stained from age.
The location of the hotel was ok (10 min walk from strip) but would definetly recommend going closer to old town in going to stay in albuferia. Both old town and new strip are party oriented and i wouldnt recommend it for a family holiday.

A nice hotel. Nice rooms but need updating. Food served in the next MGM hotel. But a good choice of food. Pool bar. Nice pool. About 10min in taxi to the town and old town. It costs €6 each way.

We had a nice experience at the teppanyaki garden thanks to Andrea.
Clearly the best food experience with the MGM culinary expériences ( food quality).
Advice: book it as soon as you arrive in your MGM because hard to book.
Andrea made a great show, always caring about all the guests.
