I strongly advise against staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Marbella. This trip was an absolute disaster from the moment we arrived, and I’ve never experienced such disregard for guests—especially from a hotel that claims to be 4 stars.
We had booked 3 rooms. Upon arrival, one of the bathrooms was disgustingly dirty: there was a used razor covered in hair (obviously not ours) and black stains in the bathtub. We reported it multiple times to Guest Services, but nothing was done for two full days. In the end, my wife had to clean it herself, because no one from the staff took responsibility. Absolutely unacceptable.
In my own room, the air conditioning smelled horrendous, making the room unbearable in the heat. And again no fix, no offer to change rooms, no help whatsoever.
The closet door was also faulty, getting stuck every time we tried to open it. Small detail, maybe, but it added to the long list of maintenance issues that show how poorly the hotel is managed.
Worst of all was the complete lack of empathy and basic human decency from the staff. My mother, who is currently undergoing chemotherapy, was staying in one of the rooms. On the day of checkout, I simply asked if we could keep one room a bit longer so she could rest before our departure. They coldly refused—no flexibility, no understanding, no compassion whatsoever. Not even a symbolic gesture.
This hotel hides behind its brand name, but behind the image is poor hygiene, nonexistent customer service, and zero professionalism. I have never been more disappointed in a hotel stay. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

In terms of what you pay and get in return, it’s not for me. Rooms are alright, you’re not here to stay in your room, walk in shower was nice. Music is decent, decor around is good. Buffet breakfast is what you would expect.
Pools and seats are good, no fighting for anything. Location is good, €7 max to go to the marina in a cab and hit the bars etc. plenty of cabs around and hotel has a rank outside it.
Service was less than to be desired. They try to push table service, but you have to go to the bar to order? End up waiting 45mins for a round of drinks, only for one of us to go to the bar and get drinks straight away. One waiter tried to pocket €17 euros change until we pulled him up! If you’re going to pay €15 a drink, which you can get at the pub opposite for half the price, it needs to be much better. It’s not as if it was even busy.
Would I stay here again? No, I wouldn’t unfortunately, I expected much more from an established name. Also, be mindful of the deposit you need to do… that came as a big shock forking out £316 for 3 nights, which is unreasonable IMO. This is refundable and due to come back, but be mindful if you book through a travel operator as none of us were aware. Not the hotels fault, but that cost isn’t justifiable.

Was nervous prior to arriving due to reading mixed reviews (seemed like a lot of AI reviews mixed in with more genuine negative reviews) but have been so pleasantly surprised. Staff are great, check in was a breeze, room is great, drinks prices and service around the pool is great. There’s the downstairs pool if you want more of a party atmosphere and the infinity roof pool for a more chilled out vibe. Breakfast buffet is good - nothing special but definitely above average for a hotel buffet. The subway underpass thing is a bit daunting but honestly not that big of a deal in the daytime. Having a great stay will definitely come back (visiting early May bank holiday weekend 2025)

I had an amazing experience at Hard Rock Hotel! Everything was impeccable, from the comfort of the room to the vibrant atmosphere and excellent services. The staff is extremely attentive and professional, and Bea, in particular, was exceptional – dedicated, friendly, and always paying attention to details. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect stay.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place where luxury, comfort, and top-notch hospitality come together perfectly! I can’t wait to come back!
