Avoid at All Costs – This Is NOT a 4-Star Hotel
I honestly don’t know how this hotel has so many good reviews—it’s obvious a lot of them are fake. Our experience was terrible from the start.
On the first night, we found ants in our beds. Disgusting. We were moved to a different room, only to be put back in our original one the next day. When we returned, we discovered that our phone charger had mysteriously gone missing—even though no one else had stayed in that room.
Then came the rooftop pool bar incident, which was beyond unacceptable. I was served grey, undercooked chicken, and when I politely asked for it to be changed, the staff mocked me and acted insulted. Not wanting to risk food poisoning again, I requested a pizza instead. The same staff members laughed at us behind the bar and never actually placed the order. After waiting 25 minutes, we had to chase it up—only for the manager to tell us they had no idea about a pizza being ordered.
And if that wasn’t enough, on our last day, the lifeguard Roberto started swearing at me in Spanish just because I forgot my towel card. Completely unprofessional.
The service is horrible, the staff are arrogant, and the hotel is absolutely not 4-star quality. The food is appalling. Hygiene is questionable. Save your money and DO NOT STAY HERE.

Poor value for money – disappointing experience!
The price-performance ratio is way off! The hotel has old, worn-out rooms and poor service. The hallways are narrow and musty. In my room, the air conditioning didn’t work on the first night, and the temperature reached 30°C (86°F). It was unbearable, so I had to sleep by the pool.
After repeatedly complaining, I was offered a late check-out two days later as compensation. However, my return flight from Málaga was at 10:00 a.m., making the offer pointless. Alternatively, they suggested a possible “special treatment” on a future stay – but the issue occurred during this stay, and no real compensation was provided.
The only positive aspect was the breakfast, which fully met expectations.

Disappointing Start, But a Great Finish at Hard Rock Hotel
Our stay began with some confusion at check-in. Our original booking had mistakenly been made for a twin room instead of a double. The receptionist was kind and acknowledged the issue, and since no standard double rooms were available, she said she would upgrade us to a Deluxe room with a king bed — which we appreciated — and we paid an extra fee for it.
However, when we arrived at the room, we found two single beds pushed together. We had mentioned we were in a rush, so it was frustrating to realize the room wasn’t what had just been confirmed. This led to further delays as we had to go back to reception to sort it out.
At that point, another staff member informed us that there were no Deluxe rooms available and that an upgrade wasn’t possible — despite the upgrade being offered and confirmed minutes earlier. The lack of consistency and communication was disappointing and avoidable.
After spending the first night in the small room, we decided to upgrade again — this time to a Studio Suite. While it came at an additional cost, it completely transformed our stay. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and offered a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
While the start was frustrating, the suite upgrade truly changed everything, and the remainder of our stay was excellent. We just wish the experience had started this way.

We stayed in this great property as we were attending a pool party event. The event was great!! Memorable time!! But nothing like the exceptional service, attention and care we received from the staff. To mention Fahd (the duty manager) who went far and beyond to accomodate our needs, Aurelio (the F&B manager) who made us feel like home. Me most sincere congratulations for the great staff you have!! A MUST IF YOU PASS BY MARBELLA!!!

In terms of what you pay and get in return, it’s not for me. Rooms are alright, you’re not here to stay in your room, walk in shower was nice. Music is decent, decor around is good. Buffet breakfast is what you would expect.
Pools and seats are good, no fighting for anything. Location is good, €7 max to go to the marina in a cab and hit the bars etc. plenty of cabs around and hotel has a rank outside it.
Service was less than to be desired. They try to push table service, but you have to go to the bar to order? End up waiting 45mins for a round of drinks, only for one of us to go to the bar and get drinks straight away. One waiter tried to pocket €17 euros change until we pulled him up! If you’re going to pay €15 a drink, which you can get at the pub opposite for half the price, it needs to be much better. It’s not as if it was even busy.
Would I stay here again? No, I wouldn’t unfortunately, I expected much more from an established name. Also, be mindful of the deposit you need to do… that came as a big shock forking out £316 for 3 nights, which is unreasonable IMO. This is refundable and due to come back, but be mindful if you book through a travel operator as none of us were aware. Not the hotels fault, but that cost isn’t justifiable.
