If you get a room in the building close to the sea it is amazing. The rooms behind the plaza next to the street are not that nice. The food is very good. Their sports offer from LesMiles is great. The gym is amazing. But the room for the courses to small. I missed some team sports like volleyball or football. But all in all a great place to do sports and relax. I will come again.

We stayed at the Barcelo Active Resort for 10 nights with our family—two adults and two children. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by several issues. Firstly, the sofa bed provided as a second bed was extremely uncomfortable. It had a flimsy mattress and a gap at the top, causing pillows to fall through during the night. For a hotel that markets itself as a 4-star resort, I was surprised and disappointed that such a poor-quality sofa bed was offered instead of an actual bed. This was a major drawback and negatively impacted our stay.
Secondly, the quality of the food was very disappointing. Most dishes were overcooked, including the paella, which was consistently subpar and appeared on the menu nightly. While the fish dishes were of acceptable quality, they were bland and lacked flavour. The meat dishes were a particular letdown—overcooked and tasteless. The pasta dishes were undercooked, with sauces that showed no effort in delivering flavour. On a slightly positive note, the desserts were decent, and the salad selection was generous, which helped compensate for the otherwise lacklustre main courses.
On the positive side, the staff—both in catering and entertainment—were fantastic. Their warm and welcoming attitude significantly enhanced our experience. Additionally, the availability of sunbeds around the pool was excellent; we never had an issue securing one, which was a pleasant surprise.
Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the issues with the accommodation and food quality overshadowed them. I would rate the resort 3 stars based on the reasons outlined above.

The rooms are really nice and the hotel it’s self is lovely. Pools are clean and there are plenty of sun-beds. If you were paying for a self catering holiday it’s perfect..
if you’ve paid for an all inclusive like we did you will be very disappointed because the food is terrible. We’ve stayed at many all inclusive resorts and I have certain expectations from a buffet, you expect the food to be good/ok which is a reasonable expectation but the food here is poor/bad and there have been occasions where I had to remove food from my mouth back to my plate because of how bad it was. We’ve ended up eating out 3 of the 4 nights because the food is that bad. You can scape by at breakfast if u have a full English or toast.
Like I said. Great hotel for self catering but absolutely awful for people who pay for all inclusive unless you drink your tastebuds numb.. then you’ll be fine.
The drinks were fine, decent beer and the wine was alright.

Here right now, in a family suite.
On arrival we checked in to a very nice welcoming reception. We are here with friends . One set a 3 like us and in a room the same as us ….. (well! Not like ours ,there’s is clean and functional)
The other a two have a double room, which I have to say is modern, grown up and clean.
Fast forward ,we go for dinner, nice selection of various dishes and prompt drinks service.
We go back to our room for a bathroom stop only to find the sliding door once closed will not open … I’m actually stuck in there!!! Phone on the side in the bedroom!
After about 5 minutes my partner comes in and has to pull the door with force to open it. We then have a good look around the room, as up until now we literally checked in, brought our cases up and went for dinner .
I think I will just let the pictures do the talking….
This room is decorated in what can only be described as a kids nursery Vinyl sofa and cubes?🤷🏻♀️
The room divider is broken ( screwed so you can not open it )
To say this room is tired is an understatement!!!
The male member of staff that we spoke to made me feel like it is our fault £3,500 our fault!
He was rude, unhelpful and well….pointless!
( he was doing something with passports ? And put one on the counter, pushed it towards me …. I picked it up 🙈 thinking it was mine or something 🤷🏻♀️ ….. I could have just walked away with it . I said what’s this , it’s not mine (I opened it as I thought, why had he got me passport) he then shouted at me! Why did I touch it? “Because you pushed it towards me” I said .
Oh I could go on, outcome is ….. NO we can’t move you, someone at some point will mend the door… ( they are busy) it’s 10-15 pm!!! No you can’t upgrade!
Basically, shut up , put up and (possibly) tomorrow we can do something.
Tell you what, I’ll just write an honest review and post pictures…
Day Two: What a difference a day makes… we went to reception to see if a move to a new room was possible.
We were greeted by the most polite receptionist, who was familiar with our problem from the night before… she said that management wound like to assist directly also. On our meeting the first words were “please accept our apologies “ …. To be fair, that would have been enough. However, no… we went to the suite where it was agreed that indeed the room was not the best it could be and pictures were taken ( for maintenance I guess) I was told some rooms ( ours being one of them) are still awaiting refurbishment.
Seriously, the 3 ladies could not do enough to remedy the situation.
We were shown two rooms and had the choice…
I can not tell you how professionally everything was handled.
Thank you for your understanding, apologies and having a heart 🥰

The first thing to mention is the staff here are very good indeed. The rooms are spacious and are serviced frequently. Live entertainment is very good and restaurant staff are excellent. The hotel complex is kept in good order. All in all our holiday has been very good indeed.
