Location was ok, we spent most of the day out at the beach. Staff were not pleasant but I think that's because fellow customers were equally unpleasant with drunkeness. There was just a negative vibe and we had to spend all our time elsewhere. Valuable item of clothing taken from the room. Pool was too cold to use so I would have been better off paying for an apartment elsewhere. My 4 year old had a great time but the first night he didn't sleep as he wasn't given a blanket. They begrudgingly gave us a blanket but I did not request anything else as they were so difficult. Beds were very hard and our room smelled mouldy, I left with a bad back. Some mystery charges were placed on my card by SMY that reception could not explain. Food was ok half the time, the other half you wouldn't feed your pet, a real gamble. Resteraunt staff are more like bouncers than helpful. It gets a star for the lovely yoga teacher Christiana, she tried her best and was from an external company. This place is ok if you want a base to go walking and swimming elsewhere but only if you get a very cheap rate. It's a shame as its so near to a beautiful beach and a beautiful sunrise they should change that horrid green fence, it felt like prison. I like the simple traditional Architecture but they really need to improve their external landscaping for safety and SMY need to support their staff who are I think trying their best.

The Smy Tahona is a beautiful resort. The food is good, and the selection of drinks is also good.
However, Nicholas, at the bar and sometimes in the restaurant, is very unfriendly and even aggressive at times.
If he doesn't want to work, he should quit. He is disrespectful to the guests. No hello, no thank you, no please—disrespectful.
He insults people in Spanish because he thinks they don't understand him.
After five stays at the hotel, we will not be returning because of him.
Making fun of disabled people is unacceptable—absolutely disrespectful!
Shame on you, Nicolas!

Update on the feedback:
I went to reception two times to clarify the issue, but no one contacted me. The Management had five days to respond—nothing happened.
What more can a guest do to be heard?
Therefore, this review was my last Optio for providing open feedback.
In conclusion, I simply hope you get what you deserve.

Wow what a place! and thats not in a positive way either!
Family of 4 staying for a week.
I'm far from "posh" and understand that this is only a 3 star hotel. Stayed in a few.
I honestly would not give this hotel even a 1 star. But unfortunately have to, to be able to post.
Arrived at 11.30am. Room had apparently just been cleaned.
Floor filthy.
Bugs on pillow.
Bogies wiped on wall in bedroom.
Bath does not drain when taking a shower.
Shower head fixing hanging off wall to the point when the shower was switched on it sprayed the whole bathroom. (Fixed at 9pm) after asking several times.
Bathroom cleanliness is DISGUSTING! Had to go buy cleaning products and try do my best in there.
Extra blankets were stained, hairs on,and stunk fusty.
When i took said blanket to show receptionist, the (food manager) aggressively snatched it out of my hand, muttering something.
Paint coming off the bottom of pool.
Local cats drinking from pool.
Have to pay for pizza at pool side.
The food is awful. Surely everyone knows how to cook abit of spaghetti, well not these guys. Hard and dry.
No kiddie options really. Just chips.
Chicken was still raw.(pink fleshy) But was fine apparently as reached 70 on the probe.
Potato wedges still raw.
Avoid poolside room if you have younger children, our wardrobe doors were vibrating with the beat. No exaggerating either.
When I tried to express my concerns regarding the room, i was told we are extremely rude people and basically nothing done about it.
ROLL ON HOME TIME!

I invited on the holiday a person who became drunk and violent. This was unexpected and scary for me as I was also with my 9 year old autistic son. I was hesitant but I asked reception at 4 am to be moved because I could not bare it anymore. My son couldn't be at peace either. The way the security man and the director responded was immediate and efficient. I was moved to another room temporarily for the night and then I was back in our room when the other guest was removed from the premises. The staff at the bar Ivis, her husband Leicer, Mario, Iona and Antonio, even the bar manager Alejandro was the loveliest person to talk to. I felt supported and not alone for the rest of the week. I also want to thank Rosa at the restaurant for allowing my autistic son to take food out from the buffet when he didn't want to go in. The chef Juan (Cuban ex professor) was also very kind and friendly, made sure to let me know what was going to be on the menu so I could plan. There was a cleaning lady who went above and beyond, not only cleaning but also supporting me emotionally when she saw me cry. Her name is Liliana, I feel she deserves a raise. I haven't met such an honest and loving woman who made me feel at home. Everyone was so amazing I left tips for all of them.

Extremely disappointed — robbed by housekeeping staff
I’ve stayed at this hotel four times and always loved it, but this visit has completely changed my opinion. During our stay, two items of clothing and 50 euros were taken from our room, and it was clear the housekeeping staff were responsible, as no one else had access. They had gone through my personal belongings and taken them from my wardrobe and travel bag packed away ontop of the safe. I had worn these 2 items of clothing already this holiday and was taken in the space of 2 days.
We reported it immediately, but the hotel’s response was unhelpful and dismissive. There was no sense of urgency or accountability, and we were left feeling completely let down.
You don’t go on holiday to be robbed by the very people meant to look after your room. It’s such a shame, because we used to really enjoy coming here — but after this experience, we will never return.
I hope management takes this seriously and improves their security and staff oversight, because no guest should have to experience this.
