Went in late May and was a superb location for a family holiday. Lots to do in the resort and lots accessible by hire car around the island to explore.
Food is perfect for a family, lots of choice and all very tasty. The place is well maintained and our room was excellent. We had a double with a split sofa bed for our two boys (7/11). Atmosphere is great, friendly and helpful staff, pools (all 5 of them!) are varied and never too busy.

Excellent hotel with super friendly staff. The rooms are very nice, well kept, and designed for comfort — each building has only two floors, so every room comes with either a terrace or balcony. It’s generally very quiet and at times even feels surprisingly private.
We stayed on a half board basis and really enjoyed the food. Breakfast offered a great variety of options to suit different tastes.
The pools were clean and well maintained, though we mostly preferred spending time at the hotel’s private beach, which was a real highlight.
There’s also a kids club, a mini train (paid) that takes you to two nearby destinations, and a few useful on-site amenities like a small shop, a mini supermarket, and a car rental office.
Overall, a great stay. The only small suggestion would be for the hotel to offer free water during dinner — it’s a minor point, but would make the experience even better. Other than that, everything was excellent and we would definitely recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic hotel. The staff are all helpful & friendly, the food was great & rooms kept spotlessly clean. There are 3 pools & 3 restaurants & a private section of beach so plenty of choice for food & activities. The only recommendation for improvement would be if they could offer a washing machine / laundry facilities. Otherwise 10 out of 10 & will definitely recommend to friends & family.

So I have to say that our experience of Pilot beach resort has left us feeling, to be honest very short changed as we were looking to a major improvement on our holiday last year and being wowed with great food and wonderful service! We holidayed last year in Fueterventura in a 3 star hotel and I have stayed previously in a 5 star hotel in Cyprus and sadly for us Pilot beach is much closer to the 3 star experience.
I'll start with the food, 3 restaurants 2 of which are buffet style (Kronos and Gialos) and while there is a lot of good quality fresh salad/fruit and deserts etc the hot dish choice is quite similar, not appealing or appetising and lacks any real flavour and are not even that hot (borderline cold). The à la carte restaurant (Adialine) when we looked at the menu only has 2 dishes per day on offer which are broadly the same as the buffet food on offer so we abstained from that.
The other restaurant on the beach (Gialos) is reservation only and while the views are stunning overlooking the sea, it's a smaller buffet choice with the same food as the main dining room (Kronos restaurant) which had us questioning why the reservation bit?
Really disappointing food from a 5 star hotel as we were looking forward to eating really well. Considering the location is remote and no real other options to eat either the food should be much better than it is.
Food 2/5
Service: So this is an area which has been very lacking if I'm honest. Clearly the hotel is short staffed in terms of dining room staff and bar staff with tables not made up on arrival and long waits at an empty bar.
Very long waits to order/receive drinks at meal times and we got the impression they only want to give you 1 drink. Even the drinks themselves feel cheap (all soft drinks out of large bottles so are nearly always flat) I fancied a mojito today and mine was topped up with water.
Some positives, the room was always cleaned promptly by a friendly team and the ladies on the front desk are very helpful, and the concierge drives you to your room and takes bags upstairs for you which is a nice touch.
Some of the dining staff are very good they are just overworked and understaffed.
Service wise not a 5 star experience at all, poor drink selection/not enough staff to deliver the service needed.
Service 2/5
The hotel itself is pretty clean and tidy with plenty of kids club options available and evening entertainment. Beach is beautiful and clean and seconds walk from the hotel. Rooms are reasonable with good AC in them which is a must! Also the abundance of pools is a massive plus, however some of the parasol/loungers are broken and probably need replacing but other than that the hotel itself isn't too bad but I would still struggle to give it a 5 star rating, maybe a 4.
Hotel 3.5/5
All in all the expectation was not matched by the reality of our stay and we expected so much more. By no means the worst place I have stayed but certainly not the 5 star it claims to be which is the biggest disappointment for us and the main reason we wouldn't come back.

We had very high hopes, after reading the reviews.
This review is based on our family of 6, personal , honest experience. (3 adults and 3 children all under 8)
Date: May 19-May 26th 2025.
Start with the good bits!
swimming pools very clean, lots of sun loungers, plenty of pools across the resort .
*No life guard by our pool(room 4311).
The beach is beautiful, clean, lots of sun loungers.
kids club staff, tristan was very kind and friendly.
The bar staff, michelle and damion at the main bar, were very friendly and helpful.
Room was a good size, the housekeepers were very sweet.
The not so good bits we personally experienced .Only 1 small lift, long waits when your disabled and have a pram!
Across the 3 Restaurants, majority of the staff came across very rude, unhelpful and trying to ask for just water seemed a very disgruntled task and took a while to receive.
The restaurant at breakfast and dinner was chaos.
No clean tables, most nights had to wait in a que outside, whilst waiting for staff to help clear the tables.
Only 2 single coffee machines in the whole resort to use within the restaurant , when we asked for coffee on numerous occasions it never arrived, this wasn’t a a one off, over several days. One of the days, i was then told to get it myself from the machine, where there was a constant que.
1x orange/apple/water drink machine, long ques, very slow!
No cocktails are included on the all inclusive, very very limited drinks are.
Drink costs are wildly expensive.
Fizzy drinks are poured from a bottle, left on the side, usually very warm and flat.
No drinks available around any other pools, bar the main pool.
When requesting water for the room from the housekeepers limited to 1 bottle !
Overall seemed as if they were making it as hard as possible to get a drink across the whole resort , you have to sign and tablet each time you ask for a drink, give room number ect, which made it really long winded, when you just want a bottle of water.
Plenty of food choices, it was not great food, but did find something less than mediocre to eat.
Kids evening entertainment is located away from main area, with no toilet facilities or drink facilities.
The evening entertainment was lacking, there was nothing on a friday night that we were there.
Whole site seemed,Very slow at cleaning up after high winds, i reported a broken wooden umbrella outside our room, twice , 2 days later it was still there with sharp wood coming from the ground, had to cover it with a couple sun lounger, to prevent kids potentially getting hurt.
Over all we were really disappointed with the lack of service, rude staff and the utter chaos at breakfast dinner time, made it very stressful.
location is ok. taxi to town is only 8 euros.
I would say it’s more 3/4* defiantly not a 5*.
We would not return nor recommend it.
