It’s our first and last holiday in this hotel.
When we arrived here we were very happy, but when we saw the rooms, our smile quickly disappeared.
We asked for a family room with view of the garden, but we did not get that. Only one room of the 2 has air conditioning and a socket/power point where you can charge your phone.
We paid extra for the wifi, but it barely works in the room and it doesn’t work at the restaurant.
The food at the restaurant is not good. Some things are okay, but most of them are just not yummy or don’t have a lot of taste.
The staff is not very friendly, especially at the bar. And you would think all inclusive, but you have to pay extra for almost every cocktail.
The pool is saltwater.
You have to pay a lot extra for things that you expect not to.
It’s a hotel you stay at if you are going to a lot of things and not stay in the hotel all the time
The location is good though, i recommend to hire a scooter so that it’s easier to get to the small city. The city is very nice.

Holiday from Hell! – Do Not Go
We booked this so-called “all inclusive” holiday through Corendon, and it turned into a nightmare the moment we stepped into the hotel. At check-in, they charged us an extra €70 for no reason.
• Room doors are unsafe, fire extinguishers are expired.
• Beds are old, dirty, zero hygiene. The bathroom and toilet are disgusting; shower gel and shampoo are the same thing, and there is not even soap provided.
• The air conditioning barely works, almost useless.
• Safe box is extra, the fridge is broken, and if it worked, they would charge for it anyway.
• Internet is extra, pool towels are extra, and all the beaches nearby are private and cost money.
• Their so-called “all inclusive” is a scam: no real cold cola, just cheap syrup. The food is the same every single day, tasteless and awful.
• Guests look frustrated and unhappy everywhere.
This hotel does not offer a holiday, it offers misery. Our vacation was completely ruined here. If you don’t want your time and money wasted, stay away from Hotel Mediterraneo, Hersonissos!

Pros:
The hotel is a bit older, but the rooms and grounds are kept clean and well maintained. Overall, it feels tidy and looked after. There’s plenty of food available, and dishes are replenished when they run out. The location is lovely – perched on a small hill with sea views from almost everywhere. The beach is about a 5-minute walk (around 400 meters), and we really enjoyed the soft sandy shore.
Cons:
When we arrived in the evening, we had dinner but found there was no drinking water available in the room, nor anywhere to get it. Only the next day were we told that bottled water could be purchased at the bar (€2 per bottle, while the same bottle in a shop costs €1.50). So, regardless of your arrival time, you’ll need to arrange your own drinking water.
There are two swimming pools, but they’re always busy and sunbeds are almost impossible to find free. Food variety could be better — although the buffet theme changes daily, in reality it’s usually just one new dish, while the rest feels like a repeat of earlier meals with a different sauce or mixed into pasta. After a week, it does feel a bit repetitive.
Another downside: we wanted to order a takeaway lunch pack for our early trip the next morning, but were told it can only be requested before 5 PM. The receptionist then suggested we could come to the restaurant at 6 AM and there would be something to eat. Unfortunately, when we showed up, nothing was available — so we left hungry. I honestly don’t know what guests are expected to do if they arrive outside meal hours, but it seems you just have to go without food.
The air conditioning is very outdated, and since the electricity only works with the room key, it takes around two hours to properly cool down the room, which can be frustrating after a hot day. The fridge in the room was also a letdown — completely empty, not even a bottle of water provided on arrival.
Overall:
The hotel has a great location with nice views and a pleasant beach nearby, and it is reasonably well maintained. However, the lack of basic conveniences like water on arrival, limited food flexibility, outdated facilities, and crowded pool areas make the experience less comfortable than it could be. With some service improvements, it could be a much better stay.

Our stay at Mediterraneo Hotel in Hersonissos this August 2025 was absolutely terrible and I strongly advise anyone to avoid this place. From the moment we arrived, everything was a disaster. We were hit with an unexpected “tourist tax” of 70 euros at check-in, which was never mentioned before booking. On top of that, the hotel charges extra for basic things like Wi-Fi, lockers, and even beach towels. The food was awful – repetitive, old, and often felt unsafe to eat. The hygiene and cleanliness were shocking: towels were never changed, the room was not cleaned properly, and the baby bed they gave us was covered in mold, which is completely unacceptable for families with children. The air conditioner in our room barely worked, leaving it hot and uncomfortable, especially at night. To make matters worse, the hotel is completely disorganized, the facilities are outdated, and the staff were unhelpful and seemed clueless whenever asked for assistance. The most concerning issue, however, was safety – the fire extinguishers were so old and out of date, clearly not maintained, which is a serious risk in case of emergency (I even have photos of this). Nothing about this hotel is professional, safe, or welcoming. It was without doubt one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Don’t waste your money or your holiday here – avoid this hotel at all costs.

We deeply regret choosing Hotel Mediterraneo in Hersonissos. Despite clearly requesting a room near the elevator (due to mobility issues), we were given a room far away, only accessible via many stairs – completely unsuitable.
The room itself was filthy: old, poorly maintained, and infested with bugs. There were dead insects under the bed, cockroaches running around, and thick cobwebs hanging from the lamps. Completely unacceptable.
The food was also a major letdown: the same dishes every day, served lukewarm and lacking any real taste. We could barely eat any of it. On top of that, the staff – especially at the bar – were rude and unhelpful.
In our opinion, this hotel doesn’t deserve any stars, let alone four. We strongly advise others to avoid this place. Save your money and choose a better hotel. For us, definitely never again!
