Pros + : Clean hotel, big buffet (breakfast & dinner), they had a lot of vegetarian options! Big pool, friendly staff
Cons - : the location is 1 hour and 15 minutes on foot away from Herakleion center, it's a tourist area there and there are not many things to do. Taxi from there to Herakleion is 14€. Also, they have some cats on the terrace which seemed to be sick. It would be nice if the cats were taken care of, because they climb on the tables.

Everything was super. Nice, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Wide variety of food. Well-kept area. Excellent location. Nearby there is a taxi rank and a bunch of different shops. The only negative that is not related to the hotel is the path to the beach. It would not be bad if If only someone would clean it up)

rooms: we used a superior room and it was definitely of an economy standard. there is no shelf for cosmetics in the bathroom and there is a constant stench from the sewage. comfortable beds. cleaned every day and generally clean. food: monotonous, little choice and everything tasted the same. service: definitely the biggest advantage of this hotel. very nice people, especially the lady serving the pool bar - an extremely nice and warm person. location: another strong point of the hotel. very close to Heraklion. You can get there by city bus from the hotel. very close to a huge beach with all infrastructure.

The food is also great and varied. Large apartments. Nice and big pool. Great service all around! Best wishes from Lithuania!

Myself and my fiancée (at the time of writing this review) are currently staying here for 7 days, it’s not only our first time to Crete but also our first time abroad. We’re around half way into our little holiday and we’ve been very impressed with the staff for making us feel welcome especially with the language barrier, although we have been slowly learning Greek 😁.
Our room is next to the pool and overlooks the front of the hotel, it has air conditioning and well, everything you need really, the rooms come with a daily maid service and always come back to a nice and clean room! 5 stars!
The pool is great, we enjoyed sunbathing and swimming when we wasn’t out exploring Crete and everything that the island has to offer. Near the pool is a pool bar, it offers snacks and drinks throughout the day, we thoroughly enjoyed the crepes with chocolate sauce (there is other options) we had at least one everyday, during the evening and into the night time, they make kebabs, we also had at least one every night, they was so good!! I think it’s probably one of the foods that we’ll miss since nothing in the UK seems to compare!! 5 stars for the pool bar staff and food!!
We’re staying here all inclusive and have really enjoyed the variety of dishes served everyday, we pretty much tried everything that was on offer and found it delicious! 5 stars!!
We went into Heraklion on the bus, there is a bus stop near the hotel entrance and a kiosk where you can buy your bus tickets, everything was really easy and accessible!! We are planning on coming back in the future!! Thank you Hotel Marilena!!! 🇬🇷
