We’ve just come back from 4 nights at the Grand Blue Hotel in Kardamena, Kos, and honestly, we only have good things to say about it. We had such a great experience and would definitely recommend this hotel!
First of all, the location is perfect — only 15 minutes from the airport, which made everything so easy and stress-free from the moment we arrived.
The hotel itself is huge, beautiful, and has amazing sea views. We stayed in a spacious suite with a balcony overlooking the sea, and waking up to that view every morning was lovely.
One of the best parts was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, smiling all the time, approachable, and genuinely helpful. You can really feel the good atmosphere there.
And the food… honestly, as a chef myself, I can be quite picky with food, but I genuinely have nothing to complain about. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all buffet style with so many options, and everything we tried was delicious. I ate very, very well! The all inclusive is great — snacks, sandwiches, cakes, drinks… you can basically eat and drink all day long.
The pools are fantastic too, the one almost right in front of the beach, with live music at night, really nice atmosphere. And if you walk a little further along the beach, you’ll find a lovely sandy area perfect for swimming in the sea. Definitely worth it!
Another thing we loved is that the hotel is only around a 10-minute walk from Kardamena town( we always back by taxi- 7€) which is such a cute little place full of shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets(close at 11pm) and boats by the marina. It’s hard to believe somewhere so charming is just a short walk away.
We also highly recommend eating at Vicolo Pizza — absolutely delicious!
The only small thing to mention is that the hotel is built on a hillside, so there is a bit of walking and some uphill paths. But honestly, after eating so much good food, it’s probably needed 😂 And they also have golf carts constantly driving guests around the hotel, which makes it very easy and convenient.
Overall, we had an amazing stay. We got a great deal including flights, everything went smoothly, and we genuinely have zero complaints. We would happily come back again.
Highly recommend Grand Blue Hotel!
Kind regards,

Reception is top, best service by far. Didka at the restaurant deserves a raise for her impeccable energy. We will be back for sure, the island is lovely and the hotel great value for money. Infinite access to premium drinks is underrated

We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay at the Grand Blue Beach Hotel and would return in the future, without a doubt.
The rooms are spacious & modern, with great sea views overlooking Turkey & some of the other Greek islands in the distance. You could sit for hours on the well sized balcony. We slept amazingly well during our stay, the beds are comfy & a great size too. My only criticism of the room is the shower, which could be cleaner & updated to more modern standards.
All of the staff are super friendly & extremely helpful in the bars & restaurants. The service was always fast, there was very rarely a queue at any of the bars, even during busier serving hours.
The food wasn't great at the hotel, if you paid for an all inclusive package, you may be disappointed, as there wasn't a huge selection of food on the buffet each day. The options at meal times are repetitive & often taste quite bland. Luckily, Kardamena is only a 10-15 minute walk away, where there are a wide variety of bars & restaurants to choose from, with much tastier options, especially for an evening meal.
We enjoyed having the choice of 3 very clean & well maintained pools, each with a different vibe, plus a nearby pool bar to all of them.
The location of the hotel is great for those wanting to venture out, whether that be to the nearby beach, the waterpark or just Kardamena itself. It is on quite a steep hill, which we didn't mind tackling every day. For those who struggle walking, there are golf buggies buzzing around the hotel grounds to give you a lift if needed.
There's also plenty of parking available, at the bottom of the hill near the beach, or at the top outside the reception building.
Pretty much everywhere in the hotel has a breath taking sea view, we can't wait to return to soak it all in again!

Myself and my family have just stayed here over the October half term. Ideal location, near to Kardamena Town. The hotel is lovely, great staff and tasty food. A choice of pools, and areas to relax including a well appointed gym. We hired a car for two days, ideal to venture around the island of Kos, just be aware of the prices, it’s not cheap to go out and eat, fuel (unleaded) is £1.87 a litre, UK is £1.27 at the moment.
We went during the hotels final week of the season, so the place felt very personal, which suits us. However the main entertainment stopped on our second night, don’t forget to take UNO! Overall superb, very relaxing, a real holiday.

Location is beautiful however if you had mobility problems although they offer a golf cart pick up system you can’t count on it as there’s only 1 to a big resort, multiple times we had to walk to and from the bottom (which it is built on a mountain so very steep hills) because of the cart being too full (only fits 6) the hills won’t be any good if you have small children either. Other than that the location was beautiful and only a short walk from the bottom of the resort to the town. The beach was ok but not like the photos it is a lot more rocky, the beds were very outdated too however on our last day they had changed them for new plastic ones (typical) so make sure you take towels as they will get very hot the same ones are around the pool. Staff get overwhelmed when it comes to the holidays due to it being a resort and having so many people, we stayed a few days outside the holidays and could tell the difference, even one of the restaurants we couldn’t get seats towards the end. Manager at reception (lady with dark hair I apologise but I can’t remember her name) she was great, we needed to change rooms due to an ant infestation in the first room, she helped us very quickly and didn’t feel like a burden to her about it. As for the chefs and the food very hit and miss, not good for picky eaters or young children with certain tastes and two of the chefs that seemed to be on the Mediterranean restaurant (don’t know if this is their permanent spot but they were always there when we were there) very rude and snapped a couple of times at myself and my family over silly things like waiting for chips to be cooked. I would rate it at 3* personally and seems pretty standard definitely not 5*. The other chef at the Mediterranean restaurant again I apologise I can’t remember his name or ever seeing his name, was lovely and even interacted with my daughters, he was the tall, slim dark haired chef. Overall might suit some but others it won’t depends on needs and wants.
