Don't expect to much it's basic and budget. Staff are lovely. There is no wi fi in rooms. No security at all. Reception closes at midnight. Rowdy drunks at silly o clock. Rooms very dated and tired. Cleaner doesn't know how to clean and needs to order some bleach. Place has no bed bugs however silverfish are all over the place so needs pest control asap. Owner is out of touch and seems unbothered by criticism. Change is needed but I get the feeling it's stuck in the 1970s.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to survive a night on the set of a 1970s crime drama, look no further than the Luxmar Hotel! From the moment we stepped in, we were hit with the unmistakable aroma of eau de foisty mystery, a delicate blend of damp, disappointment, and something possibly decomposing.
The décor is a bold statement, imagine your nan’s living room, if she decorated it during a power cut, using only whatever she found in a skip. The room? A masterpiece of horror design. Cigarette burns artistically scattered across the bedding, as if Banksy had done a residency there. The faint, foisty smell lingered like a bad decision, and the bed bugs clearly thought I was the all-inclusive buffet. The décor is truly immersive, you don’t just see the grime, you feel it (mostly through the bites).
Breakfast was available, but after seeing the state of the bedding, I thought fasting might be safer.
The door didn’t lock properly, which really added to the excitement, nothing like sleeping with one eye open and a chair wedged under the handle.
Overall, Luxmar offers an unforgettable experience. Literally unforgettable, mostly because I’ll be telling my therapist about it for years.

Absolutely disgusting hotel, rooms need a serious upgrade their was no heating went in November and literally froze in bed had to ask for more blankets and they said the heating wasn’t working. The pool and sun loungers were minging. The best thing about this hotel was the staff they were lovely but I’d never stay here again feel like I need fumigating after leaving.

I stayed in Lux Mar. Which was a privately owned bit,
I booked with Booking .Com, not realising there were two parts. The apartment had a large kitchen full with appliances, but lacking in plates . The shower was very dangerous and slippery.
In a good area.

Was unsure about staying here after reading some reviews. We stay in May for 4 nights. The apartment was basic but was clean and tidy. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
We had a 0130 pickup for the airport and sorted the return of our deposit at 2200 before they shut at midnight. We kept the key to room until we left, just told to leave the key in the room.
No A/C in the room. It was OK being May, but I wouldn't have coped later in the summer.
No safe in the room, but you can rent a deposit box in the reception for €1.50 a day.
The pool and bar area is nice.
The location is good.
