Tl;Dr I recommend this hotel but don't think the platinum upgrade is worth it.
Pros
The staff are so hospitable and go above and beyond to help make the experience great.
The food is delicious! The restaurant options are amazing! Such a wide variety and excellent chefs! Lots of healthy options for people with dietary restrictions.
The rooms are very nice, have a balcony, and are very clean!
The beach is well cared for, soft white sand, cool blue water.
Abundant wildlife with lots of exotic birds and turtles!
Cons
We got platinum when we arrived but expected a different level of service for it.
We were the last to be dropped off at our room. They don't drop platinum upgrade people separately. the platinum buildings are closest to the beach and had to wait for the driver at each stop to help people with their bags. It was hot, we were tired.
The platinum pool, a small pool with a bar, was packed with kids playing with water toys all day every day. On more than one occasion, adults relaxing in the chairs were sprayed with water and got pool water sprayed in their drinks. The kids were yelled at for this but nobody stopped them.
The beach and pool chairs/beds are "claimed" by people early in the morning before breakfast. They just put their things there and leave them all day. There are more platinum guests than there are spots in the platinum areas so if you don't get there early to claim then you will use the normal beach and pool chairs, which there are plenty. This technically isn't allowed but nobody cares.
We would definitely return, but don't see the value in the platinum upgrade. The rooms are a little nicer. Closer to the beach. The platinum restaurants have less guests and better service. But we sampled the food at non platinum and it's just as good, just more people, slow service and maybe no lobster. there's no room at the platinum pool and it's too rowdy with out of control kids, and you may not find space on the platinum beach unless you wake at 6 and leave your things there before getting ready for breakfast.

We booked this experience for a special engagement, but unfortunately, it was completely ruined due to poor planning and lack of attention to detail.
First and foremost, there was absolutely no sense of privacy or romance. The setup felt cheap and low-effort, positioned right at the restaurant’s doorstep instead of a more intimate, scenic spot near the beach. To make matters worse, we had to witness multiple other proposals happening around us, which made our moment feel impersonal and rushed.
The atmosphere was severely lacking there was no music, no romantic ambiance, and upon arrival, we weren’t even greeted. Instead, the staff was busy cleaning and chatting among themselves, making us feel unwelcomed.
The service was also disappointing. They completely messed up the food order, serving steak to a vegetarian guest, which is unacceptable. Given the occasion and the price we paid, we expected much better service and attention to detail.
When we raised our concerns with the manager, we were not taken seriously, which only added to the frustration. Instead of creating a beautiful, once in a lifetime memory, this experience turned into a huge disappointment. For the premium price, we expected a high-quality, well-organized proposal setup unfortunately, this did not meet even basic expectations.
We hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their service to ensure other couples don’t go through the same disappointment.

We went for a family trip and it was fun!! Rooms were neat & clean!! Resort was all inclusive and food quality was good!! Customer service was awesome and staff were very friendly, which made our trip so memorable. Pool was near & clean and well maintained!! There were lots of different even schedule in evening time like live singer, silent music party ( which was really unique & fun) which was fun and had a good time everyday in evening!! There were lots of activities for kids and they had a separate pool section with all amenities like play area, movie time, food and many other things!!!
Overall I would recommend this resort for family vacation!!!

An Amazing Stay from Start to Finish!
From the moment we checked in until the day we left, everything at Hotel Bavaro Princess was absolutely fantastic. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-organized — exactly what you’d expect from a luxury stay.
Every single staff member was incredibly friendly and always eager to help. We were especially well taken care of by the amazing animation team — a special shout-out to Jennifer and Felix, who always had a smile on their face and kept the energy high with fun activities.
During breakfast at Gaucho, Maria made sure we started our days off right. She was attentive and made us feel truly welcome. In the evenings at the buffet restaurant, another Maria made us feel so special — every night, she prepared our table beautifully and went the extra mile to take care of us.
Liselotte , who worked at the Cappuccino bar and in the evening bars, made sure we had the time of our lives — night after night. Her energy and kindness really stood out.
Everything was well taken care of. When we first entered our room, there were a few small issues, but after mentioning them to the reception, they were resolved right away — excellent service!
All in all, it was a fantastic stay. We’re already planning to come back next year with ten more friends because we loved it so much. Highly recommended for anyone who loves luxury, sunshine, the beach, and total relaxation. This place has it all!

We had wonderful vacation in Grand Bavaro princess. Really good food, nice resort, clean , staff is really friendly. Beach is amazing. It’s nothing to complain. We are planning to come back. We book platinum I was glad for this upgrade. We have our own buffet no line ups , separate beach bar with full service and pool . Rooms close to beach. We felt safe no any problems
