I am going there 2 times in a row and I am very satisfied. The service is wonderful as well as the beach. I love the architecture and the way the resort is positioned. All the staff is great. The rooms are spacious and the A/C works well. The beach is quiet and almost no one bothers you which is why I make the choose to vacation here. Prefect location in my opinion and I will come back.
One remark I have to make is the location for the lunch (if you are all inclusive). It used to be in the main restaurant where the lunch was being served and its was nice and pleasant with the air conditioning. This year (2024) they moved the lunch to the Sea View restaurant which has a nice view but it out in the open with some fishnet-looking roof which hardly protects you from the sun and it right in the hotness of the midday sun so its not very pleasant. I know that you may not have many guests with the all inclusive option but you can separate one smaller section in the main restaurant where people can eat their lunch in a normal and pleasant setting instead in the hot midday sun at the Sea View small restaurant.

I recently stayed at the Sheraton Soma Bay for a week-long vacation, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel, while not the newest, is well-maintained, and the garden and beach areas are clean and inviting.
We stayed in the "Private Villa with Sea View," though it did not have the sea view I had hoped for. Despite contacting the hotel multiple times beforehand to emphasize the importance of the sea view for a surprise upgrade for my wife, we were given a villa with no real beach view. While the staff did show us some standard rooms with partial sea views, they were not comparable to the villa. It was disappointing that the two villas with direct sea views were not offered to us, reflecting a lack of understanding of our needs despite my clear communication.
On a positive note, the service team throughout the hotel was mostly respectful and friendly. However, I noticed some staff members seemed overly attentive to my wife and a few tended to solicit tips for trivial services.
A significant concern that contributed to my reduced rating was the presence of birds in the indoor dining area. Unlike my stays at other hotels in Soma Bay, such as the Breakers, Kempinski, and Steigenberger, there was a noticeable lack of attention to this issue at the Sheraton. The glass double doors to the indoor dining area were constantly open, and the wind wall outside was turned off. As a result, birds were freely eating from tables, the service counter, and the buffet, without any apparent attempts from staff to address this problem. (Pictures attached). I urge hotel management to take care of this issue.
On a positive note, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality, taste, and variety of the food. The beach is ideal for walking in the water, and you can swim further out. The proximity to the Breakers Pier, a highlight for us, provided excellent opportunities for snorkeling and scuba diving.
Thank you, Sheraton, for a nice and relaxing vacation. We hope to see the issue with the birds in the indoor dining area resolved, and if so, we will likely return for another stay.

I was here last year and the drop in this hotel’s level is shocking.
I was a on a family vacation and as a group we booked 4 rooms .. every room had an issue wether it’s electrical, plumbing or otherwise.. it’s like the entire maintenance team seized to exist.
Service level dipped too. I tried to get a drink at the pool and the waiter informed me that i had to get out of the pool, go to the reception to leave a copy of my credit card. Why wasn’t i informed about this new policy at check in .. it didn’t exist last year!! I ordered tonnes of stuff, just signed and then paid at check out just like any other respectable hotel. The level of rudeness was surprising to be honest.
And i’ve never been to a buffet in a 5 star hotel that didn’t include any drinks .. i’m not talking about soft drinks or juices but a 5 star hotel buffet without a glass of water is inexcusable..
we originally came for the soma splash for the kids but it’s simply not worth it .. i guess it’s time to find a new destination for our family vacation.

My partner and I adore this place. It’s the only hotel/resort we have ever returned to. I’m writing this from my second trip and already looking at planning the third for next year. The hotel is in a brilliant location for quiet relaxation but also has things to do when you want to. We’ve snorkelled with turtles on a private tour, swam in the sea and even did a small amount of shopping at the local marina.
The staff are by far what make this place what it is. Incredibly friendly, professional and playful. They are very attentive and will go out of their way to help you, if they are across the beach and see you moving a sun bed they will cross it to come and help you. Adding in small delights like remembering our names and orders. Taking private snorkelling tours, the guides will always try and find what you want to see, in our case turtles. The guides are also cautious to not intrude on the sea life but to merely observe and enjoy.
The location is stunning with a stunning beach with mountain backdrop and rich blue sea filled with a ton of coral to explore. A local marina with a few shops, pharmacy, mart and restaurants nearby too. It’s a little out from Hurghada but honestly you won’t care.
One thing that makes me slightly nervous is Marriott have started much needed renovations which look amazing, but will inevitably come with a hefty price increase, which in our second week there we started to see. The day after a Marriott rep visit, the private 2 hour snorkelling session went from €60 to €150, which is a massive increase. The staff let us have the original price as we had booked it before the increase but it will be the last one of this trip. This of course is cause for concern that the hotel will become too expensive for us to return once renovations are complete.
4 stars (not 5) because:
- We did have some issues with faulty aircon on our second trip which took a lot of nudging and chasing staff before we got a resolution. Which we later found out the hotel knew about an issue with that floor and are repairing with the renovations.
- Impending and obvious high price increases are clearly coming. I understand renovations cost money, I get it, and the plans look amazing, but if it’s anything like the 130% snorkelling tour price increase then I’m expecting them to be substantial and can see it pricing out a lot of people and regular guests - which we’d hoped to be. Even with the Marriott Bonvoy membership benefits which is being pushed.
- Some smaller issues that weren’t really worth the hassle chasing with reception like a seal issue making our shower leak in the bathroom and clogged plug hole (which seemed to be an issue across multiple rooms speaking to other guests). Our insect net door fell off in the night but I fixed it.

From the best resorts I have ever went to , amazing crystal water also with the ability to go snorkeling and watch the amazing sea world , spectacular food and service , and also aqua Park that is adorable for kids to have fun , furthermore I cannot forget Fadel in the pool bar who was so friendly and from the best people in staff there , highly recommended for family as well as for friends.
