The view from the room is from Moorea room 2037. Totally awesome view from room. Fireworks are slightly obstructed by palm trees but pretty good. No view of electric boat parade at all. It's a very long walk from the lobby, pool and restaurants so get ready. Walls are super thin and you hear the horn from the boats all of the time. I rented a DVC room and this was my first experience doing so. Seamless easy experience. Room has a second bathroom that is a shower only. A second toilet would have been amazing instead of a second shower. Hotel and grounds are beautiful.
Cast members are very polite. Very long waits at Captain Cooks and seating is very difficult so bring your patience. Main pool has a fun slide. Obviously expensive because the name starts with Disney. Had a great time but it's only practical once in a while due to the cost.

We went here for an anniversary trip and loved it! Had a room with a lake view on the third floor. We stayed here for a week and the staff was very nice and helpful. The resort is very clean and well maintained. The food offerings at the quick service is very unique from others. Rooms are very nice and can accommodate up to 5 people. Would highly recommend this resort!

We live local and made lunch reservations to dine in one of the restaurants at the Polynesian Resort! Something we do often for special occasions and to celebrate family milestones....
Today was different..... The security guard at the front gate entrance was incredibly nasty and mean and seemed so happy to be that way.
So happy and delighted to tell us our dining reservation meant nothing and we wouldn't be allowed to enter into the resort like we have every other time with dining reservations. He was so incredibly short tempered and confrontational telling me if we wanted to keep our dining reservation we better go park at Disney Springs and bus over, or the reservation will be refunded if we choose to skip it all together... He didn't care that we would have missed our reservation time entirely and even went as far as to tell me to get off the property... 😓😭 There was no reason to talk to me this way in front of my family.... I wasn't arguing at all, but was trying to understand why this was happening.... It ruined my entire experience and my day. I have never been treated this way especially at Disney... I will never go back....

This hotel is on the monorail, which is part of why I like it so much. It has a very "Hawaiian" vibe. Excellent customer service. I was here with my toddler grand daughter and everyone was so friendly and helpful. There is a water slide just for the littles, and she could have spent the entire day there. Clean, spacious room. We will be back

We recently stayed at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and while there were definitely some highlights, overall it was a bit of a letdown — especially given that it’s considered a deluxe resort.
The Ceremonial House (main lobby) is beautiful and welcoming — the tropical scent in the air is lovely and sets a great first impression when checking in. Unfortunately, things started to go downhill when we made our way to our assigned room in Rarotonga 3821. The common areas in that section felt plain and underwhelming, reminding us more of lower-tier island hotels in the Bahamas than a high-end Disney property.
One of the biggest issues during our stay was housekeeping. Despite receiving daily (and sometimes twice-daily) calls asking if we wanted service — to which we always replied “yes” — our room was never cleaned. It wasn’t until I reached out via the My Disney Experience app that someone finally came by. It was frustrating to say the least, especially for a resort in this category.
The resort has two pool areas. The main one, closer to the Ceremonial House, is large and full of fun features, but it was a wild zoo during both of our pool days. Finding a lounge chair was nearly impossible — we were lucky to snag one chair for our family of five. On the other hand, the Cove Pool was a much better experience. Just a short walk away, it was quiet, peaceful, and serene — exactly what you’d want to unwind.
On the plus side, the transportation options were excellent. We loved the flexibility of hopping between the monorail, boat, bus, or even using our own car. Getting around was easy, and riding the monorail loop was a highlight for our family.
Lastly, I want to give credit where it’s due — the staff at the Polynesian were fantastic. Everyone we interacted with was warm, helpful, and truly doing their best.
All in all, I’d give this resort a solid 3 stars. There were pros, but the experience didn’t match the expectations of a deluxe Disney property. We had hoped for more.
