Hidden Gems In...Turkey - Bodrum Beach Resort

Gran Canaria

Attracting over a million tourists every year, the Turkish seaside resort of Bodrum has quickly become associated with the classic sun-and-sea holiday. Hot summers mixed with gorgeous beaches make the southwestern port city a hit with travellers from throughout Europe.

With such popularity has come a bustling centre with spots of tranquillity as you enjoy a stop in one of the cafes. Having grown from what was a small fishing village, it is an intriguing place that comes with plenty of history. For an all-inclusive, family holiday, this is well worth a look.

Affordable four-star service in a peaceful location

From racing down the waterslides to sitting out with a view down of Gumbet Bay and the harbour, there is plenty to enjoy about the Bodrum Beach Resort. Whilst it is located away from the busy city centre, the entertainment and shops are only a short bus or taxi ride away and there is lots to keep you entertained within the complex.

As an all-inclusive hotel, you can choose from international and Turkish cuisine in the fine buffet restaurant or experience the à la carte menu over sunset. The modern building has spacious rooms and the exciting kids club will have your children occupied throughout the day as you swim in the pool, top up the tan or indulge with a Turkish bath or massage.

The ‘chill out’ pool, which is away from the main area, is a great idea and the beach is a short two-minute walk away.

Around the Bodrum Beach Resort

If you want a restful holiday then this is a wonderful hotel to consider. However, despite being away from the city centre, the surrounding areas are easily accessible for a refreshing change of scenery. Here we will take a look at some nearby attractions that are worth your time when in the area.

  • Built by the Knights Hospitaller, you get terrific views of the marina from the 15th century Bodrum Castle. It is well worth a visit and the Museum of Underwater Archaeology that is housed in there is one of the most intriguing places in Turkey.
  • Take a trip through history around the castle by meandering through the vine-covered alleyways that serviced the town when it was a fishing village. Stop in one of the coffee shops and barter for a bargain in the modern bazaar.
  • Built around 350 BC as a tribute, the incredible Mausoleum of Mausolus is an interesting place. The ruins are impressive as you walk around one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
  • The small but beautifully restored ancient theatre in Bodrum is stunning. From the top tiers you can see out towards the mountains and think of the days when this amphitheatre held thousands of spectators.
  • On the shore, you will see the beautiful marina but head beyond it to take in the restored Ottoman shipyard. Previously fortified to protect against attacks, you can see tombstones and get some great pictures.

A true piece of Turkish delight, Bodrum can boast hot temperatures and the Bodrum Beach Resort gives you a tranquil setting in which to enjoy them. See what deal you can get right here with Holiday Gems.
