Great value, lovely staff.
Good quality food and drinks for an all inclusive! Mixed nationalities, no Brits-abroad letting us down, which was good! :-D Great entertainment.
Not much going on around the resort, but perfect for what we were looking for in this holiday.

I have just returned from here after a solo holiday. The complex itself is HUGE and really well designed. I had Royal Level access, which is definitely worth it for the restaurant, where you can have breakfast and dinner. Both excellent. The food and service was top-notch and I could not have been happier with either. It would be nice if Royal Level gave you access to a special pool too, but the main pool is lovely. There is the usual rush for a sunbed - I found that if you were there after 9, you struggled. There are signs saying that you cannot reserve a bed, but this is not enforced and there is the usual group of selfish people that are down there at dawn reserving the best spots. Barceló, you need to do more to sort this out!
Lunch at DRAGO buffet excellent too. There is a special Royal Level area that is calm and quiet.
Drinks in the evening are all premium brands and free-poured (watch out!) and the staff lovely and friendly. Even though I was travelling alone and most other guest were couples, I never once felt out of place.
The room - this is where it lost its 5-star appeal for me. The room was huge but needed a little bit of an update in my opinion. Lovely to have your own balcony (I opted for sea view). The bathroom in particular needed a bit of a facelift and the bed had a plastic undersheet which was very odd and against the 5-star nature of the place. This really should be reviewed.
Otherwise, with excellent transfers from the (awful) airport that take 10 minutes, it does feel like a cut above the normal and a much more premium experience than most in the area - I would happily return!

I don’t often review a hotel 24 hours into a five night stay, however it has already been such a wonderful experience that I’m confident to be able to post so soon! The hotel and grounds are gorgeous with lots of different native trees, bushes, shrubs and cactus and lots of information about them. Inside there are lots of works of art from local artists and plenty of serene areas to relax. The service from all the staff has been absolutely first class. The buffet restaurant is far and away the best all-inclusive buffet I’ve experienced (and if you read my other reviews you’ll see I’ve been quite a few!) The choice is fantastic and everything is freshly prepared and very tasty. There are two different pool bars next to 2 of the many swimming pools they have (and because there are so many pools and so many lounges it’s never a problem to find somewhere in the Sun to relax) and a wonderful lounge bar. The cocktails are probably the best all inclusive cocktails I’ve experienced and as I said the service has been superb. My bedroom (standard twin room) is very nice and clean, in fact the whole hotel is pristine. I will definitely be back and would 100% recommend this hotel.

The hotel is complex is a calling environment to be in and our room was large and comfortable. The staff and the service they provided were excellent. They’re all super-friendly and happy to help. I’m vegan and my girlfriend had a gluten allergy and we both found it easy to eat at the buffet. The staff made it clear to my girlfriend what she could/couldn’t eat and when we asked for vegan or gluten free desserts they were happy to go to the kitchen and get us some. Would definitely go back there.

The hotel is beautiful, the staff is even better.
Every day we were shocked how organized everything was and how much effort they put into it.
We had a medical problem and the hotel staff was so friendly and approachable that they called us two or three days later to check if everything was okay.
recommended to everyone and we will definitely come next year!🫶🏽
