Very good option in el médano.
Top location at the beach (in connection with windsurf rentals), very clean rooms which are pretty tiny, good cleaning, very friendly and smiling cleaning staff, good breakfast with some options changing daily, free parking for hotel residents (2 areas). compact balconies with glass railing (I recommend the superior room with sea view). quiet rooms, no A/C but a large completely silent propeller on the roof with good adjustments with remote control. Storage space available for widsurf/bicycle etc. gears.
Reception staff passive.
Warm recommendation to everyone.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable and welcome. The atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful, which makes it easy to unwind and really enjoy your time there.
One of the highlights for me was definitely the breakfast. It was something I genuinely looked forward to every morning and a perfect way to start the day. I also really appreciated the laid-back vibe throughout the whole place — everything felt easy, pleasant, and unpretentious.
Another big plus is the location, especially if you enjoy surfing or watersports. Having the surf stations right next door is incredibly convenient and adds so much to the overall experience.
Overall, I had a fantastic stay and would happily come back. Great atmosphere, excellent breakfast, and an ideal location — what more could you ask for?

Having stayed at most of the hotels around Medano now, this is the favourite. Location is superb. Rooms are modern and really clean. Breakfast is better quality than most places. Rooms will either have sunrise or sunset view, either of which are beautiful in this magical place. Less than €20 in a taxi from the airport. Nice guests and quiet hotel, just the sound of the waves all night no music or other noise. Highly recommend for quiet beach front getaway

We absolutely loved our stay here! Staff was so kind and the hotel was decorated with such intention. Our room was clean and spacious. The pool was peaceful with comfortable seating. We loved the location to town and the proximity to the beach. We loved our stay here!

Stayed one night on arrival Tenerife. Chosen for close location to airport and a villa booked the next day. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and made our short stay most enjoyable. Room was clean and spacious and the pool looked very inviting. Positionwd right on the beach which is well known for wind and kite surfing, a spectacular sight.Would definitely recommend and choose to stay again

For a 4 star hotel, it definitely fails for me. I've been in other 4 star hotels which almost felt 5 star, whereas this felt more like a 3 star. Let me cover the positives - the entrance to the hotel is open and airy with a view of the pool beyond. There's someone at the reception to greet and get you settled in. The dining area is large and there is outdoor seating too, although we never sat there as it was cold in the morning. Food options for breakfast and dinner are decent enough. The hotel was clean and there was parking available close to the hotel most days. Now the not so good - somehow we found ourselves in the middle of a strike which meant that during our 4 day stay, the room was not cleaned for 2 days because of lack of staff. So not so great, but our towels were changed. Next the room - it was really bland, not even a cushion to lift it up. Very very basic. The kettle's lead was so short that we had to put it on the ground so it could reach the socket. We did have a sea view, but the sliding doors would not close fully so we had a very loud hissing noise of the sea. Someone came in to have a look but said this is a problem in most of the rooms. What?! right? So we found a way that reduced the hissing by opening the sliding doors a little more. Which brings me to the final point - there was a hotel opposite ours which played really loud music all through the day and night (until 11pm) which we could hear in our rooms. I guess if you're up late it's fine, but we usually were trying to sleep by that time, and it was just really annoying. So either you have the hissing sound or the music from the hotel - can't say which is worse. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again for all the reasons above. In terms of location, it's not close to the popular beaches, but still there is a buzz in the evenings. There's a supermarket opposite the hotel which is great to get water etc..(tap water is not suitable for drinking). When the room was not cleaned for the 2nd day in a row, we went to have a word with them..which is probably why they removed the 2 glasses of wine that we had during our stay from the invoice.

We had a great time staying at Hotel Tenerife Golf and Sea View! The view from the hotel was absolutely stunning, and the food was delicious throughout our stay. Although we didn’t get the chance to enjoy all the facilities since we were busy exploring the island, it was definitely a great place to come back to and relax.

Friendly, relaxed, and clean hotel that is situated in a fantastic location on the edge of Golf de Sur resort. This is the second time I have been and recommend it for those wanting a quiet (winter sun) getaway. The staff are excellent and always happy to help. Rooms are a bit dated (mainly the bathroom), but this doesn't detract from the whole experience. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel has won sustainability awards, which is important to me as I want to support businesses that are making this effort.

Had a lovely girls holiday here with my friends, staff were very helpful especially on reception.
We had all inclusive and while I thought the main meal food options were good, the drinks and especially snacks available were quite limited. Snacks were only sold between 11.30-1 and it was very limited in what you could get. One of my friends is vegetarian and struggled to find sources of protein at mealtimes, but the breads and dessert selection were especially nice. There was a lot of seafood available but if like me you don’t like that, there were usually other meat or veg options.
We were especially impressed when we first arrived late at night (3 hours later than planned) and were provided with a small dinner that left us all quite full and very happy.
Our room was very nice with a great balcony and a gorgeous sea view, cleaned everyday by housekeeping although we did have a stain on our bathroom counter when we arrived.
The local town was a very short walk away including a number of souvenir shops, a charity shop and a supermarket as well as a number of restaurants and bars. Was a very lovely little town with lots to do and explore.
The reception staff were also very helpful with bus stop locations and timetables as well as advice for excursions.
We had a lovely stay here and I would go again.

Me & my husband had a lovely 3 night stay here, staff were so friendly especially front desk, shops and restaurants across the road and the pool/sun lounge area was perfect.
We only had breakfast at the hotel but it was lovely, lots on offer and never seemed too busy so no waiting for any special orders that where cooked fresh in front of you.
I was a little disappointed as I had paid for an upgraded room but don’t feel I got that, although the room was still very big & nice so didn’t bother saying anything to reception.
I wouldn’t say it’s a hotel I’d take my children too but for a couple who just want to escape from everyday crazy life it was perfect 😍 thank you

A couple in our late 50s stayed end of April.
Our room was in block 4 we had a great view of the marina. We upgraded to a suite this had a large lounge area seperate bedroom with 2 patio style doors opening onto a large balcony, with a kettle and fridge.
The whole hotel was very clean and looked newly painted. Evening entertainment was very good with singers, dancers and a circus.
We loved the food on offer, not the biggest choice but very good value.
The drink token system worked well and stopped people stock pilling drinks at 11.00 (all inclusive stopped at 11.00) although we had to queue for drinks.
5 pools to choose from and plenty of sunbeds available.
All the staff were great. Some bars and restaurants close by with one selling a large beer for 1 euro.
The beaches are black volcanic rock and not suitable for sunbathing on.
We loved it and will return

Went on a 3 day girls trip in april ( we are 50 +😄)
Absolutely loved this hotel. We had rooms in the first block on 1st floor. There are 2 blocks each with their own bar area. We stayed mainly by the pool by the bar, there was another pool area just below that section. Bar staff and all the staff at hotel were great. We brought our own plastic cups and they were more than happy for us to use them. Wide range of drinks at the bar and self serve for soft drinks, wine, sangria and beer. There is also a lot of seating outside and inside the bar. At night time we used our tokens for drinks as they were were served in glasses, much nicer for a gin and tonic. They have smirnoff and Gordon's on all inclusive which was great and very generous measures.
We went to one night entertainment and the staff were great, getting everyone involved. It's a large area with comfortable soft seats and tables inside.
The food was themed each night we were there. They always had a paella pizza and chips and kid friendly food. Sushi on the Asian night was amazing. They also had a night with lots of sweets and chocolate fountain. Wine beer is self serve and wine glassed provided.
Rooms are big with large bathrooms. Safes and fridges, kettles and big cups.
Location is beautiful. Short drive from the airport. Down a small flight of steps by the pool takes you on a beautiful walk past Several bars just below the hotel overlooking the marina.
Beside the hotel is a chinese and a 2 minute walk is the wild geese irish pub where we had a great night with a live band on.
There is an indoor swimming pool with a gym and there is a shower area you can use on your last day.
So good we booked to go back next year 🤩

Top-Rated Family Experience – Highly Recommend! Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. Although the hotel is about 20–25 years old, it has been beautifully modernised. For parents, the layout is ideal: the kids' pools are right next to each other, which made it so easy to keep an eye on our 4, 6, and 11-year-olds. Plus, the bar is just a short walk away on the same level—no trekking up and down stairs like at other resorts! There is also a separate, larger pool with its own bar for adults or those with older children. The buffet offered a great variety for every meal, but what really set this hotel apart was the service. The staff are incredibly polite and helpful. We actually forgot our debit cards to withdraw cash for the towel deposit, but the team trusted us to return them, which we really appreciated. The housekeeping was also faultless. One of our children was unwell, so we weren't out of the room early, but the cleaners were more than happy to come back later and always did a perfect job. It makes such a difference when you're managing three children!A special mention must go to CAROLINA—she and the entire team were simply the best. We cannot thank CAROLINA enough for making our stay so special; she truly represents the top-tier service at this hotel.Pro Tip: The hotel is only 10–15 minutes from the airport. I’d recommend taking a local taxi for €20 each way instead of the Jet2 transfers—it lets you leave a bit later and beat the check-in queues!

A very standard experience for an all-you-can-eat hotel.
Food, staff and facilities were all good.
I gave it 4 stars not 5 because of noise depriving me of sleep in building 4.
1. They have lovely big family rooms but the corridors leading to the rooms are tiled. This means anyone with a large suitcase with wheels makes a loud clackty-clack sound as they go down the corridor. Some people are leaving early so it starts really early.
2. This might have just been our room but the air conditioner made a lot of noise.

The hotel was fabulous we had a room with a sea view. The staff were all very friendly i couldn't fault their service. It was quiet the 1st week of our stay but started getting a bit busier the 2nd week with more children. Food was great something for everyone the hotel is very clean overall. We are not a couple who lounge by the pool we would rather go out and see places so cant comment on pool life. The rooms are modern and clean the only thing i wanted was milk to go with the tea/coffee making facilities provided.
Thanks for everything

I was not sure how to rate this hotel. We had ajoining rooms on the non Royal Level. Therefore I would say at best this is a 4 star hotel. We asked for higher floor rooms in a quiet location as it was our honeymoon. We got given floor 1 facing main pool ! Once I had fixed the patio doors they were reasonably quiet ( the doors had pulled out of the frames so noise was coming in). Any room nearer the entertainment area is going to get noise until about 22.30. Rooms were big and well equipped but one had the door issue and a towel rail that kept falling off the wall. The hotel did fix a flickering bulb quickly. Rooms are a little tired but cleaned everyday to a good standard. Food is served in Drago self serve restaurant. Breakfast was good with huge selection but not always everything was available. Similar for evening buffet, plenty of choice. In both cases the food was pretty bland and of varying quality - but if careful with your choices it was OK. I still can't accept any 5 star hotel has a buffet for evening meal but it seems to be the way of holiday style hotels today. The staff we interacted with were all very nice and helpful. Evening entertainment was typical holiday fair. Some a good laugh and the acrobats were incredible. Some of the singers were interesting! Only one pool was heated so it got a bit busy finding beds but the other pools were fine and it's not far to walk. The hotel is located in a windy spot and seems to be designed as a wind tunnel. Early in our week it got too strong to sensibly stay by the pool - not the hotels fault but worth bearing in mind. Once the calima hit and wind stopped it was great. Location is OK with good walks in either direction to local bars and restaurants. Overall it was fine but probably wouldn't come back.

We had a wonderful experience! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming, which made us feel comfortable right away. We also went on a walk through a beautiful nature reserve with our guide, Arturo. He was such a cheerful and enthusiastic person, and his positive energy really made the experience even more enjoyable. We truly had a great time and would definitely recommend it!

Lovely hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Lorraine the chef who did the ‘origins’ breakfasts was great and explained all the authentic dishes well. It was lovely to have an option different to the eggs and bacon etc.
the hotel is in a quiet area which I enjoyed. There are lots of walks nearby and a bus that stops right outside the hotel. There are a lot of families but also an adults only pool which is quieter. I was out most days but many people seemed to enjoy the hotel enough to stay every day. The room was wonderful with a wraparound balcony. Would stay again!

We’re currently staying at Barceló Tenerife on an all-inclusive trip and honestly, it’s been such a great experience so far. We booked two adjoining rooms as we’re here with my dad and my husband, and the hotel staff were so helpful — they even arranged for the two single beds to be made into a proper double, which made a big difference for comfort.
The room itself is really nice, clean, and well looked after, and the bed is genuinely so comfy — always a win when you’re away from home. The sun loungers are another highlight, super comfortable and perfect for relaxing by the pool.
Speaking of pools, the choice here is excellent. There’s plenty of space and different options depending on whether you want something lively or more chilled.
The buffet has also been really good, with a wide variety of food so there’s always something for everyone, which is ideal when you’re travelling as a group.
Overall, we’re having a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing, all-inclusive holiday with great facilities and attentive service. We will definitely be back!

I had the most incredible time at Barcelo Tenerife. I was worried after reading lots of negative reviews about the food but I could find no fault at all!
I spoke to several people over the holiday who also moaned about the food but I think the moral of the story is if you dont like the nature of a buffet, then don't book an all inclusive holiday!
Each meal had a huge array of foods to choose from and it was so easy to eat healthy - freshly cooked fish, bowls of fresh prawns and shellfish, so many salads! It was lovely to leave an all inclusive not feeling unhealthy and bloated!
Lunch and dinner service have drinks served by waiters which is a lovely touch. Every staff member that I encountered was lovely and professional and the cocktails are great!
The rooms are huge, the beds are gigantic, the water pressure is great, the pools are immaculate and the location is great for walking to nearby villages and marinas.
I think my only advice if you go here is - avoid the negative people who like to moan about everything wherever they go, as they'll probably be the only negative aspect you encounter!

We are currently staying at the beautiful Barceló Tenerife and I honestly cannot praise the staff enough. From the moment we arrived, we have been made to feel genuinely welcomed and cared for.
A very special thank you to Victoria, the Head of Guest Relations, who has gone above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Her kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail have been exceptional throughout and made such a difference to our experience.
We would also love to specially mention Kenny, the Royal Level barman, who has been fantastic — always friendly, welcoming, and making every visit feel special. Thank you as well to Jhon, who has been incredibly attentive throughout our stay, regularly checking on us around the pool and bringing drinks and snacks with such warmth and care.
A huge thank you also to Jonathan in the Royal Level restaurant, who has looked after us so wonderfully during our meals and always made us feel so welcome. And finally, thank you to Diago, the Barceló Tenerife manager, whose team clearly reflects excellent leadership and genuine care for guests.
The restaurants have been absolutely wonderful, the atmosphere throughout the hotel is lovely, and every member of staff we’ve encountered has been warm, attentive, and eager to help.
The level of hospitality here feels truly personal and sincere, and it’s made for such a relaxing and memorable stay for both my mum and I.
Thank you for making our trip so special — we would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and genuinely caring experience.

To start off we will return but there are a few things that could do with a bit of improving. We stayed Royal Level and had a great week.
The pool at the RL was great, great service and choice of drinks and snacks. Great sun loungers with cushions. The negative is the is the toilet door to the gents does not have a lock, which created some privicy issues especially for our son when grown when walked in on him. Secondly the maintenance guys kept pluggng their power cable in the socket which led to not being able to close the door.
Great choice of alcohol in all the bars and excellent service.
The Breeze Gastro bar is very good and the best place for food. Breakfast was of a high standard with plenty of options in the Royal Level. The dinner could be very good to average. Some of the a la carte options were excellent but then depending on the chef, what was on the menu wasn't served on the plate. The hot buffet section, was ok bit mostly tepid and sitting out for too long.
The beds in the room were really comfortable but the bathrooms need a refresh and the floors need a proper clean with a machine as there is a good bit of ingrained dirt. On leaving, looked under our sons bed, we found a lot of dust and someone elses clothing. A lot of dust in the wardrobes.
The vouchers fot the restautant experience that you get on check-in do not include the experiences at the pizza or rice restaurants special evenings, we found out the hard why when checking out and had to pay for the pizza. We booked for the michelin starred chef but we were booked into the pizza restaurant according to the Barcelo App and we lost out on that experience. The App is poor and cant be relied on for bookings.
As I said at the start we will return as mostly it was a very positive experience. The staff are all very good and positive in their work, dout out to Valentin and Daniel. RL wine choices are good along with the beer and top shelf liqours.
The hotel are making improvents but need to sort out the small easy fixed items.
Tim Rees
We booked the Royal Level because the heated pool was important for our 2 year old daughter to swim in. We were here 2 years ago and it really was a joy. Unfortunately this time around either the heating is not working or the hotel is not heating it to a comfortable temperature. It’s too cold for our daughter to use. If a heated pool is important for your holiday, best not to book this hotel.
Rooms are also showing their age, I was expecting that they’d have been renovated since our last visit. Unfortunately not, they’re showing their age and a skirting tile has also fully fallen off the wall in our current room. Staff in restaurants also less attentive than they once were. It’s a shame, we returned to this hotel expecting better.
Andrew Linton
We have just returned (couple) and enjoyed a great stay. Stayed half board. The service and food were both excellent and the Royal level restaurant was one of the highlights. We didn't stay around the hotel or use any of the pools but it was always a pleasure to return to the hotel in the evenings.
Thnaks to Francesca, the customer care manager for looking after us
Kacper Michalski
The rooms are in need of a slight refresh, as some unrepaired damage is already visible. We also had flying insects in our room; unfortunately, we couldn't get rid of them as they kept coming back.
On a more serious note, the pool in the Royal Level area is barely heated. For those looking for a peaceful stay, it’s important to mention that planes are very loud here. Furthermore, there are two construction sites right next to the hotel, and the Royal Level pool area is situated directly by the street.
The food was very tasty, and most of the staff were great as well.
If you are looking for a quiet getaway, I would not recommend choosing this hotel due to the construction work happening just outside the fence.
Things to do in Golf del Sur
Play a round of golf: the famous Golf del Sur golf course is made of three 9-hole courses, and is an absolute delight to have a few rounds on. Venture down the road to the region’s second course - Amarilla - and enjoy views of the marina as your play.
Haggle at the marketplace: there’s a large market by the marina on Friday mornings, where you can buy a variety of handmade goods including leathers and jewellery.
Eat a delicious dinner overlooking the water: most of the restaurants in Golf del Sur are in the San Blas commercial centre, so here you can tuck into a delicious dish whilst overlooking the seafront. Bon Appetit!
