Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The all-inclusive offer was far from what was advertised.
The biggest joke was the lack of bottled water. You could refill water from the dispensers without limits, but the hotel didn’t provide any bottles — you first had to buy a drink from the shop just to have an empty bottle to use.
The rooms are old and definitely need renovation. There wasn’t even a kettle in the room, and when I asked for one, even offering to pay extra, I was refused. During our one-week stay, the cleaning staff only refilled the toilet paper once. The carton water that was supposed to be replenished daily was basically never provided. Only after repeatedly asking did I manage to get it twice, and even then it felt like a problem for them.
The WiFi barely worked anywhere. Occasionally it connected near the main reception, but very poorly. The food was average — you could always find something to eat, but the selection was limited, especially when it came to meat dishes. There were many coffee machines in the restaurant, but they only worked during breakfast. During the day, if you wanted coffee or tea, you had to go to the bar near the reception because that was the only place with a working machine. Ordering coffee directly at the bar was additionally charged.
The hotel staff were rude and ignored guests most of the time. The bartenders depended on who you got — some were okay. It’s also worth mentioning that most of the photos in the hotel offer are actually from the Royal Level area, not the standard part of the hotel.
The pools were decent, but there were missing tiles everywhere — in the pools, on the stairs, basically throughout the resort. It looked bad and sometimes even felt unsafe. The snack bar served exactly the same food every single day: pizza, hot dogs, burgers, and maybe a salad.
The hotel photographers were extremely pushy. Even after refusing multiple times, they wouldn’t leave you alone until you agreed to a photoshoot. At first they offer a “free session” and a few “free photos,” but afterwards one photo costs 11 euros, or they try to sell packages for around 180–250 euros.
The only big advantage of this hotel was the beach — very close, large, beautiful, and sandy.
Maybe the experience would have been better if the hotel wasn’t so heavily divided between regular all-inclusive guests and Royal Level guests. But for the money we paid, it was absolutely not worth it. The hotel is advertised as a 4-star resort, but in my opinion it deserves no more than 2 stars. I’ve stayed in 2–3 star hotels that offered a much better standard than this one.

Great hotel for families with children! The location was excellent and there was a huge variety of food every day. We had an issue with the room booked by our travel agent and unfortunately the reception staff were not very helpful when we asked for a room change. In the end, we decided to pay extra for a better room, and the view was absolutely amazing, so it was worth it.
The kids’ entertainment team was fantastic. My children were looked after by Dora and Claudia, who both have an amazing approach to children. Every day at Barcy Club they organised great activities and kept the kids happy and entertained throughout our stay.
Overall, a wonderful hotel for families with children and we had a lovely holiday.

I stayed at the Occidental for a week all inclusive and had a brilliant time. The resort is amazingly clean and all the staff are friendly. I had a twin room which was surprisingly large and had a balcony with a sea view. The only thing I’d note about the room is that the walls are very thin so if you have noisy neighbours you’ll know about it.
Each night there is a different theme at meal times such as Italian or American food. There is always a selection of pizza, pasta and chips if it isn’t your vibe one night.
The resort is only a 10 minute walk to the beach but it is located at the top of a very steep hill so the walk back can be tricky. They do offer a free coach down to the main shopping area twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon which is really handy. One thing to note is that the area of the beach near the lighthouse which is the nearer side to the resort is popular with naturists so I don’t advise walking along there with kids. We were not aware of the when booking so got a shock!
Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely stay again!

# Occidental Jandia Mar – Hotel Review
## Transfer
The transfer from the airport took about 1 hour and 45 minutes.
## Arrival
The hotel looked clean and well maintained on arrival. Check-in was quick and easy, taking around 10 minutes. Reception is on Floor 3, with the restaurant and entertainment area on Floor 2.
## Accessibility
The hotel is very accessible, with lifts, ramps, adapted rooms, and a pool hoist for guests with disabilities.
The pool itself was clean, but the area around it could be better maintained. Sunbeds were difficult to find because many guests reserved them early with towels and left them unused for hours. Some rubbish was also left around the pool overnight.
Inside the hotel, cleanliness was excellent and the cleaning staff worked very hard.
## Beach
A free shuttle bus runs to the beach several times a day and takes about 10 minutes. There are shops and a café at the beach, but food and drinks there are not included in the all-inclusive package.
## Food and Drink
The food was generally very good, with plenty of choice at the buffet. There were also snack bars serving burgers, pizza, chips, and other food throughout the day.
The main issues were finding a table during busy times and occasional shortages of plates, cups, and glasses. The coffee machines also sometimes ran out of beans.
## Entertainment
The animation team was excellent. They organised activities throughout the day, including water sports, games, and children's entertainment. They worked hard and helped create a fun atmosphere.
## Housekeeping
The room was kept clean during our stay. However, two bottles of sun cream went missing from our room. After contacting the hotel, one of the bottles reappeared the next day.
## Check-Out
Check-out is at 12 noon. Secure luggage storage is available, and guests can book a shower room after check-out, which was a useful service before travelling home.
## Overall
Occidental Jandia Mar is a clean, family-friendly hotel with good food, excellent entertainment, and good accessibility. While there were some issues with sunbeds, restaurant crowding, and housekeeping, we still had an enjoyable stay.

Our family of 7 (5 adults, a teen, and a toddler) recently returned from a wonderful 8-night stay at Jandia Mar. Despite the January dates, the weather was beautiful—hitting highs of 23°C (feeling like 26°C)—which was perfect for sunbathing and swimming in both the pool and the ocean.
The Room & Amenities:
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with a TV and mini-fridge. The bathrooms were also impressively large. While the "Ultra Inclusive" upgrade was offered at €19 per person/night, we found the standard inclusive package sufficient for our needs.
Activities & Facilities:
Food: Great variety with plenty of options for different dietary requirements.
Entertainment: Engaging activities for all ages throughout the day and evening. The teen game room (arcade) stays open until 11 PM.
Convenience: On-site shops, a kids' club (ages 4+), and several bars.
Note: Pool towels require a €20 deposit (cash or card), and there is a €2 fee per towel change.
Area for Improvement:
The only downside was the service. We found the staff to be less friendly and helpful than we’ve experienced at other resorts, which was a bit disappointing.
Verdict: Overall, we highly recommend this hotel, especially for families!
