We have stayed at Coronado, Port Orleans French Quarter, Port Orleans Riverside, Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Lodge and now the cabins at Fort Wilderness and all I can say is that THIS is our FAVORITE stay of them all! The cabins allow for privacy, there is plenty of room, and they are kept in pristine shape. We were able to rent bicycles and ride throughout the grounds where we felt safe, welcomed and every area was quaint and quiet.
We enjoyed the stables and interacting with the horses and also took advantage of taking the boat over to Magic Kingdom.
They are in the process of building a pretty large DVC hotel however so there is construction around the boat ramp and settlement.
We were not able to walk from wilderness lodge to fort wilderness however, there is a bus that we took that run to and from both.
We loved staying here at the cabins so much that we are excited to book our next mini vacation at the cabins again!
What a great experience - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A disappointing start to our stay at Ft. Wilderness. I have never stayed at a campground that takes 45 minutes to go from pulling into the property to heading to our site. First you wait in a line just to enter the property, where you have to show your ID to get in. Then you have to proceed to the check in plaza for another long wait. Each vehicle takes almost 15 minutes to check in and get your site paperwork.
Every other campground in the country takes a minute or two, tops. And for a company as big as Disney, whatever it is that they are doing to take so long at check-in, you'd think you could get most of it done ahead of time online.
Oh, and the 3pm check in time is later than any other campground ice ever stayed at and the check out time is also earlier. For the money they charge for these sites, you'd think you'd get extra time, not less!
Just disappointed.

Even after the criticisms that I read in all the reviews. Mainly from the DVC members, I see nothing wrong with these cabins five adults and one child were extremely comfortable. The accommodations were well-maintained, had housekeeping, and had plenty of items to make your stay a pleasant one. The full-size refrigerator and freezer were a plus. Many fussed about the loss of a washer/dryer for an extra vanity area. We've found it very helpful. There were plenty of laundries close by. I would recommend these cabins highly if you don't have an RV or find yours is under maintenance.

Stayed at the cabins at Ft Wilderness, and this is a wonderful break from the hustle of the parks.
We flew in and did not rent a car. No problem, but be sure to rent a golf cart in advance. We did, and upon arrival, there were no day-of rentals available. This resort is quiet and BIG, so a golf cart is very handy.
Internal buses run non-stop and are also a great mode of transportation. Buses run to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot. Boat transportation is available to Magic Kingdom.
Our 1 bedroom cabin is equipped with a dual coffee pot, bunk beds, one queen sized bed, and queen full sized pull-down bed. (There is no washer and dryer in the cabin, but there is a laundromat on site). The bathroom has a walk-in shower only and a full countertop sink. There is also an additonal vanity size sink outside the bathroom. The cabins are newly remodeled and have fresh, clean looks.
4 stars for service only because we called for our luggage from bell services around 8 pm, and it took quite a while to arrive at our cabin.
Overall, there is lots to see and do at this resort and a really peaceful vibe!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (But really, 10/5 stars!)
The newly redesigned Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness are nothing short of magical perfection!
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat. The new cabins are absolutely gorgeous—a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. From the moment we stepped inside, we were blown away. It’s like Disney sprinkled a little pixie dust on every detail.
The interiors are warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. Everything feels brand new yet still captures that cozy, wilderness vibe. The beds are super comfy, the layout is spacious, and the kitchen setup is perfect for families or anyone who wants a little extra convenience during their stay.
We loved sipping coffee on the porch in the morning, surrounded by peaceful forest views—and ending the day under the stars was just as magical. It truly feels like a hidden gem within Walt Disney World, offering a relaxing escape without ever leaving the magic.
Disney knocked it out of the park with these renovations. If you’re thinking about staying here—do it. It was an unforgettable experience!
