We had our wedding there few days ago and we couldn’t pick better place.
Hotel was perfect, rooms are very “insta-friendly”, pools are wonderful and beach was beyond our expectations.
We were afraid that the beach is not suitable for swimming since we have not seen many sunbeds or people in the water when we were going through Melia pictures but the opposite was true. Beach is very wide, with many beanbags/sunbeds and the water is amazing.
Hotel has also a few restaurants - which were too expensive in my opinion, but we loved the fact there are much cheaper restaurant right next to the hotel on the beach. The some applied for drinks.
Breakfast was wonderful. I don’t understand bad reviews. Many options, egg station, noodles, rice, bread, spanish section (for some reason?) etc.
Hotel is little far from phuket center so don’t expect busy markets close to the area but on the other hands it is not too far from the center that you would have a problem to order bold or grab (last few days we stayed at the santhiya hotel even further north and we had a trouble to get a uber driver when we wanted to go to markets).
Staff is very friendly. We were treated like kings and queens. Yes, there were a few mistakes but always managed to communicate them. Many thanks to Sasipa who organized the whole wedding. She and her team were very helpful the whole time. One of our guest had to go to hospital and they made many kind of exceptions for her. She could use her room even after checkout, they brought her breakfast to her room etc.
Wedding was beautiful. Of course some things get wrong but that happens on every wedding. But it was really beautiful and we had a great time.
Few things you should know are:
- is there is a “+” or “++” sign after price, you need to add fees to the price - we learned the hard way
- if you are considering a wedding, you will not have the whole lawn for yourself, there still will be guests. But you will have a big part.
- if you are planning multiple hotels, Melia should be your last stay, because every other hotel feels worse then it is after this experience. Especially if you are going to Patong - go there first so you can enjoy the quite nature of melia

Had a great stay at Meliá Phuket Mai Khao for 5 nights with a Luxury Escapes package which included all our meals and drinks throughout the day at the pool. It was a luxury resort for the 2 of us to relax and enjoy not having to think about anything. The staff and management were very friendly and accommodated us very well. I am Gluten Intolerant (Ceoliac) and the restaurant and all hospitality staff knew of my dietary needs, they created a special menu for both restaurants that allowed me to not have to think about what I could eat. They recognised us each time we went to eat, even remembering our room number... very friendly and great service. The location was great and the room with it's private pool and outdoor bath was very enjoyable and romantic. The room was large and an escape when needed. Internet services were great. All was exceptionally clean and the activities including bike ride around the village and beach was fun... the spa was amazing and so relaxing. Definately worthwhile for couples, but there were some families as well.

We spent almost 10 days at the Meliá Phuket and our stay was wonderful. We were greeted with a cold drink and shown to our room. All the staff were very friendly and respectful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and with the terrace and a bathtub in the room, you can really relax. The breakfast was also delicious, with a wide selection of Thai specialties. The staff was very attentive, and the Guest Experience team was always happy to give us tips for excursions. All in all, our stay was fantastic, and we will definitely be back.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Meliá Phuket Mai Khao and would especially recommend it to those looking for a peaceful retreat immersed in nature. The location is truly exclusive, situated in the far north of the island with nothing around it, making it ideal for a quiet getaway, relaxation and disconnection from everyday life.
That said, being so close to nature also comes with a few considerations. We encountered all sorts of wildlife on the property, including toads, snakes, and lizards. Fortunately, none of them entered our villa, but guests should be prepared for this aspect of the experience. In the evenings, more lighting around the pathways would be very welcome, particularly when walking to the restaurant for dinner, to avoid any unpleasant encounters.
We stayed in a one-bedroom wellness villa with a private pool and absolutely loved it. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed with a refined and elegant décor, spotlessly clean, and equipped with every amenity one could possibly need. The private pool was unfortunately far too cold to use, but the wellness premium amenities more than made up for this. The daily spa treatments included in the package were a true delight.
YHI Spa is an absolute gem. We thoroughly enjoyed the multiple treatments we had during our stay, choosing something different each day, and every single visit was a pleasure. From the very beginning, we were always welcomed by genuinely warm and professional therapists. Each experience started with a hot cup of tea and a relaxing foot massage, immediately setting the tone for complete relaxation.
In terms of dining, the restaurants offered excellent food, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. The dishes were well prepared, tasty and thoughtfully presented, with the added benefit of being able to choose between two different menus and restaurants, one more Thai-focused and the other more European in style.
Breakfast, however, was a disappointment. The attempt to present certain items as “Spanish” was misleading and poorly executed. As a Spaniard, I found this particularly disappointing and even insulting, as the dishes bore no resemblance to authentic Spanish cuisine and gave guests a completely wrong impression. None of the items presented with a Spanish flag were authentic: things like extra virgin olive oil, tortilla de patatas, Tarta de Santiago, or Gouda cheese (which is Dutch) were shocking and hard to see on the buffet table. It would be far better to focus on well-prepared Thai and local options, which is after all what people come to Thailand for.
Overall, Meliá Phuket Mai Khao is a beautiful and tranquil resort, ideal for nature lovers and anyone seeking a wellness-focused escape. We chose it knowing it is part of a high-quality Spanish hotel brand, and the resort certainly delivers in many ways. With a few improvements, it could provide an even more outstanding experience.

This is my third time visiting Phuket and my first time staying at the Melia hotel. The hotel environment, decor, and facilities are excellent. The bedding in the room is comfortable, allowing for a very good rest. The breakfast is very tasty. I'd like to thank the front desk staff, Ms. Candy and Ms.Beam, for being very attentive and considerate. She provided a detailed introduction to the hotel, not only arranged for our room to be next to our friends' but also kindly arranged a room upgrade. If I come to Phuket next time, I think I will choose the Melia hotel again.
