Just spent 7 nights over the Christmas period at the hotel, it was business as usual and pretty busy. We had a great experience overall. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff are very helpful. Facilities are all as described with a great shuttle in and out of old town daily. Only small criticisms would be that room walls are thin and often you can hear things from outside and beside your room. Breakfast was extensive, there was good options for me as a vegetarian but limited if you’re vegan (though it is recommended you ask for vegan options if needed- I didn’t feel the need to). Would highly recommend for relaxing break away.

Place looks nice but appearances are deceiving. Staff are generally not fluent in English & the level of customer service is v poor. We frequently had to call reception because various aspects were not working properly. For instance today the water supply was cut off and no one informed us. 😒
No shops nearby, remote location (definitely consider getting a hire car if you want to stay here), shortage of snacks, limited vegan options & prices for food and drink are steep.

Had a great 7 night stay here. The hotel has great gardens and a nice walk onto the beachfront. Breakfast had a good selection and was tasty. Only con for breakfast is not many options for people with celiac ( gluten free ) . Only complaints I have is that our room had a lot of issues, there were scratches on everything . Mould in the shower room , the walls were quite damaged too. We also had problems with the lights going out which happened again on our last night, it was quite clear our room needed a renovation, other than that the only other thing to consider when booking it they is not much in the area. This wasn’t a problem for us as taxis are easy to get.

Stayed for a long weekend (4 days) with my bf. We had a pool view room and booked the couples massage, which came to a reasonable price. Lovely reception area, High ceilings and fireplaces in the walls. The staff were lovely and friendly. The rooms are nice and big. loved the walkin shower and the air con was god send. The view out of the balcony was stunning! Could see the ocean through the trees. Full view of the three outdoor pools. Loved the garden and all the plants and palm trees, stunning. Only think is the room didn’t provide USB plugs, Ironing board/ iron, TV had barely any channels and was limited, hair conditioner. They did provide little shampoos and body wash, fruit, water, coffee pod machine, safe, fridge, robes, slippers, flannel etc. my robe had a stain on it so didn’t use it. The bed is big and comfy, cleaners came every morning to change the bedding etc. I will note that you can hear when people move the chairs next door, which was a little annoying. The buffet is lovely, always had champagne which I thought was a nice touch. variety of foods. Love the fact you can walk through the garden and through the back gate to the beach, it was lovely and quiet and the beach was stunning! Throughly enjoyed our couples massage, nice and relaxing, the staff were lush. Gym facilities are spot on, nice array of machines. The spa swimming pools/ saunas/ hot tub are awesome! Spent the whole day there. The hotel is in a lovely area and taxis are always 2mins away! I booked this for my bf birthday and I put in my booking notes it was his birthday hoping they would do something special for it, but didn’t sadly.

Hi dear, we have been staying at the Hotel for 1week incl half board and one pax booked a Golf package.
We had a queen bed room, with view partly to the sea.
Rooms are decent sized. Bed & Balcony are top. The bathroom is (kind of new style) integrated in the room, means privacy for toilet and shower is hardly given. We needed to go with loud music to the toilet. Unusual and inacceptable to our view.
Cleaning service was super, nice ladies, although cleaning on top shelf must also be done from time to time. Guess a latter would help the small ladies. Hint to the service mgmt.
Half board was good, quality and amount was decent. The place to be was rather a hall than a room, which was from time to time a bit noisy. Service personal was great, alsways helpful and kind of joking.
Hint to the mgmt - as there are loads of kids you are showing CNN US with war nes from all over the world. You may reconsider your TV channel choice for Breakfast & Lunch. Not good managed at all!
Service personal at the front desk was always kind of stressed. Some ladies are not qualified for a front desk job and often language barriers make communication difficult. Same we experienced at the Golf courses. We dont know, season just started and tensions arise everywhere.
Spa was too tiny to call the Hotel incl SPA. That is not a SPA hotel. Since there is also a limit for entry in the SPA, we had to wait as also external clients are allowed. Thats for me a no go - let own hotel guest no preference.
Indood pool was ok but also due to weather crowded with loads of kids. And many family also came from other Hotels as NAUis allowing 3rd party clients. We dont like this policy in high season not at all.
Gym was ok despite hardware is certainly 15y old. Was functioning and doing its job.
Bar upstairs was super. Nice service people served top cocktails.
Overall, Hotel experience was ok but not value the price we paid. We can recommed though and will stay next time in a different location.
3,5 Star instead of 5star - Portugese level.
BTW: Digitalization is worse in this hotel. We were promised all digitalized invoices and still fight with the service mentality of NAU. In 2024 all data shall be automatied sent to clients online. A nightmare.
