First time I traveled to Crete although I am from Greece I was thrilled with the hotel...let's start with the room which was spotlessly clean very beautiful and the pool had an endless view of the sea. Our first dinner was at the Cretan restaurant, very tasty food with very high quality ingredients. I did not expect that the hotel restaurant would be better than an outside one in Agia Pelagia!! The buffet in the main restaurant of the hotel had a very wide variety of hot, cold and sweet dishes and because I am a food lover I tried all the hot buffet And it seemed strange to me that I did not find any flaws in any of the food.. They were all delicious And always the buffets were full. For sure next year when I go down to Crete again I will book in the same hotel again. Finally, thank you for the service, everything we needed was by our side!!!

I stayed here for 4 nights and I never experienced been in a 5 star hotel that’s doesn’t feel at all like 5 star. They just have weird restrictions for everything that doesn’t make sense, like impossible to have dinner in the due to “ lack of space” and the restaurant is empty. They say they have a Michelin chef but the food down the road from “Taberna Nikolas” is 100 times better and feels more real with 10 times cheaper price. Stuff with lack of training that they don’t know what are they doing and they keep forgetting food and orders. Avoid it if you want a nice holidays in Crete! Xx

I was so disappointed with how much we spent and the level of holiday I’ve stayed in quite a few 5* in Greece and this was by far the worst and a real disappointment! I wish we could get our money back but we can’t so the least I can do is tell you the truth so you aren’t disappointed! Let me break it down: - Food was horrendous: I honestly can’t understand the reviews which say the food has been nice I’ve had nicer school dinners, there was a fair amount of choice but the quality was poor, the chicken was so dry it stuck to your teeth, food was always cold and there were lots of flies around. My husband also unfortunately got ill like food poisoning after eating some pork (which I didn't eat and was fine). We also were unable to book any of the restaurants at a reasonable time, we looked as soon as we arrived but only one restaurant was available on Friday (our last day) at 8:30/9 (we arrived on Saturday) and only 2 out of the 3 restaurants were available to book on the app. Despite this whenever we passed the restaurants they either looked closed or half empty so couldn’t understand why we weren’t able to book. - Service at food times: Staff were generally pretty friendly however they were often in the way of the food to fluff it around, I completely understand the need to restock but there was no consideration for guests actually trying to access the food, there were many times we had to wait behind carts and staff which were not restocking the areas of food we wanted to access but to simply swish it around like they were trying to look busy. - Drinks: Full disclaimer we don’t drink alcohol so this is purely on the soft drink selection. The drinks at the pool were described as Coca-Cola franchise but the drinks tasted awful, we couldn’t tell if it was maybe because they dont wash their taps or if it wasn’t the official drinks. I think given the options at food times it was the latter. We ended up just having water for the whole week, which they don’t even supply bottles at the bar it’s just a water machine like you’d find in your local hospital. We ended up taking the water bottles provided at the room and refilling those instead. Which brings me onto the lack of choice at food times, we were only offered wine or water at the table, they had some soda and fruit juice tap options in the restaurant but they were local brands which tasted incredibly watered down. (Hence me thinking it was the same at the bar). Definitely not 5* experience we are used to! -The room/location: The room itself was actually really nice but the showers were inconsistently hot/cold with the majority of time it being cold. We also had to walk past an eggy sulphur sewage smell daily to get to our room which was really off putting! Definitely not 5* The location of the hotel was really far for anything, again not a huge issue and it did have beautiful views but did mean you were stuck to their options for food and couldn’t go elsewhere, taxis to the local city were €90 one way so we ended up hiring a car one day instead as worked out much cheaper, we also didn’t go through the hotel as they were twice the price of some car rental places just down the road that drop the car off at the hotel anyway. WiFi: non existent in many places in the hotel, not a major issue as we were there to unplug anyway but could be inconvenient. The gym: good equipment but no Aircon Other: during our stay there were 3 planned country wide earthquake and tsunami alerts. No one had told us about this in advance and fobbed us off as stupid when we went to ask someone if we needed to evacuate as the message suggested! To summarise avoid! If you’re looking for a decent 5* hotel which is better connected try Rhodes bay in rhodes it’s a million times better!

Don’t stay if you want ants in your bed! We have just arrived at this hotel after our flight was delayed for 4 hours. Arriving in at 11pm we was allocated room 103. We booked through jet2 and was advertised a room with a balcony. We got escorted to room 103 and it had no balcony but a terrace with a view of the sunbeds. We let this subtly slide as the room was gorgeous and we was really content with it however, I’ve attached videos of what we saw. Ants all over the bed and the floor and the walls. I didn’t pay over £1000 to have an ant infestation in my room. Actually disgusting. Following this, we packed our luggage and walked back up to the reception and proceeded to tell the receptionist what the issue was. He phoned the manager and told us to wait. We sat there waiting then he came to us and told us we have to wait for house keeping and remain in that room until the morning where they will ‘see what they can do for us’. We obviously wasn’t happy with us as we didn’t want to sleep in a bed with ants in it so we refused. He told us no we are fully booked you have to stay there until tomorrow when departures come through. We said no not happening too which he then proceeded to ring his manager again. His manager offered us room 105 so obviously was a lie again about having no rooms. 105 was 2 rooms away, we just wanted to be in a room that was initially advertised to us with a balcony and away from the ants. We then got onto the phone with the manager who relentless cut us off, made us feel in invalidate and just consistently patronised us. He said we had to come back up in the morning to get a new room, he blamed jet 2 for the false advertisement and was just overall disgusting. We are in the new room 2 rooms away from the ant infestation, will update review with the outcome of tomorrow. Don’t stay at this hotel if you want ants in your bed!

The hotel is as lovely as it looks in the advertising. The views are beautiful. Lots of places to eat in the resort, the food is always fresh and different choices in the buffet every night. The room I was in was very spacious but the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the lack of privacy when you come out of the shower or toilet as there is no wall between the bed area and the shower/toilet. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The pool areas were relaxing as this is an adults only hotel. There was plenty of space around the pools for lounging. Not such a good place for anyone with mobility issues as the resort is on many different levels.
