The staff were nice however we had multiple problems with this hotel. On first day we checked in at the hotel. When we entered the room we saw that the room was given to someone else. After some days our key cards didn't work anymore and receptionist told us that it will be fixed in one hour but it has been one day and it is not fixed yet. In the reviews you see that they have very good breakfast but at least to my taste it was medium.

It was an average hotel. There were two problems: The door lock system was buggy and for a few days we had to always ask the reception to send someone to open the door for us. Our check in experience was strange too. We got the keys and when we entered the room there were belongings from someone else in the room! In general the staff were quite friendly and helpful. The breakfast was normal. The location is also close to the beach, however I recommend you rent a car if you plan to visit the island.

Tempting Tenerife

We were only booked in for one night. Very impressed with the whole place. The staff were friendly and efficient. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. I think it must have recently had a refurb as everything looked very new! The rooms had air con and were very comfortable. Lovely view to the sea too. Nice good quality towels and bed sheets. The pool area was a little bit cramped but very nice. The breakfast selection was excellent. Overall location was very central. Would definitely book to come again. Great value for money.

Great value. Ideal location, hard to park. Clean rooms with loads of space and kitchen amenities. Average breakfast with almost non-existent vegan options. I strongly don’t recommend the coffee and scramble was disappointing.

Perfect place for everyone who looks for relax and real Tenerife experience. Very cozy,family hotel with friendly personel. Every day super service and food on breakfast. Helpful reception people,first day as we arrive they recommend us a restaurant that didn't left our bellies empty. All there was a big plus! Only the water in pool was definitely too cold.

Perfect place. We just loved every minute. Our room was on the top floor with a sea view. Ideal spot for sunset and stars watching at night. The room was very clean. Service amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t take name of any staff members, but both receptionists were very helpful. We definitely will come back !!!!!

A great place to be! Super friendly staff, everything is nice and clean, breakfast is very good (large buffet), a very nice pool area and fantastic drinks. It's close to different restaurants and grocery stores and only a 10-minute walk to the beach. We very much enjoyed our holiday, thank you!

I have often looked at this hotel and thought the location and photographs of the rooms they display looked wonderful. However we stayed there for 2 nights last week and were sorely disappointed in the reality. The apartment we stayed in (08) is in serious need of renovation. The furniture is old and uncomfortable. The room had an appalling smell of really strong cleaning products which I informed the hotel about straight away. It was so bad I instructed them not to bother sending anyone to clean the next day as it was so offensive. Later I came across a cockroach in the bedroom and wondered if the smell was actually insect repellent? I scooted it out of the room into the corridor with some card and instructed the cleaning lady next door who stomped on it. Also we were on the ground floor so our balcony did not have the better views of the floors higher up and it had a huge plant also obstructing our sea view. I am sure guests would rather look at the sea than a huge plant. None of the other rooms seemed to have this problem. Good points. The staff did let us have an early check in and made up the bed settee for me as requested (but I was the one sleeping on that and it was very uncomfortable) The pool and the pool area are lovely. We didn’t mind the walk to and into town as it was worth it for the views. Considering the problems we had I thought the price we paid was too much for a 3star property even if it is high season in Tenerife. We wouldn’t stay again. Disappointing.

room with sea view had limited sea view. room was clean and spacious. parking on the street wherever you find a spot, sometimes a couple of few minutes walking. if you like a hot shower, get up early, hot water is limited, later only warm. location is ok, "quiet", up on the hill, you need a car or enjoy walking back up the hill.

Great little Hotel with an exceptional view. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Always Up for a fun small Chat. Breakfast is very good and very fairly priced. Pool is nice and clean with enough sunbeds. Dinner on Wednesday directly at the pool with live music was a fun and tasty Addition. The Appartment was spacious and the balcony perfect for Sunset watching

After previously staying at this hotel and having no issues and only positive things to say, I wanted to give an honest and open review of our stay so far. Arrived on Tuesday to a warm welcome by friendly staff and a glass of fizz. Unfortunately we were unable to book a sea view room and was allocated one overlooking the noisy bars and car park. On arriving in the room the first thing we noticed were the handles hanging off the wardrobe doors, quickly rectified once we advised reception. Next issue the toilet seat does not stay up when lifted. The basin in the bathroom took ages to empty, again maintenance was quickly dispatched to look at the basin. I know we don't go on holiday to watch TV but none of the English channels work, we were advised this was a signal problem and was being rectified, 5 days later still no signal and we have since found out from other guests that this is an ongoing problem and has been for some time. When we came to have a shower (which is over the bath) the screen had been badly fitted and moves causing leaks on the floor. I realise these are all picky things but ones which I feel should be picked up by housekeeping and rectified before allocating the room. We would not sign up to the Green room service again, having housekeeping turn up between 3pm and 6pm and having to phone reception to find out why no-one has been at 6.20 when waiting to get showered for dinner is not worth the 8.57 euros daily incentive. On a positive note all of the staff are lovely and go out of their way to help, the restaurant is clean and the food is good, the pool and bar areas are well maintained and the hotel is in a nice area with plenty of shops and local bars if you fancy a change from the hotel.

Haven't stayed in the hotel but did call in for lunch and to have a look around for future reference, firstly the lunch around the pool was lovely with good and quick service. The hotel itself looks really nice and with it being located in the main resort there was plenty to do in the local area with plenty of cafes, bars, shops and a lovely marina. When we go back to Tenerife we'll definitely be staying there.

Good hotel. Food very good and labelled for various dietary requirements. Chefs will help identify options for your diets so just tell your waiter when you are seated at restaurant for your diet. A la carte restaurant was grest. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Safe in bedroom for which a deposit is partially refunded. Towels are charged for the pool but ensure you keep your receipt for refund on departure. Check room info for their "green options ". Good holiday but sadly we experienced a lot of windy weather.

A quiet hotel (no children) with beautiful views over the sea. Good food with plenty of choice. Lots of exercise classes to suit all abilities and other activities like boules, skittles & table tennis. Good walking and close to the harbour & shops. Spa & gym on site. Highly recommended.

Not a bad hotel ,beds are awful food is great at pool bar not so good in restaurant ,pool beds always reserved even though they say they are not! Great views amazing sunsets make sure you get a sea view room! Best restaurants are in marina everywhere else is very average would we go again? No,just visit once to appreciate the surroundings.

We had a lovely time at the Royal Sun Resort. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Our apartment was spacious and clean, a little old in places but all functional. The breakfast and evening meals were all fabulous. There's not much to do in the evenings that may suit some people,also not great if you don't like hills. The views are probably some of the best on the island.

The room was spacious and clean. We didn’t think it was “dated”, as another reviewer wrote, and yet I’m sure it wasn’t one of the newly refurbished rooms. We were more than pleased with the room. The terrace is huge with beautiful views. (Such a shame the clouds blocked the sunset the day we were there,) We stayed just one night, being based in Santa Cruz for our vacation in Tenerife. We came for the night to go on one of the whale-watching boats the next day. We walked down to the marina and climbed back up. We are oldsters, but it was fine (though I wouldn’t want to be carrying much going back up). We do have some gripes, though. A room with a kitchenette that is fully equipped should have some tea and coffee. That’s being cheap to not provide that. Likewise, we took half-board and the dinner was underwhelming. We are vegetarian and asked when we reserved if we’d find what to eat and were told there were vegetarian options. There was salad, no fresh fruits other than an apple or banana (I’d think cut melon, for example, would have been in order) and the hot dishes - even if I weren’t vegetarian - were not impressive. For a vegetarian, there was little. There could have been a larger selection of cheeses (I’m not vegan), which is true of breakfast, too. But the most irritating thing at dinner was that a hot drink - tea or coffee - is not included! When one of the hosts came to ask if everything was OK, I commented about that, and she said they wouldn’t charge us. But a buffet dinner with no hot drinks is a nickel-and-dime business model, and gives a bad feeling. Breakfast was better than dinner, with salad, different cheeses (there still could be a better selection), some fresh fruit, though, again, a larger selection would have been nice. At least the hot drinks were part of the buffet. So, if there were an option to put stars for the food, I’d give 3 stars for the food. I didn’t reduce the overall stars, though, because the room and view were a pleasure, and the staff were pleasant.

Royal sun is a great place tucked away from tourists. We enjoyed a week stay here. They have an entertainment crew and provide fun activities each day except Mondays. The breakfast is wonderful and lots of choices. The view is spectacular but the pool is not heated. Great stay!

Lovely room, great view. It's a 20 minute walk to center so need taxi back as all uphill. Disappointed to not be able to get poached eggs on day 2 even though they have a chef , also prefer to get a pot of tea rather than make 5 small one's - breakfast is very good. Visit to natural pool (20 minutes walk) is amazing and I will return for that amazing experience

We were surprised to find this gem on the top of the hill with all rooms facing a stunning sunset sea view 😍 💙 Hotel it's very clean and has a carpark which needs to be booked in advance, as the spaces are limited. Room was very spacious with a kitchen and lounge included. The only 4 stars are given for the location, as it's a bit of an uphill walk, but they do have a shop downstairs where you can find the essentials 😉 (plus an ice cream) I would definitely return here 👍
