Agadir boasts 9km of golden sands where families can have a feast of fun in the sun, while jet skiing, parasailing, windsurfing and paddle boarding are among the delights which await in the inviting Atlantic waters. Oualidia beach, located between Essaouira and Casablanca, is truly picturesque, with an 11km lagoon and wonderful wildlife, including flamingos. Taghazout Beach, near Agadir, is a magnet for surfers, while Sidi El Bachir Beach, in Nador, sits at the foot of a cliff and is a great choice for romantic couples. Other awe-inspiring natural attractions include the cedar forests at Ifrane, Paradise Valley with its towering rocks, smooth ledges and glistening emerald waters, and the Todra Valley Gorge, where the limestone canyon walls rise to more than 400 metres.

Morocco is a joy for culture fiends, with a plethora of attractions and landmarks to explore. Marrakech has the wow factor with majestic mosques, Moorish white houses, old Koranic schools, ancient gateways, old fortified kasbahs, Saadian tombs and awesome palaces. No trip to the city would be complete without a visit to Jemaa el Fna, a famous old square which comes alive after dark, with entertainers and street vendors. Shop in traditional souks or visit the medinas in Casablanca, Essaouira, Fez and the capital city Rabat for a taste of Moroccan life from days gone by. Food aficionados will love Morocco, with everything from traditional street treats in local cafes and souks to gourmet delights in fine dining restaurants. Moroccan fare is heavily influenced by Amazigh, Andalusi, Mediterranean and Arab cuisines, with exotic flavours and aromatic infusions certain to satisfy the most discerning palate. Wonderful creations featuring couscous are served across the land and earthenware tagines are widely-used to present flavoursome fish, meat and vegetarian stews. Harira soup is a tomato-based favourite comprising lamb, vegetables, lentils and chickpeas, while Rfissa is a scrumptious dish featuring stewed chicken and lentils seasoned with saffron, fenugreek and ras el hanout. M’hanncha is a tasty dessert consisting of warqa pastry filled with almond paste, and baghrir is a delicious spongy pancake made with semolina flour. Best time to visit

Morocco’s sub-tropical climate brings hot summers, mild winters and wonderful year-round sunshine. April and May are great months to visit, when the countryside is lush and vibrant, with a comfortable average national temperature around 25°C. The period between September and October is also a lovely time for a holiday, with an average temperature of 21°C. The mercury can soar to 40°C in Marrakech during July and August, which makes the coastal resort of Agadir more appealing, when sea breezes bring relief from the heat. This alluring North African getaway is also a great choice for a winter sun holiday, with temperatures in Morocco rising to around 17°C. This is also an excellent time to explore the country’s magnificent cities, with their exceptional cultural and historical attractions. July is Morocco’s sunniest month, with an average of 10.8 hours per day, while November is the wettest month, with an average rainfall of around 40.6 mm.
