the shower is absurd, in an angle without a proper stand for the showerhead, floods the entire (small) bathroom. Bathroom products were never provided during the stay, anyway they aren't anything near a 4 stars hotel. The air conditioning was loud and wasn't possible to adjust the speed, the windows let the sun enter the room very early in spite of the dark courtains.
Breakfast was medium quality, quite repetitive.
The pool wasn't cleaned every day, sometimes towel were left on the chairs, no one has them removed for days. Pool was also noisy with kids jumping and playing in the adult pool.
I liked the view and the included free beach, even if it wasn't well maintained.
The place has potential, but needs more order

I’ve visited Kefalos 4 times. 2005, apartment. 2017 - Manolis Studio, 2018 - Kordistos Hotel and this year (2023), we thought we would upgrade to the Royal Bay.
Things we liked:
Hotel is modern and looks very special.
Beautiful private beach with free sun beds, we never had an issue getting one.
Hotel book all your chosen excursions for you.
Room very clean and cleaned everyday.
Staff are friendly and helpful.
Setting is beautiful and close to bars, restaurants and shops.
Free air-con in room.
Room was modern with electronic controlled blinds.
Toiletries in bathroom provided.
Tea and coffee making facilities in room.
The reception area is comfortable and modern.
Breakfast provided was high quality.
Things we didn’t like:
The hotel is SO NOISY.
Our room was positioned next to the cleaning cupboard and facing the road, so between loud vehicles speeding up and down the front and the clattering of housekeeping using the cupboard early in the morning, we got very little sleep.
Doors of rooms don’t keep out the noise of others walking past or opening their doors.
Only 1 toaster at breakfast which caused a queue and a battle to get toast.
There is a sign asking guests not to fill personal flasks up at breakfast with the free drinks, however the type of clientele this hotel seems to attract, certainly ignored this request and the hotel did nothing to address it.
This hotel is lovely, you will enjoy your holiday, however should we return to Kefalos a 5th time, we would not choose to stay at the Royal Bay again, as it was not worth the extra money and perceptions were not lived up to.

Royal Bay is a really nice hotel. Location is fantastic, its beach/sea is absolutely stunning. Breakfast was also really good. We loved the traditional Greek dishes and fig yoghurt. Rooms are spacious, functional and clean. However, there is one thing that really needs the be improved. The beds and (thick) pillows are really poor quality and does not reflect the good quality of the hotel. We had trouble sleeping and had some neck and back pain in the morning. (This was the only reason I had to give Royal Bay 4 stars instead of 5)

Superb Hotel with fantastic view on the beach.
Stayed for 4 nights. It was possible to upgrade to a room with ocean view for an additional charge which was fantastic. Beds are very comfortable. Air conditioning was working well and smooth. Breakfast was good. Lunch snack prices are reasonable. Dinner was not served. But al lot of nice Taverns are around the beach side.
Everybody was very friendly. Guests are from all around Europe.

The rooms are clean and modern. The hotel itself is right next to the beach and has a great atmosphere. The food is mediocre, gets a little repetitive after a while. My family and I were supposed to get two rooms next to each other, but ended up getting rooms on different floors, which was very unpleasant. The staff was polite, helpful and could speak English. I was satisfied with the internet connection. I would recommend the hotel, although I was very disappointed with getting the reparate rooms.
