Just back from a lovely week all inclusive at Marinas de Nerja. Fantastic service from all staff from reception to bar, restaurant and room service staff, brilliant location 1 euro on local bus to Nerja Town and a lovely 20 minute walk along the beach back to hotel. Excellent food with loads of choices daily
second visit and certainly a third soon. Thanks Marinas

Unfortunately, the hotel does not meet expectations. The exterior is repainted, but the interior differs from the standards of other 4-star hotels. There is a clear need for a thorough renovation, the equipment in the kitchenettes in the rooms probably dates back to the 1980s. The food is edible, but it is difficult to say that it tastes good. However, what disappointed us the most was the swimming pool offer. It turned out that the indoor pool is not accessible to children under 16 years of age. Due to the offer of the indoor swimming pool, we decided on this holiday offer. The manager said that the children can swim in the outdoor pool. During the first week of our stay, the swimming pool was out of use: it was cleaned and the area around the pool was painted with oil paint. The hotel is recommended as family-friendly. I do not recommend.

Just back from a lovely week at the Ona Marinas. Staff lovely, rooms cleaned every day, food great. Please ignore any one star feedback on this site.
Top tip - Bus stop on driveway to hotel takes u into Nerja for €1 euro, every 10 mins to the hour, or just take a 20 min walk along beach. Once in Nerja u can take the Red tractor train up to the caves and terrific 3d experience for just €21:50 each.

This hotel is a wonderful location with great shared spaces - beautiful reception and lobby, gorgeous pool area (not heated in winter so too cold to go in), direct access to the beach, short walk (20mins) into Nerja along the coastal path, small but lovely spa and friendly spa. Food options were good -not too much which I liked but what was there was done well. However, it is let down overall by the rooms. Our two bed apartment was small, but mostly the issue was the kitchen/diner area was bleak -not particularly clean, no pictures on the walls, no hooks for coats or bags, not enough side tables and very dated. I don't mind dated furnishings if it's a bit more thought out with some homely touches but unfortunately it really isn't. Limited accessories in kitchen too-such as dustpan and brush, scissors, bottle opener etc. Daily cleaning was just the floor, surfaces were not cleaned. That said, we would come again as the rest of hotel and staff were amazing, location is perfect and kids loved it.

All in all a nice hotel and a good starting point to visit some interesting places in Andalusia, like Malaga or Granada. The mountains are close by and invite you to go on long hikes. Of course, you can also go swimming and there is no road to obstruct access to the beach. A good place for families with children. There are flats with two separate bedrooms. The rooms are a little dated, but everything is clean and functional. The beds, at least in our flat, were good. But there are also a few points of criticism. The breakfast is very much geared towards British guests and, as a cheese lover, I found one type of cheese a little monotonous for 14 days. The biggest criticism, however, concerns environmental protection. Spain has been suffering from drought for a long time and we heard from locals that the water is sometimes shut off at night to save water. There was no sign of this at the hotel. Every morning the huge areas around the pool were rinsed with huge amounts of water. There weren't even any water-saving taps in the rooms and the same was true for the showers. As guests, we were not even told to use the water sparingly. Of course we tried to use water sparingly, but our impression was that many guests were completely unaware of this problem. On a positive note, towels were only changed on request. If it wasn't for the water problem, I would have given it 4 stars.
